The space is filled with sweet treat, some seating, and a full menu with both sweet and savory items. I had the grilled cheese (no meat on Friday for me!) which came with a tomato soup and I got a peanut butter brownie for dessert. All were delicious and I look forward to trying to trying more items. This place was a cute unique gem in the neighborhood We came here originally to try the Break coffee rosters nearby, but found out they don't have any food so then we literally walked from there to this place and omg I'm so glad we did! The staff here are so sweet! It feels so welcome here and I loved every minute being here to the aesthetic to the abundance of treats wow!! We bought two cake slices: strawberry and Neapolitan flavor (which is so unique to me). Today, I went by for the first time and was not disappointed. I ordered the Turkey on wheat,Thai chili chips and cookies for dessert. Unfortunately, the last three cakes we ordered all had decoration errors. While I understand that mistakes can happen, it is disappointing when the same issue continues to occur. What was most frustrating was my conversation with the owner, Maddy. Rather than acknowledging our concerns or apologizing for the repeated mistakes, she suggested that perhaps this was not the right bakery for us and stated that she could not issue a refund. To be clear, I was not asking for a refund. I simply explained that, after multiple disappointing experiences, my mother deserved an apology and some form of compensation for the inconvenience. I also shared that the repeated dismissiveness toward our concerns has left me feeling uncomfortable and questioning whether our experience has been influenced by the fact that we are Black customers in a predominantly white area. Whether intentional or not, the lack of empathy and unwillingness to address our concerns made us feel that our satisfaction as customers was not valued. Mi amor and myself had stop by this place grab some light for brunch before we go catch the demon slayer movie with some of our friends and I have to say it was really nice and cute! I love the atmosphere and the aethistics of the place. Their pastries looked like they were made with love! Very disappointed with this company. The decorator was forcing my MIL to pick out specific decorations for the cake up charging her for every decision. To make it easy after going back and forth several times she sent her the picture from their own instagram page to recreate. Below you will see the $200 cake we received. Yes we had to prepay and tip. I contacted them about the issue in hopes they would resolve professionally. They have not returned any emails. So after my third week of not hearing anything I wanted to warn the community about how rude, overpriced, and just plain bad this place is. When I saw Blue Rooster's Mother's Day cakes on Instagram, I just had to have one! My family was planning a backyard picnic for Mother's Day and I wanted to add something sweet to the table... literally. It's been years since I've been to Blue Rooster, so I thought it was the perfect time to revisit. I called about a few days ahead and pre-ordered the 8-inch tall cake that serves up to 15 people. Strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting is their best selling cake, so I went with that. The nice lady over the phone gave me some options for pick-up dates and times. I chose Saturday at 1pm. At the time of pick-up, BR was only offering curbside pick-up. They were not allowing patrons inside the bakeshop, but have opened it up for takeout shortly after Mother's Day. I arrived after 1pm and parked in one of the many parking spots that were clearly marked for curbside pickup. Each spot was assigned a number and had signs with the bakeshop's phone number. I called as soon as I parked, gave them my name and the parking spot number I was in. A gentleman brought out the cake to my car within minutes. The process was super easy and went smoothly. The cake was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos they had on their Instagram page. It retained its shape and design very well even while I ran a few errands in the heat. It still looked lovely the next day. The cake was around $80 and was worth. every. penny! It was a hit at the Mother's Day picnic and was enjoyed by all. The cake was moist, and the cream cheese frosting was plenty sweet, but not overwhelming. It was just right. I definitely treated myself to a few slices throughout the following week. They have the very best treats and their cakes are so beautiful. You can stop in and have their chicken salad sandwich they are probably most known for that is fabulous. If you're ever doing jury duty and need to grab lunch it's a nice break from the court house but also they are quick at getting orders out and you can also stop in and order treats to go and get them right then and there. And they even have their own parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding a parking lot. They usually only have what they put out and once it's sold out then it's sold out. The process was seamless, and we encountered no issues. Madison contacted us via email and requested some information from us. She promptly booked us for the tasting. We met at the Monroe location, which was charming, and Madison arrived on time and fully prepared. She actively listened to our ideas and drew exactly what we described on paper. We were impressed with her exceptional attention to detail. Her expertise, informative responses, and confidence helped alleviate our anxiety and put our minds at ease. On the day of the wedding, Madison arrived on time and well prepared. She completely decorated the cake table as promised and everyone was impressed by her work! The wedding cake that Madison produced was an exact replica of what she had drawn on paper. Not a single detail was missing, and it was so beautiful that it left everyone saying "WOW"! We had ordered large cupcakes for the guests, and they were both beautiful and delicious. The cakes blew us away, and they tasted even better than we expected. You could really taste the freshness! For our spring wedding, we picked six flavors of cupcakes - strawberry, key lime, lemon pound, banana pudding, Oreo, and Italian cream. Our guests enjoyed Old Fashioned Strawberry, Oreo, and Key Lime Pie cupcakes the most. The Lemon Pound and Banana Pudding cupcakes were also popular among them. We had ordered an excess of cupcakes, so our guests went back for seconds and even thirds! By the end of the night, only 20 cupcakes were left - all of them Banana Pudding and Italian Cream. We gave some cupcakes as gifts to our vendors and took some home. It was a happy ending to a wonderful wedding celebration! After the ceremony, we asked some guests which flavors they enjoyed the most. The Old Fashioned Strawberry was the clear winner, followed by Key Lime. My personal favorite was Italian Cream, while the Groom's favorite was Oreo. The vendors said their families devoured the cupcakes they brought home and everyone kept asking, "Where did you order these cupcakes from?" We were proud to announce that we got them from our favorite bakery in Monroe, GA. Every guest got to enjoy their favorite flavor and try something new, and nobody was disappointed. We don't live near Lawrenceville. When we pass by, we always stop at the Blue Rooster on West Pike, but not anymore, I think. Ambiance is OK, but primarily targets women. Chairs are uncomfortable. The tables appear to have been made using recovered parts and plywood. Eating out on the sidewalk tables involves diesel smoke and constant traffic noise. (I recall downtown Lawrenceville fondly but it is much changed,) We used to love the Blue Rooster for their chocolate and coconut cakes -- 3 or 4 layers and gooey, rich frostings between. Now, the cakes are ... cakes, no better than those supermarkets make. Was there coconut in the coconut cake? Their sandwiches were good, but nothing special to justify their high price. Lunch and dessert for 4 = $95. Blue Rooster's service has never been very good, but it has deteriorated from what I recall in the past ... no smiles, no 'Thank You'. You will need to figure out the traffic pattern if there is a line. You have to go get your food and it will be cold by the time you hear them call your name, then pick your way through others waiting for their cakes and food take-outs. Plastic utensils -- Ugh! Tiny paper napkins. Plastic containers. You will need to clean your table before and bus your table after you eat. The cupcake was moist and airy , The 7 layer bath was only second to my grandmas but truth be told I never had to pay for grandmas so maybe that's the edge . All in all nothing disappointed and I 100 percent now have a new go to bakery. Side note apon leaving I saw the have soup I was told it was made there and today was Turkey Chili so I had a bowl to go, only had two bites before sticking in fridge but it was amazing flavor , seasoning all of it was spot on. Lemon middle part is gooey and chewy! Peanut butter Reese's whoopie cookie - two cookies with peanut butter icing in the middle. Too much going on. I had to take the icing off, but the cookies were good consistency and very peanut-y. Overall, i love that all their bars are corner pieces. Corner pieces are life!
