The carb-craving has been real during the pandemic. I try to eat bagels infrequently but a couple of weeks ago my husband and I found ourselves unable to resist the idea of buying some for a weekend brunch for two...us! I jumped in my car and headed to Bruegger's. I was impressed with the availability of hand sanitizer posted throughout the store: by the door, both coming in and going out, at each register and other places inside. I find this to be a necessity these days and not just a nice touch. There was only one other customer in the store so social distancing was easy. Workers were masked and gloved. I was waited on promptly. I decided to buy a dozen bagels figuring I could freeze some of them. A dozen bagels here is a "baker's dozen" meaning you get 13 of them. Having grown up in NYC I know a good bagel and the bagels of my NYC youth were decidedly not the huge and too bready bagels that have been the rage almost everywhere for a couple of decades now. The Bruegger's bagels are huge in my book. They need to be about a third smaller than they are. They aren't as bready as some others but I still would not want to eat one that wasn't toasted as I fear it would seem too marshmallowy. A really excellent bagel in my mind is one that you would be as happy to have untoasted as you would toasted. They sell a variety of cream cheeses here but I didn't buy any as we were just going to go with butter. They also sell coffee and other hot and cold drinks. I bought an assortment of bagels although our favorites are the everything bagel (husband) and sesame bagel (me). There were a couple of flavors that I will skip next time. These dozen bagels did the trick though. They did freeze nicely in the plastic freezer bags Bruegger's provides. Not the best bagels I've had but good in a pandemic pinch. read more

I met a friend for coffee there and was disappointed that there were no options for dairy-free milk for coffee. I also wasn't clear on where I was supposed to go besides the register to order. Horrible, offensive employees... A few months ago, my dad, my sister and I came to Bruegger's for Saturday morning breakfast. After ordering to a very impatient chef, we proceeded to checkout. That's where things went downhill very fast. My credit card was drained because I only added certain amounts of money at a time so I wouldn't spend too much. The lady at the counter proceeded to yell at me and my family. It was a humiliating and traumatizing experience. She finally said that we could sit to load the money onto our card. We told her that she could cancel the order so that we wouldn't hold up the line. I sat on my phone reloading the card for no more than 2 minutes when she came again. Screaming, she told us how there were other customers and we shouldv'e just canceled the order. (we told her she could cancel it already!!!) All in all, the staff was horrible and the bagels were nothing to write home about. read more

I came in for a bagel for breakfast on my way to the airport. The order set up wasn't very clear to me. I went to the cash register to order and pay, but apparently you order first and then move down the line. It was my mistake and the delightful lady making the bagel was very flexible, but it could have been prevented with appropriate signage. The person on the register was being trained and his skills weren't up to par yet which caused a few mix ups, he initially rung me out for a bagel with salmon cream cheese because I had ordered a bagel with lox, but everyone has learning curves in new jobs and patience is practiced for a reason. I knew something was up when I saw the parking lot completely empty. I was "welcome" by a lady who clearly has no human skills. After trying to light up the mood, I started ordering and the lady just stared at me in a weird way, like she was bothered to see me there. It took her a bit to reply to my order telling me with an attitude that it was extra because the sandwich only came with 1 meat. I told her I understood by the sign that said "Add for extra" and that was exactly what I wanted to order. She proceeded to do my order while chatting with the other lady that works there. I think Brueggers is just great.I go there often and have a bagel and cream cheese.The asiago cheese , the rosemary olive oil and the cinnamon sugar are my favorite bagelsThe French vanilla coffee is delicious. They also have yummy croissants and muffins and pastries. The breakfast sandwiches are very good too because the eggs are cooked fresh. At lunchtime the sandwiches are great-lots of unique combos and they come on fresh bread, bagels ,croissant or wrap .I have always found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and they keep the store very clean .Easy parking is a bonus to read more
