I found her business on Yelp and just started asking for a quote. I ordered 2 dozens cupcake, a mix of chocolate and vanilla, and an 8 in. Chocolate cake and a matching smash cake which she threw in for free! Yay! Haha it fed all my guests of 40 people, some had cupcakes not the cake, some had both. We had good feedback too from our guests. The cake and cupcake wasn't too sweet, which is great! I know you can't really see all the amazing details of the mickey mouse cake and cupcakes, but the fondant work is amazing and super pretty! I also ordered my husband's birthday cake with Shauna a week prior to the big party and honestly, she doesn't disappoint. The red velvet cake was delicious! love her cakes and her work. So we had to cancel a planned B-day party due to the CoronaVirus as everything came to a halt just a few weeks ago... and well, when we asked our little one what she wanted for her birthday, she said "a rainbow cake." I called many bakeries in the area and a few had cakes, but weren't able to even decorate it with a rainbow... or they needed multiple days advanced notice... and then... I called Curious Cupcakes & Confections. I feel like Shauna was the only one that would just listen to me, not immediately dismissing the making of my daughter's Birthday wish. Shawna is the absolute best! She made my girls' Birthday cakes for their 1st and 3rd birthdays. Their birthdays are a week and a half apart and she did an amazing job with both cakes. Not only were they beautiful but they were so delicious! My younger daughter had a cookies and cream cake and her smash cake was vanilla. My oldest had chocolate cake with salted caramel cream filling. The Swiss meringue was absolutely creamy smooth and not too sweet.. perfect! Absolutely AMAZING! Curious Cupcakes made a two tier birthday cake for my boyfriends birthday and it was not only GORGEOUS, it was delicious as well. I was looking for a place to create a custom birthday cake and all the places I called, were either rude or too expensive. Curious Cupcakes had GREAT customer service and they weren't unreasonably expensive and the quality was beyond expectations. The cake was red velvet on the top tier and chocolate on chocolate on the bottom tier. The red velvet was very good, especially the filling! It turned out to be a cream cheese Swiss meringue. YUMMY! and the chocolate on chocolate cake was soft and moist and not too sweet. I've had left over cake for the past 3 days now and it's still wonderful. Now for the decorations. I originally had my boyfriend's surprise party planned on a certain day but last momentedly had to change it to the next. Beautiful decorating, but the cakes wasn't too great! I ordered a 10" red velvet cake for my daughter's birthday and 4 dozen cupcakes (white chocolate raspberry, carrot, chocolate, and strawberry). My daughter wanted an Ever After High themed party. Shauna was very accommodating and really nice to work with. She did a really beautiful job decorating and doing the colors I asked for. But the cake and cupcakes were very dry and the flavors were not good at all, except the white chocolate raspberry. The white chocolate raspberry was the only one that was most and edible, that a few people actually liked. The red velvet was very very dry and not edible. All the frostings were good, but the cakes itself weren't. I was upset that I ended up trashing half the cake and 2 1/2 dozen of the cupcakes. My son that loves chocolate cake could not even eat the chocolate cupcakes and a couple other kids says they did not like the chocolate cupcake. My daughter only licked the frosting off the red velvet cake and didn't even eat the cake. My sin and daughter are 5&6, so to them cake is cake (something sweet and exciting), so for them not to even eat it that kind if says allot. So if you'd like nicely decorated cakes, but not all about the flavor them I'd come here. read more

I never knew there was a such thing as a bad cake before I ordered a cake from here. It looked decent, except for the fact that the purple on my rainbow cake was black. Then, when I cut into it, I pulled out a nice long piece of hair. As far as the taste, so bad and dry, I was embarrassed to ask anyone to take a piece. I just cut the cake and left plates on the counter for anyone who wanted to try it. This was a few years ago so maybe she's doing better with more practice under her belt.
