Finally! Glad to finally be getting around to writing this review. I visited Jackson, MS back in September. I am a Californian! Going to Mississippi was no easy task. One of my main concerns aside from the humidity and being the South was the quality of their coffee. Coming from a place like San Francisco where coffee is essentially at every corner whether it be a Peets Coffee, Blue Bottle or a Mom and Pops coffee places I am a fan of coffee and I am a snob about it! My first day in Mississippi I spent most of my time looking for coffee, the humidity did not phase me! I needed my fix! At the hotel that I was staying one of the workers recommend I tried Cups. I went to Cups and just the atmosphere shocked me. I felt like I was back in my beautiful cold and foggy San Francisco. When I got to the register I asked the Barista what he recommended and he recommended a Blondie! Blondie was a great coffee, even though I am not a huge Caramel fan, but I thought would give it a try. For the five days that I was in Jackson I went to Cups twice a day. Quinton (I believe this is how you spell his name) was such an amazing barista, but was also really helpful in giving me an insight of Mississippi. Really enjoyed speaking with him. I doubt I will be back to Cups since I don't have any plans to visit MS anytime soon, but for those of us who are coffee lovers and are in MS I highly recommend you give Cups a try! :) read more

I understand wanting to defend your employee, but your response completely missed the actual issue. My frustration was never about the employee's age -- it was about how the situation was handled and the lack of basic customer service afterward. If an employee is old enough to work customer service and represent your business, then they should either be properly trained to resolve simple issues or have management available to step in and make it right. That responsibility falls on the business, not the customer. I paid for my drink, left a tip, and politely asked for it to be remade because it was watery and not made correctly. Refusing to remake it over "wasting product" was disappointing on its own, but the defensive response afterward made the experience worse. Especially considering another Cups location confirmed the drink should have been remade without hesitation. After supporting Cups for over 10 years, I expected a little more accountability and professionalism instead of excuses. Unfortunately, your response only reinforced why I left the review in the first place. read more

Tea was great, although overpriced Service friendly. Ambiance shi%%y because ppl are allowed to use their electronic devices to intimidate others. Just about confirmed in video. Complicity of staff & others is shameful. read more

Just found this in my drafts! We were here on December 28 in the morning. Very disappointing experience. I came home to MS for the holidays and was excited about taking my boyfriend to Cups. Boy howdy, this was NOT the location to go to. The barista was snippy with us; we were waiting awhile to to order but we never said anything, we just waited patiently while she refilled containers but she acted like we ruined her day. The she rolled her eyes and huffed at me when I asked what type of milk they have. I have issues with my vision and couldn't read the writing on the board. Have been back home several times since and have gone to other locations instead. This one was truly terrible service and the coffee was noticeably poorer quality when compared to other Cups locations. read more

Coffee was good, service was not. After a lady whom received a coffee they didn't ask for whether or not it was wrong the employees should have at the very least been aware mistakes happen but they argued with the lady about the contents of the order versus solving the problem. Afterwards the two employees talked bad about her whenever she left. Do not recommend. read more

The only downfall was all of our drinks were lukewarm, not super hot. Dirty chai and vanilla latte were pretty standard.

One of the worst cappuccinos I ever had. It was soooo hot, I had to wait for 15-20 minutes to drink it. The coffee beans tasted very bad, too dark roasted (nobody even asked me what kind of roast do I want). The place was very dirty, not clean and very unpleasant to sit there. My friend worked here and use to tell me that this is the best coffee place around here. Well, after trying, I can definitely say, that she was wrong or she never had a good one)) Cappuccino in Elvis is 100 times better (but I don't like this fact that portion is soooo small). read more

Cups, a staple of the Jackson community, had always been a popular place for local residents to grab coffee, study, and do work. So upon stopping by this Flowood location, I was enthusiastic about the quality I was about to receive. That, unfortunately, wasn't what I got. The seating areas were decent, albeit, with some tattered and awkwardly placed furniture. When I ordered my coffee, a small vanilla latte, it wasn't too warm, and, in this time of COVID, they also didn't place a lid of on my coffee, but rather had a station for us to place our lid caps and cup warmers on. Usually, this would be totally okay, but during this pandemic, we shouldn't be touching other items that every patron comes in and touches. The bathrooms were also not the most clean, and the cheese danish they handed me was placed in plastic wrap and wasn't warmed up. While the coffee tasted good and the ambience was nice, outside of that, this coffee shop was pretty lackluster. If you're in the Jackson area, stop by one of the many other far better Cups around the area for your caffeine fix. read more

With all the 4 star+ reviews I was hoping that this was going to be a really nice espresso cafe. I stopped here when I was in the area to try to get some work done while drinking a coffee. I was honestly not that impressed by the espresso. It might just be my tastes but I had high expectations. I ordered a cappuccino and it wasn't the best, I didn't end up finishing it. Like most coffee places I'm sure they have other coffee orders that might be more of their specialty. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to stop here again if I was in the area. read more

People in Mississippi just go googoo-gaga over this place and I'm really not sure why. Since I'm out of luck as far as SBUX is concerned when I am here visiting family, I'm pretty much forced to use Cups to get my iced coffee fix. Now, there is a SBUX inside of Target, but it is awful, awful, awful... I will never return there. The first time I was here, I ordered my iced coffee exactly like I do at SBUX. Well, I tried to. The sizes are different and I wasn't sure of how many pumps to use of the caramel and toffee syrup. What I ended up with was WAY too sweet. The cup was about the same size, so I figured the pumps would be about the same. Not so. The next visit, I had them put way less syrup and I at least ended up with something I could drink. The barista seemed annoyed with me because I wasn't familiar with their sizes. Excuse me for having to take a moment to try to do the conversions and she wasn't even attempting to help me at all. She just stood there glaring at me as if to say "would you hurry up." They do have plenty of comfortable seating here with free wifi. Seems like a good place to sit down with your laptop if you need to get some work done. If you order one of their regular drinks straight off the menu, maybe it's fine? I don't advise going in here with a specialty order if you're from out of town and are a SBUX person. It's also hard to find parking close to the entrance because it's in a shopping center and there's no drive-thru. If you're in a hurry, this could really be a problem. 3 stars why? Their espresso was ok. My drink order is just a black Americano. The real reason for the bad ranking was the mediocre espresso PLUS a styrofoam cup. How in the world is a places that's named "Cups" use styrofoam cups; the worst of cup material. I feel like I'm at an AA meeting in a church basement when I'm drinking out of styrofoam. A quaint little coffeehouse located on the corner of the shopping center. Not much parking in front of the building but plenty in the shopping center parking lot, who couldn't use a little walk anyway . The barista was friendly, and didn't have to wait very long at all. Spend your money at Starbucks, Mocha Mugs or any other coffee shop! This place is slow, the service is lousy, the place is dirty and the baristas are rude! Really, service with an attitude like you are doing me a favor? Nope, won't get my money again! Place is set up like a lounge which would be cool if it was actually worth a $&@! This is about Cups Flowood only. In general, I love Cups and prefer it to Starbucks any day. However, I just experienced the rudest service at Cups Flowood of any restaurant I've ever visited. The word hateful comes to mind. She appeared annoyed she had to stop talking to her friend to take our order after 3 minutes of ignoring us. As soon as she took the order she turned her back and began to complain to her friend about her neighbors. I never write reviews, but this left a very unfavorable impression. read more

Let me say that I am NOT a regular coffee drinker. For some reason the coffee lingo intimidates me and I usually feel rushed and unsure the rare times I go to a coffee shop. When I decided to go to Cups to get some work done, I was hoping for more of a family room feel as you can get at some coffee house's. This felt like a chain coffee house. I still stayed and got work done, but it didn't draw me back. Their coffee selection is good and they make a delicious latte. But there was no other food, not even snacks so bring your own snacks for studying. They do have free wifi, you must ask for the password.There are plenty of tables and a couple comfyish chairs. Would rather find a less-chain feeling coffee house for the future, but this works in a pinch. read more

This is one of the better Cups in the area in my opinion. When I'm running errands in the Flowood area I enjoying stopping by for a hazelnut latte or a nice iced coffee. Let me go ahead and say this. I worked in the restaurant industry for almost 5 years so I know what it is like to have an "off" day. But, with regards to this particular "Cups Espresso Cafe" location, I have never had a good experience. I figured I would give them several chances before offering a "bad review" but each time was worse. I'm not going to carry on, but I will say: The service was awful. No smiles. No "Hey, how are you?". The girl took my order, threw my change to me on the counter, and after she made my coffee she put it down at the very end of the counter where I couldn't see it and didn't bother to tell me, so essentially I waited an extra 10 minutes on nothing. I strongly believe in boycotting so I will never return to this location. If there was a rating option with no stars, I would have selected that. Sorry, but major thumbs down for service. I like I said, it has been like this every time I've visited them which was on 4 separate occasions. read more

I'm a sucker for a good coffee house and cups is just that. Any location you choose they will have their own distinct vibe of the neighborhood they are in. They got many locations but each and everyone feels like an independent one so you don't loose that coffee house feel. This one is very artsy meets hipster meets grunge...very reflective of Fondren and the neighborhood. I love their seasonal drinks and look forward to them. read more

I've visited here several times to study and have received great drinks and friendly service every time. I do bring headphones to block out external noise, though. I love many of their seasonal drinks, as well as the Cup's originals, like Blondies, Turtles, etc. The iced chai latte is a great non-caffeinated drink,too! read more

This Cups location needs some work. The person that took our order was nice; however, the person making the coffee was coughing everywhere, not washing her hands, and had an unclean appearance. The store was filthy! The counters, tables, and chairs were not wiped. The chalkboard menu even had splatters of food/coffee on it. The floor behind the counter was filthy and coffee beans were scattered all over. We also had to wait about ten minutes for our order. It wasn't even that busy. :( read more

As a first timer to this Cups on Lakeland drive in Flowood, MS at 7:20am, I must say I'm never going back. The service I received was awful. I was taking a business call and walked up to the counter, placed my client on hold, and ordered. The barista on staff had the nastiest attitude. I wondered why and then I saw a sign that was a meme saying something to the affect of "Don't come to the counter on your phone!" The last time I checked this was a customer service business. I understand if I'm rude and not listening but she had my attention as I placed my call on hold. I asked for a muffin warmed, and she snapped back... "My microwave is broke!" When she asked me if I wanted a copy of my receipt I said no and she took the original and slammed it in the register. No option to tip (which I would have still given her some kind of tip). I then heard her talking to other customers about how she would never be on her phone while ordering. I'm visiting family in town across the street from this place and she never has to worry about me coming back. As someone who loves to go to coffee shops and enjoy the service, this was not the way to go. read more
