It isn't as big as Taz Comics, but I've managed to find a few missing issues here that I couldn't find elsewhere. Comics are pretty well organized, but ask for help if you can't locate something, or you need help bringing down one of the heavy comic boxes. Pricing is generally reasonable for back issues (i.e. within +/- 50 cents what other places are charging). But, I have noticed some inconsistencies; one time, a comic I wanted that was in the back issues section section was more expensive than the same comic in the current issues section. Obviously, I grabbed the cheaper one. Toys, action figures, statues, busts and other collectables are also available for sale. However, you might want to check online first to compare prices. They also have a bunch of Funkos, including some rare ones that are priced accordingly. I don't collect Funkos, so I have no idea if prices are market value or not. Big Pete's is obviously a family run business as I sometimes see what seems like several generations of the family helping out at the store. Staff are generally friendly and helpful when asked questions. Free parking is available nearby, but may be difficult to find on the weekends if the weather is nice. COVID restrictions may require that you wait outside to get in as they only allow for a few customers at a time. Luckily, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they are closed Sundays, meaning the only time I can go is on Saturdays, which is usually a busy day.

I went through about 12 boxes and 3 stacks of golden and silver age books and ended up buying 12 comics. Prices were fair, but the best part is their comic grading is spot on! So many dealers today badly overgraze their books, but these guys know what they're doing. They sell slabbed books too. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Kept shouting in the phone because he or the person the phone was having cell service issues. Loud enough everyone in the store could hear. He proceeded to yell at his employees asking for someone to get him another phone. The nice guy at the front ran to get him a comic because he misheard. The guy yelled at the guy saying he "asked for a damn phone". Ruined my experience and I decided not to support the business.

Plus they have DVD, Blu-ray and even laserdisc. Counter gent was an old school movie geek like myself and was super fun to chat movies and the like with. I even headed off to the new sales Videomatica store afterwards and since I bought very little, went back to purchase more including a lessor-seen but reasonably priced Atom Egoyan collection of early films. (They covet the greats!) This store has it all in both rentals and sales - both of which are reasonable. LOVE THIS STORE!!!!!

On-street parking is always available for a quarter, with grocery and liquor store on same block plus quick eats across the street. Browsing with friends is priceless. There is no icebreaker like proposing and then having to defend the potential awesomeness of "Krull" from 1983. Staff are fittingly knowledgeable and casually geek about the films. Price is high. Late charge (over 7 days for regular titles) is just 50¢/day.

Small place makes interacting with friendly staff unavoidable…read more To say this place is small is an understatement. It's about the size of my living room. That said, they manage to pack a lot into this tiny joint. Right in the middle of the store are huge storage bins for back issues of comics. Underneath the bins are more long boxes filled with comics. Everything is clearly labeled, making things easier to locate. Most labels are by character name (i.e. Green Lantern) or title name (Justice League, X-Men). You might have to do a little digging, however, as multiple volumes/series are lumped together under one heading. When I couldn't find something specific, the staff were quick to jump in to help me find what I wanted. Along the side walls are more back issues. Along the back wall are the current issues for the week/month. The counter along the left has glass display cabinets featuring high-priced comics under lock and key. Statues, toys, memorabilia, artwork, action figures and Funkos are displayed for sale throughout any and all available spaces. Price-wise, they are pretty fair. They didn't seem to jack up the prices of variant cover back issues like some other stores do. And, when I purchased over $250 worth of stuff, the owner, John, gave me a break on the price of a few items. They recently hired some new staff, and they are slowly re-organizing everything to better utilize the limited space. But, with 1000's of comics, it's a work in progress. This is the first time I've been there and I had no idea how many different items that they actually carry besides comic books. Action figures, sports cards, Toys, Games, Collectables, there was so much to see! We had come in to purchase plastic card protector sheets. The ones that have 9 slots per page, and typically go into binders. It is so hard to find these anymore ! They weren't cheap ( 30$ for 100 pages ) But they were really good quality. The owner was super friendly and helpful. I would totally return to the store when I have more time to check it out further. You should too!

This originally is the Ages 3+ store located in Metro Town. This store is truly run by geeks for geeks! Catching up on your comics? Trying to find missing copies of your comic? This is the place to find it! It is a nice sizable store as well because it has all the comics that a geek needs. It has figurines, and vinyl toys as well! They have a decent collection of Magic Cards, and Yugioh Cards as well for those Table Top geeks! They also have a bunch of D&D products and a large selection of board games. They have tables and chairs for geeks to sit and chill and play a game after purchasing the product. Or to read a comic! The store is literally a place to hang and chill! I wish they had more local events catering to the geeks, but they are increasing as a community which is very appealing! I come here to hang out when I have the time and to grab my comics!

Large selection of new and past issues of comics to browse from…read more This is the first comic book shop I have found in Coquitlam (Port Moody). It's kind of located away from the main strip in a non-descript building. Once you enter, head to the far wall for all the latest comics. On your way there, you'll also find aisles and aisles filled with boxes of old comics. A quick perusal had me finding 20+ year old comics available. Comics are very well organized with labeled partitions. I had no trouble locating some of my favorite titles. That said, there were many back issues missing from the title I was pursuing. Prices, however, we're good since they were virtually cover price for 3-4 year old comics. The staff are friendly. In the short time I was there, a few regulars dropped by and were greeted like long-time friends. This store also has a large selection of Dungeons and Dragons figures.....the kind that you paint and role-play with. Not my thing, but it's available if you like that sort of thing. Also, they have a small selection of action figures, statues and busts of comic book characters, although prices seem a bit higher than I have seen in Vancouver shops. All in all, a good way to relive your childhood one comic book at a time.
