This place is cool. Went here last night for a concert we wanted to see a local band Beach Patrol…read more The venue has a few tables but mostly standing area. It was cold in the building but I bet if the place is packed it gets hot. I like that they have traveling music and local bands playing their own music. No cover songs here! The cover was $7 which is decent and the drink prices are competitive. The bathrooms are in Keggers next door though not in the actual Lyric Room. I will for sure stop in again to see some bands.

I love this venue! I was brought here for a date on a Friday night. The cover was cheap and pop…read morepunk/punk (my favorite genre) bands were on the lineup. Check out Five 4 Dive they were the opener and were terrific! The venue is small but it works. Its a more intimate feel (as weird as that is for pop punk bands). There is a small bar in the back and the bartender was awesome. Drinks were strong and cold. The Lyric Room is attached to Keggers bar and the entrance is through the bar. They give you a wristband so you can go into the bar to get drinks and/or use the restroom. There is a sign saying max capacity is 99 for the Lyric Room and I feel that would be really crowded if that were the case. There are a few bar tables along the wall but other than that its standing room only. It does get very warm in there but there is a coat rack that you can hang a jacket on if you get too hot. I cant wait to go back and see other bands at this place. Definitely a great place for live and local music.

I was somewhat of a regular. Not anymore. I was called "pretty" one night by a a bartender "Angie"…read morewho was previously fired from this bar. Found out that was code for "Pretty Dumb". Well, I've had my last drinks here at their bar. My money is so dumb here, it will have to go somewhere else. Hope this helps you all see the drama people like to generate. I for one don't like drama. Avoid the Ave on Thursday nights, the volume on the music is so loud, you can't even hear the person next to you. I've heard the owner yell - "show me your tits" to many of the patrons too. Lesson here is, don't piss off patrons who have been regulars. I'm done here!!! I don't mean much here nor does my money anyhow. Plenty of other fun bars on Velp!

I was really surprised how many people were here on a Wednesday night especially since no one sung karaoke...maybe at most 10 different people did sing a song. It was still really fun, and some of the local patrons were friendly and easy to talk too. The bartenders were a little slow at first, but the service got better as the night went on. Not a whole lot for beer selection, but Spotted Cow on tap kept me happy. Plus they had $4 mini pitchers which included all tap beers. There were a couple of times there was a 2 Dolla Holla where you had 2 minutes to buy some really simple shots for $2. Overall...it was a fun time for a place that I wouldn't usually frequent.

The drinks are priced comparably with other venues. The band was decent but not stellar. What really bothered me was the seating. The VIP seating in the mezzanine, which costs $20 extra, is composed of bar stools. As a person with back problems, I appreciate a chair with a back. Also the B seats don't offer a good view of the stage at all. They did find me a good seat on the floor, which I appreciate, but the plastic seats were very hard and I found them somewhat uncomfortable. Overall, if they have a show I really want to see I might come back. Otherwise, it was a very expensive Meh.

I am a promoter and band member from Green Bay. Epic proved to be a sloppy, dishonest, and devious…read morevenue and it affected patrons and the band. Check bouncers, materially incompetent with seating arrangement set up that affected patrons, not honest, written promise breachers, and in my opinion no better than petty thieves that fight to keep per-chair rent for chairs they never put on the floor and they themselves removed from the sales seating chart and chair plan shortly in advance of the show. For Wish You Were Floyd 7/31/26, they (Ryan V. and Patrick T. of management) made over $10,000 on the act, paid the band on Friday, they praised the band, and by Monday they stopped payment on the check with zero notice to the band and for no stated reason. It was obviously due to financial difficulty of some sort. (They lied, claiming no idea of what happened, but check stoppage by their bank requires a request from them. I got on the phone and got it sorted out. I went to my bank to get a $12 fee waived for Epic's benefit. Hassle, and red flag.) With gross incompetence they ignored the website seating plan they put out to the public for ticket sales, and folks bought reserved front row AA left and right main floor seats in advance and showed up to find the seats not there and they were relocated to the back of the room upper mezzanine (the least popular area for sales by far) and the venue falsely claims in writing not to know that happened until told about it by me later. That can't be true. Patrons complained on the spot, and got relocated. The venue forgot to put out the reserved main floor tables too, (negligently shown in the wrong spot on the sales website) and I called that out not long before the show started. Remarkable lack of attention to detail. As for petty theft, the contract says promoter pays $2 per chair rent, and that's all, and the venue has collected payment in advance for chairs it never put out on the floor, it won't tell me how many chairs it put out on the floor in the face of repeated requests, and Patrick T. has repeatedly presented me with bogus numbers in non-responsive answers to the question of how many chairs were put on the floor, while ignoring the deletion of a significant number of seats from the seating chart that he himself had removed from the sales chart and chair plan after discussion, not long before the show date. That is truly astounding forgetfulness if not intentional oversight designed to scoop some money from the band. As if over $10,000 earned legitimately off the band is not enough. No way could he forget removing a bunch of chairs from the plan per discussion of the parties shortly before the show. And no way should per-chair rent be collected for chairs not provided. Ryan V. claimed in an email that an until-then undisclosed alleged Epic policy defeats the contract terms and allows collecting chair rent for chairs not put on the floor. It is bizarre to even have to argue about something like that. And to top it off, a little over a week ago they promised via email to finally tell me how many chairs they had put on the floor and issue a rebate, but then did not tell me how many chairs were put on the floor, claimed it was a higher number than it obviously is, and breached their written commitments to tell me how many chairs they put on the floor and issue me a rebate! I just sent a ten day demand letter. Deal with this place at your peril.

Contrary to Hunter's fallacious testimony, I have never witnessed anyone smoke anything in the bathrooms, nor have I seen any "drug-related" or criminal activity inside or outside the establishment. Regardless of the shift being worked, the day of the week, or the event being held, the staff is always kind and welcoming, and the service is always prompt. The owner is personable, easy-going, and charming. The bartenders at this bar are very adept, highly experienced in serving large crowds. Because of this, the customer service remains outstanding during those busy nights with live music. Hunter B.'s accusations about cleanliness are also erronious, as the staff works hard to maintain a safe, clean environment. As I've already stated, Hunter's review is completely fabricated/mistaken; Frets and Friends is a friendly, trustworthy bar, with a wonderful staff. Hunter B.'s nonsensical review is nothing short of slander and it should be removed.
