A nice place for a quiet beer or wine. Not much food to offer. They have live music sometimes. It's a cozy feel.

This place is cool. Went here last night for a concert we wanted to see a local band Beach Patrol…read more The venue has a few tables but mostly standing area. It was cold in the building but I bet if the place is packed it gets hot. I like that they have traveling music and local bands playing their own music. No cover songs here! The cover was $7 which is decent and the drink prices are competitive. The bathrooms are in Keggers next door though not in the actual Lyric Room. I will for sure stop in again to see some bands.

Check out Five 4 Dive they were the opener and were terrific! The venue is small but it works. Its a more intimate feel (as weird as that is for pop punk bands). There is a small bar in the back and the bartender was awesome. Drinks were strong and cold. The Lyric Room is attached to Keggers bar and the entrance is through the bar. They give you a wristband so you can go into the bar to get drinks and/or use the restroom. There is a sign saying max capacity is 99 for the Lyric Room and I feel that would be really crowded if that were the case. There are a few bar tables along the wall but other than that its standing room only. It does get very warm in there but there is a coat rack that you can hang a jacket on if you get too hot. I cant wait to go back and see other bands at this place. Definitely a great place for live and local music.

The review written by Hunter B., on 11/20/2014, is absolutely false. I have gone to this bar for…read moreabout 10 years and I have visited for pretty much every type of occasion (football games, live music, casual evenings, etc.). Contrary to Hunter's fallacious testimony, I have never witnessed anyone smoke anything in the bathrooms, nor have I seen any "drug-related" or criminal activity inside or outside the establishment. Regardless of the shift being worked, the day of the week, or the event being held, the staff is always kind and welcoming, and the service is always prompt. The owner is personable, easy-going, and charming. The bartenders at this bar are very adept, highly experienced in serving large crowds. Because of this, the customer service remains outstanding during those busy nights with live music. Hunter B.'s accusations about cleanliness are also erronious, as the staff works hard to maintain a safe, clean environment. As I've already stated, Hunter's review is completely fabricated/mistaken; Frets and Friends is a friendly, trustworthy bar, with a wonderful staff. Hunter B.'s nonsensical review is nothing short of slander and it should be removed.

We didn't want that partly because we had an outdoor wedding in a tent in a beautiful, natural setting, and someone playing pre-recorded hits from the 80s, 90s and later seemed like a mismatch. And also partly because that's just not us. We like the natural, the analog, the softer and more organic feel. So we decided to hunt down some live acoustic options. As soon as we found Acoustic Endorphins, we knew we were all set in the reception music department. From our initial inquiry all the way through to the rainy morning of the event, Ted took great care of us. They worked with us on a specific set list, organizing songs by tempo so that the slower songs were played during the dinner buffet, and more upbeat songs played after dinner when people were more likely to be dancing. And dance they did! They even invited guests to play and sing along with them. Not only did they nail the event, and achieve the ideal vibe we'd hoped for, people came up to us regularly throughout the night to compliment them. On top of that, they are two good-looking dudes who dress to impress and their set-up with the instruments and lights was perfect. And they wore kilts! My background is Irish/German, my wife's is mostly German and Welsh, so the kilts were a hit with everyone. Planning a wedding involves trusting vendors you've never worked with to come through for you, not just to show up at the right time, but to give their all on your big day. And Acoustic Endorphins gave us everything they had, and we really can't thank them enough for that.

Brunch/Lunch Review! It's been years since I've been to…read morePlank Road but always enjoy their food offerings, outdoor patio, and overall atmosphere. When they started offering weekend brunch, it felt natural to revisit and try their new menu out. To start, I got the Espresso Martini which was definitely more Bailey's cream than anything. I didn't get a caffeine kick like I was hoping for. A lot of their brunch food items have a spicy element that deterred us from wanting to order. We ended up waiting the 15 to 11am so that we could order off the lunch menu. We started with the Combo Basket and Spinach & Artichoke Dip. I love that the dip comes with both fresh pita chips and toasted garlic bread. This is a must have appetizer! The Combo Basket was an array of fried food: chicken tenders, french fry medley, pickles, curds, onion rings paired with three sauces (bbq, ranch, honey mustard). If you go with a bigger group, this is an easy app to share. For entrees, I got the Garlic Parm Boneless wings. They were perfectly sauced and came with quite a few for the price. My husband got the Smoked Duck Salad which was tasty having fresh lettuce paired with the smokey, cold cut duck. My friends got the House Salad and Bourbon Bleu Burger. Sadly, the burger barely had any cheese on it which is my friend's favorite part. While the food overall was amazing, we sadly had a lacking experience in the service department. Courtney was our server and often missed revisiting our table for water refills, ordering food, or getting another round of drinks. She did mess up one drink order and rather than giving us the drink, she took it back which is fair. She lacked a pleasant demeanor and we left feeling off about the encounter. The kitchen also took longer than normal to push food out. While this may have been a bad day, it was notable by our whole group. I hope this element continues to improve as Plank Road overall is a great neighborhood spot right off the expressway! Tip: Weekend Brunch menu seems to be offered all morning but lunch food menu starts at 11am. Pro Tip: The bar has pull tabs for cash purchase.
