I've driven by Meyer Theater before, but never had the opportunity to see it from the inside. Being from closer to Milwaukee I've been to the similar sized venues throughout Milwaukee numerous times. Judging a book solely by its cover I pictured the inside of Meyer being a dated/rundown venue. This past Saturday night I had the opportunity to see the Violent Femmes at the Meyer. Boy was I mistaken on my thoughts about this place. The interior must have been remodeled and most definitely regularly maintained like a classic majestic show house. A cozy theater with room for 750-1000 people (guess). The acoustics for a band are just great for the building. There is comfortable seating. One drawback for me, especially for a concert venue is that it's all seated. At a concert I prefer a standing floor area to get more close & personal with the entertainer. When everyone is in a seat there's the whole will we or won't we be standing throughout the show. A band like the Violent Femmes, not so sure anyone should be sitting. An easy venue to get in/out of. Reasonably priced drinks, $3.50 for a beer, $2 for a soda. Pleased to have seen an act at the Meyer and I'll pay closer attention to other touring artists for another event here in the future.

Went here for a show with a friend on 11/15/202. It was a free show. Mainly aimed at people who have served. It was awesome. The band did a great job. The Meyer is a really cool place. A gem in the heart of GB. You feel like u step back in time and feel like u r in a classy place and all the people that are there are just as excited to be there as u r. Green Bay is so lucky to have this place. I didn't drive to Chicago or Minneapolis and pay thru the nose for parking or tickets(which for this event the tix were free). I can't believe I parked about a block and a half away from the show. Had no issues getting in or out. GB is so fortunate to have this place! Until the next review, Yelp-Steve-O, out!

Came here tonight to see The Violent Femmes. I must say I was surprised at the quality of the venue. I was not expecting so much flourish, professionalism of staff, and awesome sound system. The bar had a good selection as well, that's a good thing here in Wisconsin

Man I am in love with this place. Not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics in this building are outstanding. I like that the venue feels more intimate. Always decently priced drinks and good quality too. The bathrooms are always clean and easy to get to in the building. Last comment this building is gorgeous inside and the seats are so plush! I will come back time and time again.

Until earlier this year I had never been to the Meyer theater. Then we went to a show in May and just went to a show a few nights ago (in November). Walking into the Meyer theater you get to see the preserved/revived decor and beautiful finishes. Makes you feel like you are taking a step back in time. I feel like the show prices are quite reasonable. Both times that we have been to the Meyer theater this year we sat in the grand tier. I would highly recommend these seats. They are individual chairs versus typical theater seats. I feel great knowing that I am helping support local live theater entertainment!

Mezzanine seating could be a little more roomy, a coat check would be nice to have instead of trying to find a place for jackets in a crowded event. But overall a great first time there and I'll definitely be attending more events there.

First time visit to the Meyer Theatre for a show. We had the pleasure of seeing Mary Chapin Carpenter for whom Rose Cousins opened. The Meyer is a beautiful old theater with velvet seating. The ushers there are very knowledgeable and helpful. They're also very welcoming. This is a beautifully restored old theater. There are beautiful collonades on each side of the stage as well as a beautifully lit ceiling which gives the appearance of a night sky with blinking stars. Although we did not go to see it, we were told that the mezzanine level has velvet sofa type seating. I strongly recommend a visit.

Gorgeous venue for music, theatre, Stage shows. Near truly local non-chain eateries like Blake & Tan ($$) or Kavarna ($).

My wife and I took our 6 yr old boy and 18 month old daughter to see Dinosaur Train. Great show,…read more kids loved it and would see it again. My three star rating is regarding how the Weidner Theater handled an issue and what I was told. My wife bought the tickets online through Ticket Master. Ticket Master advised we only needed 3 tickets because my daughter was under 2. My wife didn't think twice about it because it's pretty common, from our experiences, that children under 2 are admitted free because they usually sit in the lap of one of the parents. I gave the woman collecting tickets our 3 tickets and proceeded in and within a few steps I hear my wife call my name. The woman says we only have 3 tickets so one or us can't go in. My wife explained the situation and she said she's sorry. I requested that we speak with management. So another lady shows up and advises that they were told this might happen today. Ok so I'm thinking that management must have corrective action in place since they already know it could happen. She takes my wife's ticket and advises that we take our seats. We offered to pay for my daughter, but we wanted to sit together as a family. She said she would come see us at our seats. When she returns she says these tickets were bought online, which is what we told her. I'm looking at her waiting for the her next statement, and nothing. I'm a little puzzled at this point, is she asking or is she telling us? Is it an issue we bought them online? So I waited without responding. She says next time we order online we need to buy tickets for all family members and they would let it go this time. She advises that it's for safety reasons, in case there is a fire they need to knows how many people are in the theater. I said thank you and she left. Here's my issue, it's not about safety, it's about revenue, which we offered to pay for my daughter. Tickets were $25 each, we didn't have a problem paying for her and I completely understand and was more than willing. I told my wife I can't believe what I was just told. When I gave the woman collecting tickets, she tore the ticket stub off the bottom and tossed them in a wood box right next to her. She didn't do it electronically as they do at the Rausch Center or at a Packer game nor did she have a counter to keep track of the number of stubs she tore. So with this method, if I buy a ticket and don't go, how do they know if I physical there or not? Could they be hand counting the ticket stubs after the show starts? I'd be shocked if they did. First thing, it's not my responsibility to make sure Ticket Master knows I need tickets for each family member. Second, don't tell me a story that doesn't line up with how tickets are collected and blame it on safety reasons for the need to buy tickets for every family member. Yes, we didn't have to pay for my daughter and thank you to the person who made that decision, but shame on the person who created the story as rational for needing to buy tickets for each family member next time.

It was cold in the building but I bet if the place is packed it gets hot. I like that they have traveling music and local bands playing their own music. No cover songs here! The cover was $7 which is decent and the drink prices are competitive. The bathrooms are in Keggers next door though not in the actual Lyric Room. I will for sure stop in again to see some bands.

Check out Five 4 Dive they were the opener and were terrific! The venue is small but it works. Its a more intimate feel (as weird as that is for pop punk bands). There is a small bar in the back and the bartender was awesome. Drinks were strong and cold. The Lyric Room is attached to Keggers bar and the entrance is through the bar. They give you a wristband so you can go into the bar to get drinks and/or use the restroom. There is a sign saying max capacity is 99 for the Lyric Room and I feel that would be really crowded if that were the case. There are a few bar tables along the wall but other than that its standing room only. It does get very warm in there but there is a coat rack that you can hang a jacket on if you get too hot. I cant wait to go back and see other bands at this place. Definitely a great place for live and local music.
