If you want a good fade stay away from Ahmed. Worst fade ever. Robert, Ali, and one other gentleman (first chair on the left when you walk in) are all really good in my opinion. They cut females hair as well. Very good with children too. Beard work is also done here and they do good work. Wait can be long some times but the waiting room is fine for it. The only thing I don't care for is as soon as you walk in they're asking you who you want to see before you even have time to sign in, and if you don't know they try to force you to the open chair immediately. Seems a bit pushy IMO. read more

We have been searching for way over a year for a real honest to goodness barber shop. Been to numerous shops and they all sucked. Holy moly we finally found it. My husband walked out grinning. We have no idea who she was that did his hair but he loved her. This place gave you hot steam towels, massaged your head, neck and shoulders and he didn't want to leave. Same price as a regular barber but a very updated and current look. Definitely an upscale establishment with down to earth prices. THIS is how you do it. We have to drive almost an hour to this place, but I don't care. Finally someone is cutting and styling hair like it's 2022!!! You guys rocked it. read more

Mina did a spectacular job on my haircut for the wedding we were attending in Dahlonega back on June 2nd (we just got home)! Though I am from Colorado, I felt totally at home in the chair. I am 62, am a U.S. Army veteran, and have had haircuts all over the world. This was one of the top two haircuts I have ever had in my entire life (the other one being in S. Korea)! Needing a "zip" haircut, I really appreciated the warm towel and the lotion on my head. It prevented my skin from having the normal problems I encounter here in Colorado. Before I left, the owner also spent time talking to me, as did a couple of the other barbers. It was fun to meet barbers from all over the world and hear their stories of how and when they came to America! I can't say when, if ever, I will be back in north Georgia, but if I am I will ensure I let my hair grow long enough to get a haircut at Cumming Barber Shop! God bless you all! read more

Who would expect great cut AND COLOR for a woman, at a barber shop? I was referred to this place by a gal with videos on Pixie cuts on YouTube. I wanted her style and my local beauty salons just weren't hitting the mark. I showed up with a bad cut and brassy color. The other salon said letting my dirty blonde hair was a challenge and the brassy color I ended up with was the best she could do. Cumming Barber Shop proved that was not true. I got lifted to platinum easily with NO PAIN OR SCALP BURN. And my hair is in better shape as well. Hardy did a precise and outstanding cut with attention to detail. Everyone was friendly and kind. I can't say enough good about this place. It's an hours drive from me, but they have gained a repeat client. Well worth the drive! read more

Horrible haircut...service was fine and walk-in was 5-10 minute wait on a Sunday which was nice but my barber, Robert, screwed up possibly the easiest haircut ever. I literally asked for a 6-4 taper haircut, didn't even ask him to cut the top...I get home and the sideburns aren't lined up (one is crooked) and the back is uneven with a chunk missing...will definitely never come back here. Like without thinking. I ask the owner to check the camera and said no bc they don't have someone to check them Like wth??? 4 guys sitting without doing nothing and on their phone! I have the exact time I was there where obviously in the camera you can see they were there,when we left! Went in for a quick shave of the sides and back. Took them 45 minutes and cost $50!!!!!!! To top it off they didn't even follow my directions, cutting a chunk off the back part of hair. I've been growing it for 9 years. They don't respect your wishes or value, had to let the guy know 4 times to stop calling me "Bro". Waste of money and time, disrespectful service. Went in for a beard trim and straight edge. Got passed to a regular hair stylist, whom should not touch another beard without proper training. EVERYTHING was uneven and there were parts that were cut way to short providing me with major gaps, the mustache was incredibly jagged, no clean lines. I was very clear about what I wanted providing details, and pictures. Once I saw the finished product ( nothing like the pictures) I did not want her to touch my beard again and canceled the hot towel and straight edge, concluding the process. I had to go to another barber to fix it! Will not be coming back. Two stars for her being very nice and the shop being very clean and professional. Train the staff. Make sure the receptionist knows the strengths and weakness of the shop to better cater the experience for the customers. read more

So I just moved to the area and I chose this place because of the reviews. I made an appointment and asked for their most experienced barber. I asked for a clipper cut on the sides, a one into a two, into a three, this part was fine. I asked for a hard part which the barber did with clippers instead of a straight edge razor, so, it turned out not as defined as I would have liked. The trim on top was OK, but, shorter than what I wanted. The really bad part was the beard trim. I asked for a trim of my goatee with an eight or nine guard and instead he free handed it, so, it ended up super short. I also instructed him, and was very clear that my mustache needed to cover my entire upper lip and to trim only the ends. Instead he trimmed all of it and left it extremely short. I guess the only good news is it will all grow back. The guy just didn't know how to follow instructions. To add insult to injury I was charged for a shampoo I didn't ask for, and, the manager maybe owner (?) didn't even bother to ask me how everything was, he just charged me and that was it. read more

Came here traveling through from Jersey to Florida looking for a decent barber shop in the area that could give me a contemporary cut. They weren't any photos so I was a little hesitant, but the reviews persuaded me. I was greeted by a younger lady who immediately was able to get me in a chair which I thought was odd because there were several people in the waiting area. I later found out they were either waiting for other barbers or on their family/friends. Justin was the man who cut my hair, and he did a great job and paid great attention to detail. He was also very kind and personable. I want that to be known. I did find a couple of issues with my experience, though. Firstly, the hair cut itself took an hour, down to the last minute to be specific. My past barbers in Jersey did the exact same cut just as well before in under 15 minutes. I had plans at 1:30 initially. I didn't want to rush him because I know for alot of people, it just makes them sloppy and both parties on edge. The cut was also not what I asked for, although done very well. I was very specific on what I wanted, and stated to leave the hair longer on the left side somewhat, instead of the full buzz on one side which can leave the hair and head looking lopsided and much more uneven. Regardless, he had a lovely personality once we got to talking, and I could tell he put alot of effort into my hair. It could have been a miscommunication, or just an off day. Everyone has those. I still highly recommend this barber shop and Justin as well, just keeping these things in mind. read more

She took her time, also I like barbers who pay attention to detail like she did. She also put a hot towel around my head with like aloe vera or something, massaged my head with it too. Normally if you were to bring your son in for a haircut 30 mins before close you would get, A) dirty looks, B) the least experienced/worst/crabbiest hair stylist, and, C) a bad haircut. None of this is true if you go to Cumming Barber Shop! Our previous two haircuts were not very good, so I was hoping the third place would be the charm. I had heard of Cumming Barber Shop from our neighborhood FB page, and I thought why not? It couldn't be worse than the other two places! Due to having to wait for the babysitter to arrive, we were running late and we didn't get there until just before close. Instead of all the things I expected to happen listed above, we were warmly welcomed, got right in and had a fantastic experience overall! Maria was the stylist and she didn't make us feel rushed. She took her time and did an amazing job! She took one look at the picture my son picked out and told me to go sit down and relax - it was awesome! Maria not only made us feel comfortable, but she totally nailed the cut my son wanted! That was the first time someone cut it exactly like the picture! Everyone in the shop was friendly, and it seemed like they all work together really well. At one point, my son had 2-3 stylists around him discussing the best way to give him the cut he wanted. The shop is clean and there is plenty of seating in the waiting area. This was the best experience overall, and the best haircut my son has ever had by far. Really enjoyed my experience at the shop. At first was a little concerned cause my cutter never heard of a crew cut. But she did an extremely well job. Loved the hot shave foam to use straight razor to clean the cut. And the hot towel around my head was an experience I haven't had but enjoyed. Kudos to the shop. I've been to this place 3 time and 2 times I have gotten horriable hair cuts this last time I was suppose to only get a trim and clean up of my hair as I wanted to keep my longer hair style, we spoke in long detail about how i wanted my hair cut when I got out to my car i realized just how much she cut off. this is the 2nd time they have cut off more than half the length when i told them I just wanted a trim to keep the longer style. I will not be returning to this place. As for the pros for this place, they are all really nice the shop is clean and furnished well. The hair cut I got isnt horriable it isn't what I asked for though. I really wanted this place to work out since great clips just does a horrible job. read more
