I have not picked the same flavor during each visit at Cup & Cone because I usually choose one of their monthly flavors. Ube and Thai Tea were my 5 star favorites, and I look forward to their return to the menu. I also liked Dulce de Leche (4 stars) and Oregon Strawberry (4 stars). The vegan flavors tend to be sorbet options. The vegan flavors I've tried included Pina Colada (4 stars), Strawberry Lychee (3.5 stars), Mango (3.5 stars), and POG (3 stars). I haven't tried the drinks yet. The service has been 4 stars. Check their website for more accurate hours since they may have updated seasonal hours like other businesses. It is not open as early or as late as other spots if you want to go before noon or after 7:00 pm. It's a nice family friendly spot for a sweet treat. read more

Cup and Cone should be renamed "Cup or Cone, but not Donut" because I totally whiffed at Cup and Cone by getting neither cup nor cone. I got the donut?!!? It's called the "Grilled Freeze" and its a terrible donut, cut in half then filled with ice cream (your choice) before being flash-warmed for about 3 seconds. I chose two flavors for a creamy half-n-half version at the recommendation of the friendly server since all the small batch ice creams are made right there on site. * Oregon Berry - Berrific and local * Fluffy Chocolate - Needed more fluff & less choco Bonus stars for the VERY kind and helpful person behind the counter! A small little shop located in the heart of Bethany Town Square, with friendly staff and creative flavors! They sport seasonal flavors that are definitely very creative. And for such a small shop, they also provided an impressively large variety of flavors. They also sell boba, which we did not have an opportunity to try, but I am interested in giving a go the next time we go. We got the Grapefruit Hibiscus and Rose Apricot in a waffle cone. I definitely preferred the Rose Apricot. With its bits of apricot and slight hint of rose, this was definitely a flavor combination that I was not expecting to taste so good. The Grapefruit Hibiscus was not super exciting. I would probably try something else next time I go. The waffle cone was pretty amazing! Usually, these can be chewy, or stale tasting, but the homemade waffle cone was crunchy and delicious. It did not crumble immediately, and was overall just a great texture. I had the avocado lime ice cream, which I think is a special for May along with other Mexican flavors like churro, Mexican chocolate, and dulce de leche. It was so delicious. It was very dense and creamy, just like I like it, actually very gelato-like. There was a perfect amount of lime, very well-balanced. Service was friendly. It is a bit pricey at $4.50 for 1 scoop. The reason I took off a star is because they were out of sugar cones, and the only cone alternative they had was waffle, which is $1 extra, so I ended up getting a cup, which seems wasteful. They do have paper cups that are fully biodegradable and wood spoons, so it would be great if they composted. read more

We love this neighborhood ice cream shop. They keep adding new flavors periodically to the menu which are supposedly inspired by their travels around the world. I have loved some of their Indian flavors myself. They also have delicious boba tea. The place has limited seating, but is never too crowded. I had high hopes when I came here but honestly I have mixed feelings. The service is great but I do think the owner should think about having another employee work on busy days because I was in that 15 person line on a hot day and the employee was struggling to catch up with all the orders. The vegan icecream is a bit on the icy side meanwhile their dairy icecream is rich and creamy. My friend had gotten the pistachio and Ube and he thought they were delicious. Their boba is below average. Boba is supposed to be chewy, and not to feel like I'm diving my teeth in to a soggy and stiff bouncy ball. The bobas lack flavor as if they were never soaked in the sugar or honey syrup. The tea is a hit or miss. I'm allergic to dairy so I can't comment on the milk teas but I've ordered their strawberry green tea and passionfruit honey green tea. You are unable to adjust the sweetness of the drinks but they come 50% sweet than most boba drinks at other stores. The strawberry one wasn't that great but it was better than the passionfruit honey green tea. There was strawberry purée at the bottom of the drink which I thought was nice but over the drink didn't have much flavor. Just tasted like water with strawberry purée. The passionfruit honey green tea was disgusting. Tasted like the smell of cleaning supplies. The minute the I took a sip of it, I felt repulsed and immediately spat it out. Visited this place on my way back from Spa last Friday .They have Indian themed ice creams for the month of October .That got me more excited to try out their flavors . They did not disappoint .Due to covid protocols ,couldn't really try any flavors in store but can take a sample and try it just outside the store . I really loved Gulkand ice cream and could taste the yummy rose petals in it . The other flavors were great too .Chikoo ice cream is also rare to find outside of Indian stores .They were creamy and also delicious .I hope they can extend the Indian flavors for longer than just this month. Creative, yet inoffensive flavors: Cup and Cone has some crazy twists on classic flavors from around the world. Ever had a scoop of "rose cardamom" or "blood orange balsamic"? No? Then swing by Cup and Cone! As crazy as some of the flavor ideas can sound, in practice, they're prepared in such a way that they are very cream heavy, and therefore, very easy eating, even for children and their picky palates. I have to mark points off for price, though. A hidden gem for me. I live in Tigard, but drove out to the Bethany area yesterday (Saturday) planning to finally try the vegan donuts at Donut Palace that I recently heard about. I'm not sure if they only make them on Saturday's or if Saturday is the day they have the most vegan options, but whatever. Anyways, I got there maybe 45 minutes before closing but they had already sold out. Disappointed I missed out, I headed a ways down the street near the QFC to see if the frozen yogurt shop I once went to there might have some non-dairy flavors. When I walked in to Cup & Cone I realized it was not a frozen yogurt shop anymore (I didn't remember the name of the old shop so I didn't realize it was gone). I was glad to see that there were some vegan flavors available, though. Nothing took my fancy (the person working said the chocolate frosting flavor was more dark and less sweet, so not my style) until I saw the vegan soft serve option on one of the signs! Vegan soft serve is non-existent outside of Portland, or so I thought. I now know where I will be going on hot days when I would kill for a cone. The ice cream is delicious and unique from a previous version of vegan soft serve I've had (RIP Food Fight soft serve, I will always miss you). A vegan soft serve cone here will cost you $6 (or I think $7.50 if you also need a vegan cone) but it's so worth it even just as an occasional treat. You also do get a lot of ice cream I would say. I made the mistake of asking for a regular cone thinking I would get a free sugar cone, but I just got a regular waffle cone. I realized afterwards that they probably don't even serve them in sugar cones because of how much ice cream you get, since sugar cones are pretty small. I know next time to just pay extra for a vegan waffle cone. You also can choose from vanilla, chocolate or swirl (I went for the swirl). I will definitely go back as much as possible! Would be cool in the future to see them get creative with the flavors maybe, and switch them out for a week or so. Please go try the vegan soft serve now, even if you're not vegan! I don't think you could possibly regret it. I was even shocked and almost sure that somehow the flavors weren't vegan, because they tasted even better than regular soft serve ala DQ or McD's. I couldn't find any of them in the store, but they did have some unique flavors, I stuck to the simple one, pistachio, it was good I would say but I could strongly smell an artificial flavor I can't pinpoint to.. The boba here is not great. I ordered a strawberry milk tea and it was way to sweet. The milk tea here is not authentic like share tea and is Americanized. It honestly tasted more like a milkshake than a milk tea! Also the service was very slow. We had to wait fifteen minutes just for our drink! There was only one person running the shop which isn't enough. Don't go here for Boba if you want a authentic experience. read more

Far from just another dessert shop, I had the best vanilla ice cream cone I've had for a while here today. "Handmade ice cream" on a yard sign staked at West Union and Bethany was all the encouragement I needed. $4 for a good size scoop that didn't make the $1 homemade fresh, crispy and aromatic cone seem too big or too small. The donut is not good and took all the good flavor away and tiny ice cream scoop inside not worth it, overall expensive and not satisfied. But I will be back for all other global flavors. Very good ice cream, the portion options are perfect for all ages. I love the cherry and rose cardamom ice cream the most. Would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
