I used to live 5 minutes down the street from this place. I now live about 30 minutes away and still make the drive to get these cupcakes! My most recent experience this week was notable. I was running late and my GPS said I would get there right at 5pm when the business closes. I almost didn't go worried I would waste my time and they'd be closing up shop. Well, I decided to go for it and when I arrived the man working (I am sure he is the owner) advised me to call next time to let him know I'm running late because he usually stays late anyways. He was so, so nice and welcoming despite me inconveniencing him. He was also helpful on identifying which cupcakes have nuts (I was buying for a friend with a nut allergy). I wish I had seen the check in deal but it gives me an excuse to come back sooner. This place was amazing. I'm not a huge cake fan but I tend to like cupcakes more for the right icing/cake flavors. They offer an assortments of flavors that change as well as cake. They have unique alcohol infused cupcakes as well. All the icing was so fluffy yet flavorful and perfectly dense. The cake itself was also well flavored and soft. We were really pleased with the richness of the flavors like the key lime really tastes accurate but not artificial. My sister loved the alcohol infused ones. She said she could really taste the alcohol and the sweetness of the cake was balanced well with it. Cupcakes were $3.50 for regular ones and $4 for alcohol infused ones. Got half a dozen for $20 and I was happy to support this family run small business for quality dessert. I'll be back! read more

My mom discovered Cupcake People more than five years ago. She told me that she knew who was going to do my wedding cake -- Cupcake People. I laughed because not only was I not planning a wedding, I wasn't in a relationship. Because the location wasn't too far from my commute home, I stopped in one day to try their sweets. O. M. G. The wedding cake is simply divine and I still haven't found another like it. Their cupcakes are all extremely delicious, also. My favorite was quickly established -- salted caramel -- and this became my go to spot on the way home. Calories be damned. In the course of enjoying this guilty pleasure, I started dating the man who became my husband. I'd buy cupcakes to celebrate birthdays and just because. So when I got engaged in 2019, I asked how could I order a cake for my wedding. The owner told me just give them a few days notice and they could do it. Great! That was the idea for our October 2020 wedding -- and then Covid happened. So we went ahead and eloped at home and ordered a small naked cake. Perfect. We postponed our bigger affair due to the pandemic and it was scheduled for November 2021. Again, we knew we wanted their cake to be our cake. I requested a 2 tier salted caramel drip cake with salted caramel and wedding cake layers. I also ordered an additional salted caramel sheet cake for the wedding and a chocolate cookies and cream drip cake and cupcakes for the rehearsal dinner dessert. Because we our event would take place while they were closed, we received our desserts 4 days beforehand and froze them. They held up perfectly!! One frequent question we've gotten since the wedding was "Where did you get this cake?" My mama knew! Thank goodness for Cupcake People. My best friend is getting married in April 2022 and told me she was going to go to Cupcake People for her cake. My wedding planner grabbed a salted caramel cake after the wedding because it was so good. We are thrilled to create more Cupcake People fans! I am a long-time customer of Cupcake People since their grand opening years ago. I have never experienced bad customer service nor baked goods before. I am unsure if the bakery is under new management or what but the few past visits have been horrible. I purchased a slice of the red velvet cake today which tasted HORRIBLE. It appears the cake was burned bc of the burnt taste with a strange coconut taste and the icing was not the normal cream cheese or buttercream icing that is normally used. I hate to leave such a bad rating but the price of the slice and time to travel to the shop I expect a lot more out of Cupcake People read more

Best customer service! My mom and I have the same birthday however I live in CA and she is in GA. I had multiple questions and requests for cupcakes to be delivered to her and they accommodated everything. I wish I could have tried them because they look fabulous. This review is 8months overdue. We were just headed home Coming from discover mills from shopping. My daughter's and I doing our usual Mom/girls weekend decided on trying out the cupcakes here. I'm serious about my red velvet so that's the first one I tried! It was red velvet, but not as fresh baked and kinda dry, but I ate it anyway. The bacon and pancake cupcake was good! The smores cupcake was also says my girls. I believe it was the owner who told us of the different flavors, she also was the cashier. (Cute short hair cut) she was helpful and pretty nice. I took a few pics in front of the Huge cupcake mural on the wall. I almost forgot to used my yelp check in discount. :) I gave my phone number to join the cupcake club (hope that's the name.) Buy so many get one free. I have been meaning to give them another try. I wish they had a big lighted sign like krispy kreme letting you know when they are fresh and ready! Overall, I like this place. I used to go here all the time before I discovered other cupcake bakeries.. The only thing I hate to say is that some if not most of their cupcakes differ ONLY by frosting, disappointing that they are just plain white cakes with like a generic birthday cake frosting or a chocolate cake with peanut butter on it and you call it pb cupcake then the other cake is the same choc. Cake with like chocolate frosting n drizzle or something on it and all of a sudden it's something else. It would be better if every cake had it's own individual uniqueness. The chocolate flavor was too strong. Cupcakes used to be the best around. Now they are only ok. I received a 20%off coupon. Once I got there I was told I had to spend a certain amount which was not on the coupon. It actually said just on your next purchase. Nothing about a limit. I asked about a coconut cupcake and was told that they can make it which only takes 5 minutes but only if I'm ordering a half dozen. WTW? It seems like it's all about big money. I went here to get cupcakes for my best friends birthday. I ordered a dozen cupcakes and a few cupcake toppers for $37.50 with tax. I was disappointed walking in because they only had about 3 flavors on display. However, after talking to the lady working there she said that most of the flavors would only take a few minutes to put together from the back. We waited about 10-15 minutes after we ordered the dozen because about half of the cupcakes had to be made from the back. When she put the cupcakes in the box it didn't look as sturdy as the boxes that are used at other cupcake places like Gigi's cupcakes, but I didn't really think much about it at the time. I was a little annoyed when we checked out and had to pay for cupcake toppers because most other places include them for free. I noticed that the lady put a sticker on the box when she checked us out and put it into the bag. Little did I know that the sticker said in small print "no refund, for damaged cupcakes". I had no way of knowing because the lady who checked me out did not mention anything about poluciee put the box in the bag before I got a chance to read it. Fast forward to the evening, when my best friend opened up the box of cupcakes at her party, she screeched. I thought she was excited at first, but soon found out that ALL of the cupcakes were smushed and completely ruined. It looked like one big gob of cake and frosting. Please see the attached photo to see how terrible the cupcakes looked. What was really upsetting was that I was going to return them but my friend found the sticker that said no refunds. It was extremely upsetting because I was very very careful with the cupcakes and spent a decent amount of money on them. The cupcake holders inside the box were absolutely terrible and I think the lady should have warned me about how flimsy they were. I would recommend going to Gigi's Cupcakes in Norcross instead. read more

I tried here once before. I tried a banana pudding and pineapple ones. I can tell they are very flavorful and well-crafted recipe, especially for the icing to impress the customers. They have an awesome array of different flavors to grab people's attention to turn them into the repeaters. But the problem was, they were very dry because I got them at night, maybe close to the closing time. I felt like I was eating 2 days old leftovers. Their cupcake display on the cupcake stands are very pretty and appeals to your appetite. But none of those a cakes are covered by glass lids or covers on the stands. The bare cupcakes are sitting on the bare display all day. In other words, they are exposed to the dry air, possibly airborne illness and employees saliva flies out of their mouth as the talk over time. As much as those crafted cupcakes were impressive, they should be more careful and responsible for handling the edible merchandise. I didn't think it was a good hygiene. Most of bakeries, even Waffle House cover their cakes and pies with some protective glass or acrylic covers or lids. I don't know why they slack on the final stage of "quality control". I think it's important for any licensed bakeries to provide fresh, safe, edible, and satisfactory products, no matter what time customers visit the store and buy the baked products. That's their job to perform a constant quality control to maintain the products good all the way through a day, any given time. read more

Visited here on the recommendation of Yelp! Wanted to grab cupcakes for one of the girls on my team for her bday. I needed to find the closest cupcake place to work so that I could return expeditiously. Found this place and was excited. Walked in and it smelled like pure bliss. It was as if I found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. OH MY! The smell was absolutely angelic. I think I floated from my car to the counter. LOL! They are closed on Sunday's and Monday's so I wasn't able to try out the cupcakes until this past Tuesday. They had a pretty decent variety of cupcakes available that day. I decided to try the red velvet, the hawaiian, and the white chocolate macadamia. All of them were delicious. Each cake was consistently moist and there was just the right amount of frosting on each cake. I'm craving their cupcakes right now as I'm writing this review! As promised I'm updating my review. I still love their cupcakes! I bought gender reveal cupcakes for the hubby and I to find out the gender during dinner. Not only was the presentation what we've come to expect, the center was no super icing-y and it didn't affect the overall sweetness of the cupcake (which I love). I do have to add that I don't like sickly sweet cupcakes so I believe these cakes are perfect! The service is always top-notch (friendly, professional, and kind). Also, my cupcakes didn't topple over like another reviewer's. I drove all around Atlanta and Tucker running errands, then to Macon so placing them on the floor is the best option. But I've never had that issue with any of my cupcakes or cakes. My co-workers (in Macon) loved the cupcake and can't wait for the baby's shower to have more of them. They are located across from Discover Mills mall, in the LA Fitness shopping plaza. They seem to have the lowest prices around as far as cupcake shops go. $2.65 each for a decent size cupcake. Not jumbo, and small. Just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth. They no longer offer mini cupcakes. Frosting to cake ratio is perfect. This place rotates different flavors daily and has Facebook deals. Gift wrapping and delivery available. The staff is friendly and very professional. Seating is limited. I highly recommend this place for cupcakes! You will not be disappointed. PS. A three dollar ticket to tastebud heaven!!! My Sweetheart is turning 65 this week and I'm going all out for him. Part of that was to have a luncheon on Saturday and for some reason, cupcakes popped into my mind as the perfect dessert. After researching I decided on the Cupcake People and it was the best decision! I went online and ordered eight in different flavors and four liquor infused cupcakes several days before the luncheon-Easy peasy. I picked them up the day before and asked if they can be frozen (answer is yes) in case I might have one or two leftover. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?! There wasn't a crumb left and my husband is clamoring for more and we are not dessert people-that's how delicious they are! Every flavor we tried, from the salted caramel to the German chocolate were perfection. The cupcake itself is moist and full of flavor and the icing made me want to moan with pleasure. The four liquor infused disappeared first and it's not a "hit you in the face" alcohol flavor, it's a wonderful compliment to an already terrific cupcake. These cupcakes were delicious but had too much sugar in the icing which made them taste a bit out of balance with the cake itself. I had to take off the icing to eat the cake.
