This is a very cute crepe place that serves both sweet and savory crepes along with coffee/teas. I got the shawarma crepe and I loved how light and fluffy the crepe itself was. The crepe was stuffed with chicken, cucumbers, onion, and sauce. I'd definitely go back to try the other interesting combos (you can also create your own) It's order at the counter and seat yourself type of situation. For seating, there's a bar counter with some stools, tables (not the biggest seating area, but can fit a decent amount of people. There's also outdoor seating as well.

    Mascarpone Salted Caramel

At times, I say that a place is "dangerous." By dangerous, I mean for my waistline. This happens when a place is nearby, delicious, and has food that isn't the healthiest for you. If a place is far away, then I have a drive in the way... but a mile and a half with easy and free parking is basically nothing. I've had the opportunity to visit twice. Once on my own as a "scouting" mission, and then with the family. I had the opportunity to try: Mascarpone Salted Caramel: This one had a lot of things going for it, though was a little shy of perfection. First, I loved the crepe itself, it was thin and gently sweet. The salted caramel was also not overdone, and added just the right amount of its own sweetness and salinity. Meanwhile, the mascarpone was an unexpectedly wonderful ingredient, adding savory and creamy notes without weighing the crepe down. Yet, it was this that held it back from perfection: adding cold mascarpone to a warm crepe equals a cold crepe. Finally, just as a matter of preference, I would have liked a handful (pun wasn't intended, but works, so I'll own it) more berries, as the tart notes add an enjoyable contrast to the sweetness. Tiramisu Crepe: Incidentally, I had this one on a family-outing day. Later in the evening, I would be getting a Tiramisu at an Italian restaurant. Not Olive Garden, and not super-fancy, but nice enough to have white tablecloths. Somehow, I liked the crepe version better! It was on the simpler side, but worked wonders: a delectable sauce, soaked ladyfingers, and a sprinkle of chocolate. Similar to the mascarpone, it wasn't overly sweet. Finally, while not to the same degree, I have the same note regarding cold fillings + warm crepe = cold crepe. At this point, I have learned to be okay with this. Great cappuccinos, too! Well balanced coffee, and the foam had some delightful bite. For some closing notes: The location is cute, clean, and has ample seating. The service is friendly, welcoming, and appropriately fast considering the crepes are made fresh. However, with one person manning two crepe making machines, I can foresee longer waits during peak hours. Thus, Crepes n' Capes has a wonderful thing going! I wish them all the success as they continue to grow and expand the operation they have going. I guess that's the advantage of living nearby: I can join them for the journey, so to speak.

Nice clean place. I got salmon breakfast crepe and really enjoyed it. It was fresh and the portion was good sized. I also was happy to see a decent list of coffee and tea options. Definitely recommended! And I'm planning to go back to check some of their sweet crepes.

Not the best crepe flavor but still decent. I got an iced caramel latte and that was probably the best coffee I've had at a local breakfast joint. It's the kind of place where you line up to order at the register then sit down & wait for your food. We came right at 11am on a Sunday and the place was unusually (according to a friend who goes often) packed. I applaud the 2 workers I saw who got the line down as fast as they could. The woman on the register was also making the coffees/teas and there was one man making all the crepes. One weird thing to note because as a mom, I always like to know: at least one of the bathrooms had a changing table which I appreciate so much. I think I'd definitely come again & just hope it's not busy. Might try a savory crepe next time!

This is a super…read moreno-frills place that also does a bunch of seemingly random food like kebabs, shawarma plates, and pasta. I'm guessing drunk college kids go to town here. However, we are way past that demographic and simply went for some sweet crepes for breakfast. SO got the super crepe version of apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar crepe and chose ham and potatoes as his sides. I got a regular strawberry, banana, and Nutella crepe (i.e. no savory sides). The chef and (I assume) manager made them to-order and gave them to us at our table. These crepes were huge and stuffed full of filling. They used fresh pieces of fruit which were cut in large chunks. I really enjoyed my strawberry, banana, and Nutella crepe. The actual crepe had a nice soft yet chewy texture with a very slight crisp on the outside. I think it helped that my fruits were soft; my SO's crepe looked a bit unwieldy since it was full of large chunks of raw apple. I think for apples it would have been better to cook them down more. Overall I think this is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of place. Kind of like if you decided to make crepes at home, thought that would take a lot more effort than eating here.

The Country Breakfast Crepe arrived surrounded by a cheese sauce with a sausage patty and perfectly cooked sunny side up egg on top. Crêpes are one of her absolute favorites, so a quick Yelp search led us to La Crêperie just a couple of blocks from where we parked. It's a great, solid spot for a light breakfast, lunch, or late-night snack. A cute, super casual little hole in the wall tucked right on the corner off Thayer Street. It's a very small, hidden space inside with no customer bathroom, but they have a bit of indoor seating as well as a couple of tables outside. There is no dedicated parking lot, so make sure to grab a spot on Thayer or nearby side streets. Really good food. The crêpes themselves are perfectly thin with just the right chewy texture. We ordered one savory Napolitaine (ham and cheese) and one sweet butter and sugar crêpe. The prices are very reasonable, especially given high inflation. Service was prompt, friendly, and relatively fast once he got past the slow ordering family in front of us. It was a one-person show when we visited, and a family of four ahead of us took about 10 minutes to decide on their order with multiple changes.
