Let me just preface that I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into when I signed up for their Enchanted Forest Giveaway. I was browsing through facebook and they so happened to come across my feed and I thought to myself, you know what? It's time for my girls to have a photoshoot together for their upcoming birthdays. We had just came back from Disney and they were star struck with all the costumes and fairytale story lines that I thought this would be a perfect excuse. I received a text message letting me know that I won the giveaway and that I was to schedule a phone appointment to get my children's details. After the phone call I did some research and at that time there wasn't much reviews on Yelp about this studio but after reading a few reviews I just told myself, bring the husband and let's commit. They followed up with text messages prior to the appointment (which I certainly appreciate) and had great communication with the staff. The day of the photoshoot (weekend), we pulled up into a semi empty business center and was able to find our way to the suite. We walked in and my kids were stunned with the magical décor and water fountain that greeted us. There was another family before us in the lobby and the parents were watching their children's photoshoot from a tablet. Everyone, this place is legit! My daughter's room was set up with their fairytale outfits and they LOVED their dresses. Every single person on the staff was very kind to my girls and when my youngest ventured off to play with the props one of the employees sat down and played with her. So the pricing. It's expensive and I'm not going to lie, even with the giveaway if I wanted to purchase additional photos it was going to be a hefty price. However, the experience my daughter's had, the quality of the props and photos, on top of that... the enhancements were well worth it. Update: I will leave my review at 4 stars. This is just my experience and can only give my personal review. Although I have received my very pricey "photo package", I was very pleased with the outcome/results. However, I had to initiate and be consistent with the communication and continually repeat and request a copy of acknowledgement / receipt for every single transaction: from booking the session, time of actual photoshoot session, the contract, the request to opt in/out of social media representation, etc. Throughout the whole process there was not one but a few people who you connect with. It's not the same person who is dedicated to your session. The location of the place was clean. All of the staff I interacted with were kid-friendly and welcoming. Had plenty of props and costume dress that was provided were decent (and looked clean). Always reassured me of all of my concerns and answered my inquiries to the best of their abilities. If you ask me would I recommend it to others, sure why not for that one in a lifetime experience. Would I do it again, probably not because the fairytale photo session theme my kids would have outgrown. read more

We where chosen for a free photo shoot off of a contest advertised on Facebook. So we didn't have to pay for the sitting (except for a $50 deposit) The studio staff are friendly and professional. The photographer was able to capture our cat's likeness very well. The studio felt secure and the rooms are private so we felt comfortable letting our cat out. She was comfortable in the space.  The photo package prices are expensive, more than what we where expecting. The salesperson was able to make a custom package for us however, and they do have payment plans available. (Part of the prize included a $150 discount as well) The salesperson did talk too much for our liking though. She asked far too many irrelevant questions about our cat, and our relationship with our cat. What was supposed to be a 45 minute to an hour Zoom session, ended up being nearly two hours. read more

I won a fairy contest for my daughter. The experience was fun and my daughter loved it. The photographers and helpers were amazing. Had my zoom to go over pictures and it was easy and the associate was not pushy at all. I was very happy with everything thus far, until I got the picture. Looks nothing like the photos this contest advertises. There is little to no artistry and I will not be showcasing this in my living room like the associate said is the best place for it. It's embarrassing to give this back to a client, I guess you get what you pay for since I just opted for the free session and a free 8x10. I give it two stars because my daughter did like the experience regardless of what the photo looked like. read more

I love pictures so I just had to try this photoshoot for my daughter. She had just celebrated her 9th birthday so it was the perfect opportunity when we were selected as one of the few from the Facebook giveaway. I really didn't know what to expect at first but after seeing the photos in the company's portfolio, it really got my daughter and I intrigued . Everything from the initial consultation, to the photo shoot and the photo viewing was seamless. I received great communication by text and email. My only concern was the price because although we were offered a free session and a canvas print, the digital photos costed more than I expected. Regardless, my daughter enjoyed the photoshoot and it really shows through the pictures. I will cherish these photos forever and we'll always remember this experience! read more

I was lured in by what I thought was a dog giveaway on Instagram, only to find out that it was a scam to get people to make a deposit of money. Not only was I misled, but I also had to go through the hassle of trying to get to Concord, even though I don't drive. It was a huge inconvenience for me and I felt completely taken advantage of. To make matters worse, when I found out that others had also been scammed by this company that's my friends in the dog community, I was shocked and frustrated. It's clear that they are preying on people's love for their pets and it's completely unacceptable. I tried to get my money back through my bank, but unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. I urge anyone considering using Curious Kids Photography Studio to think twice and avoid them at all costs. They are dishonest and only interested in scamming people out of their hard-earned money. Best photoshoot experience for my children, my babies could not stop talking about it ! The photographer captured candid photos that are my most favorite, the poses and background were very kid friendly and I cannot wait to share it with friends and family !! I wish I read the review after I checked in, then I would have asked for discounted photos. I almost didn't go to take the photos because my son cries in all of his daycare photos and they said that the age minimum was 4 years old. I told them that I had a 20 month old, and they said let's try and see, so I did. I walk into the office space, and the reception area is inviting with a flowing water fountain to keep the kids intrigued while they wait. I like air purifiers in every room because it makes you feel a little calmer about the current world climate. There is a box of toys in the viewing room which is great for little kids that are rambunctious and full of too much energy for any room. My son has had a few daycare photos which they take every six months. The sad thing is that he is crying in all the photos or he's mad and those are the ones that we buy. Anyway amazing thing about curious kids photography was that the photographer helped my son to be very comfortable. He was laughing. She took so many amazing photos. That was really hard to choose our favorite ones, if I had more dispensable income, I would love to take a photo of my son here once a year to see how he grows in different poses. I think it's really cool how they make the photos look surreal with ripples in the reflection and fire flies and butterflies in the air and lighting in the background. It really looks fantastical. BEWARE!!!! Finally had the time to post my experience about this scam and sketchy place. Entered the giveaway dog model call that they posted which is now called "dog model needed" which entitles 1 free 10' portrait and a $150 credit and a free photography session. I paid $150 for the REFUNDABLE deposit. Booked my appointment yada yada that's normal. Oh and remember our giveaway states a "magical forest experience!" Place: A quiet office plaza across from a motel 6 or some type of hotel. Not a great area, I had to text them that I arrived early, still waited another 5-10 min before they came out to get me. They brought me to a waiting room to sign a paper stating photo session rules yada yada, normal sure. Session: There were a photographer, and 2 assistants but I still had to be the one guiding my pup and we did a few photos together. My pup was nervous so another photographer, I'm guessing the more experienced person took over and was able to capture some photos quickly. Afterwords: They said done, and that they will set a zoom call to discuss the photos. Fast forward to zoom call with Mary. Showed me a slideshow and I did like the pictures, told me all about the packages. I knew my budget limit and stated I can't afford it yet she still tried to sell it to me to the point where the discounts went from 1900 to 600 and I still had to say no but was able to get a pending order for 10 prints in case I changed my mind. I still ended up getting scammed of paying an extra $70 on top of my refundable deposit with their $150 credit for ONE digital ($395 for ONE DIGITAL) After the call I looked over several receipts and it states that it's nonrefundable and that no changes can be done. HOWEVER, Mary didn't disclose about my free print until I went over all the previous emails, I realized that she didn't mention anything about what I could be getting through this giveaway, all she did was try to sell sell sell. I quickly let my dog mom friends know about this place and what happened. I found out they charged different people different DEPOSITS!! I had a friend got charged $100 for her deposit! Like WTH?! We were only 1 day apart from the purchasing date too. Long story short, make sure you have friends that are doing this "deal" you never know! Also they disclose my "brokenness" to my friends who confronted them. How professional... I ended up disputing with my bank about this fraud, they tried to scare me by calling multiple days straight before Christmas and sent over messages about how they're disputing back with evidence. They sent over a mutual rescission agreement where if I sign it I take back my words and not fight with them basically. I got my money back. SCREENSHOT OR SAVE every document you get because it expires :) Staff: Mary is not the person in charge and can not do exchanges/payment requests. 100% not recommend this studio. It is such a waste of time. - No timely manner: my appointment was 3pm. I arrived at the studio at 2:50pm and had to wait in an empty room until 3:35pm, then I had to remind the receptionist girl on my appointment and she said that the group before me was running over with their appointment, so I had to for until 3:45pm. - Inexperience: obviously, there photographers are very inexperience and unprofessional. I had a photoshoot session with my cats, and had to run around to guide the cat for them. One of the girl was just basically sit there and observe. None of them had experience taking cat photos and as I expected, the pictures turnt out ugly. - The zoom call to select is the photo was the most waste of time and annoying part of the whole process. There was a girl in my zoom session who asked me the questions that I already answered twice before the call. I already made it clear in the beginning of the call that I do not want to purchase any print, but she kept luring me to get one by asking me the size of the print I want, my address, my photo style, etc. I told her that I was told that I can select 2 digital photos for free, and she said they don't have that policy. And when I asked her to refund me the $150 deposit, she said she will only refund $130 and charge for $20 something fee which is very ridiculous because none of the other girls told me about this fee. All in all, I just wait for my deposit to be refunded as soon as possible. Overall a great experience! Won a giveaway put down $150 for a deposit, got that back & out of it ended up paying $100 to get 4 pictures that were totally worth it! Once you go in it's such a beautiful studio and setup / experience! Definitely once in a lifetime thing that you should definitely do for your children if you can afford it! She was very cooperative with my niece and I'm forever grateful for the memories well always have! It does get pricy if you want the whole 17 set of pictures they take, that would be a total of around $3000. Once again like I said too expensive if we hadn't have won it and my mom actually won this for her! We had an opportunity to participate in a photo session for my 4-year-old daughter. I was so excited when I found out we were able to do this for her because she loves everything about fairies and animals. The photographer greeted us and showed us to our dress room. There was a dress and flower crown for my daughter already set and ready for her to put on. She was so happy to see that her dress was her favorite color and she was so excited for the next step. The photographer was so sweet and patient, our daughter was super shy but she made my daughter feel comfortable and still was able to get really good shots! We were pleased with our experience here. A few weeks later, we met with Mary to view the proofs and the slideshow that they made for us with a beautiful song almost made me tear up. The innocence and sweetness of my daughter showed in all these photos. She had me pick my favorite photos and we were able to leave the Zoom meeting happy and content with what we picked out. I have a 4 yr old chihuahua named Jojo and she's my partner in crime so I was excited to be apart of this experience. Jojo came to me in 2019 after I had lost one of my childhood pets in 2018. I had a loving and loyal chihuahua who I got to spend 14 wonderful years with. It was devastating and I felt like my world fell apart. My brother came to me in 2019 saying his coworker had puppies. Shaina was so friendly and helpful when setting up the appointment and day of the photographer who worked with us was so patient & focused with the dogs! So far we've had nothing but a great experience with Curious Kids. They gifted my daughters a free session which included one free print and no obligation to buy anything else. I called to schedule our appointment, and they were super friendly and accommodating. I asked why they were giving something like this out, and they said to help build kids' confidence and see photos of themselves that they love. I thought that was really cool! No strings attached and just want to share something special with kids. When we arrived at the studio, it was very clean and quiet. They gave us our own room to get ready. My 5 year old had an outfit picked out for her that looked like a dairy angel and was based on her specific size. It was beautiful! Didn't have a smell to it was in really good condition. They also provided a flower hair wreath that was very clean as well. Because my second daughter is under 2 years old, they allowed her to be photographed together for free! Her outfit was not included and we dressed her up as a bee, it turned out pretty cute. The setting of the photo shoot is beautiful. It's like a woodland/mystical forest kind of thing with animals and other props. The photographer was very patient and calm with the girls. My 5 year old had a lot of requests and the photographer tried to accommodate all of her requests. Lastly, I had to reschedule our review appointment (where we go over all the photos) and they were happy to make this change for us. We haven't had this appointment yet to see the photos but we are very excited to see the results! read more

Let me start off by saying if I could give no stars I would. I entered a giveaway for an Epic Sports photo shoot. On March 19th I got an email/text stating that my child had been chosen and I would receive a $150 credit to spend on artwork/portrait of my choice (valued at $350). Everything sounded okay until they also needed a $150 refundable deposit. They stated it was to ensure we actually came to the appointment. It still didn't make sense to me but I paid it anyways since it was REFUNDABLE. The photo shoot was set for March 30th. We arrived and were greeted. It felt welcoming enough. However, our appointment was at 11:30 and we were in the waiting room until 11:45. The photographer was really sweet and seemed like she knew what she was doing. I don't recall her name but hopefully she realizes her talents and moves on to a company with integrity. Anyways the shoot took about 15-20 mins. We were directed to the front afterwards to schedule a zoom meeting. They showed me what date/times were available and there was literally only one date and time. I informed the lady that it wouldn't work as I would be on vacation so she told me she would have someone give me a call to schedule something at a later date. Got a call a few days afterwards and scheduled the zoom for April 14th @ 6pm. This whole process is already taking longer than expected but whatever. So the 14th approaches and I get a call around 4pm to let me know my zoom meeting has to be rescheduled because the person who shows the photos is out sick. At that point I'm annoyed because why wait 2hrs before like you had to have know prior they were out sick. Anywho another zoom call scheduled for April 18th @ 6pm. April 18th comes and I get a reminder on my phone. At this point I don't care about the photos. I'm just over the whole process and want my money back. So, I attempt to call them and let them know that, no answer. I text the number too and no response. I even sent an email to the gallery person and nothing. I'm like okay whatever I tried and then like 15-20 mins later I get a call letting me know that they will process the refund and it will take 5-10 business days and that I will receive one free digital file. They also followed up with a text since I didn't answer. An hour later I get another text telling me my zoom call has ended and to schedule another zoom. Mind you these "DIFFERENT" people are texting from the same number. (I honestly think they're all the same person because it just doesn't make sense and even when I talk with them over the phone they all sound the same) At the time I am aggravated because there's no communication and just ready to cut waters. This whole business is a circus and a scam. 5-10 business days pass so I reach out to them letting them know that I still haven't received my refund and that I will have to open a dispute with my credit card company. No response so I opened the dispute. Later that night I get a call from the company (didn't answer) letting me know that they contacted their customer service and that it would an additional 3-5 days and that if I open a dispute I would be charged a dispute fee. Trying to intimidate me not to open a dispute is wild. Anyways so I called my credit card company to talk with them about the dispute and they said that the merchant processed the refund but it's still pending. They advised me not to close the dispute until it has actually posted on to my account. The refund posted on my account yesterday May 4th so I contacted my credit card company to close the dispute. All and all I'm glad to be done with this company and their poor ethical practices. I also want to add that I never received my free digital photo. read more

I got lured into the pet scam like many other people. I saw their ad for a pet photo session and made an appointment. It was already kinda odd with the lady texting and leaving so many voicemails just to confirm the appointment. I got there and the staff were nice. They led us to wait in the waiting room until the photographer was ready. We were done in about 10 minutes which I thought was a pretty short time. I was ready to look over and choose photos when the informed me that I had to make a zoom appointment to review them. I got on Zoom with Mary for my appointment and she noticed that I was getting ready for work and suggested that we reschedule when I have time to really sit down and enjoy the photos. That was weird af but I agreed. When I finally got to see the photos about a month later, I was on zoom with Mary and Gurpreet. The proceeded to ask me a billion questions about what it is to be a dog owner blah blah. Then showed me the photos in a slide show to a cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love" and then asked me if I loved the music it was sooo corny. They proceeded to show me what a giant frame portrait of my dogs would look like on a wall, to which I informed them that I never had any intention of getting. The prices started at around $1100 and it would've been a couple hundred for all the digitals and a hundred or two for just TWO digitals ‍. I declined everything and told them that I wasn't aware of their prices. They kept trying to bargain with me to buy something. I just asked for my deposit back, which I got, minus $20 for some fee or whatever. Finally they agreed to give me one digital for a 5 star Google review. This was back in February and I've been deliberating over it for months but ethically, I can't write a false 5 star review for a scam. I did not enjoy the hour long presentation, I did not enjoy wasting my time and gas driving from SF, and I did not enjoy the gimmick/lack of transparency. While I kept declining purchasing the packages, they kept reminding me that these were top notch quality, blah blah, even after I told them that they look like photos that I've taken on my phone lol. Then at one point Gurpreet got annoyed with Mary when she wasn't staging the portraits right on the virtual wall. That was the only good part of the call I 1000000% could've gotten better photos from JC Penny for $100. And they spend waaaaay more time taking the photos. I'm glad my partner wasn't with me because we definitely would've laughed right on the zoom call. I thought it would be nice to help a company expand its clientele to pets since they had such great reviews for their kids photos, but -10/10 would not recommend for pets. I wouldn't even consider for kids tbh. read more

BEWARE! This place is a COMPLETE scam! There is zero transparency on the pricing until it's too late. There is nothing listed on their website nor anything in the small print on the paperwork. I have 2 mini pigs, and I thought it would be fun to get their photos updated. We've done photoshoots in the past for their social media. So I entered into their pet portrait giveaway and won. I spoke to a lady named Mary, and she kept going on and on about an "unforgettable," and "once in a lifetime experience" (RED FLAG). They asked me to pay a $150 REFUNDABLE deposit to book the time slot (I triple asked that the deposit is refundable). I drove from San Jose all the way to Concord. The studio is located in a small business complex, and it all looked pretty nice. The lady took me to a waiting room in the back, and then we were moved to a private room. The setup was pretty simple, and I do actually appreciate that the photographer and assistant were professional and did their best not to overwhelm the pigs. After the session, I was able to schedule a zoom call to preview the photos the next day. At my zoom call, I spoke to Mary again. The webcam on my laptop wasn't working, but she kept insisting that I get my webcam working, so she could see my reaction upon seeing the photos of my pigs. This is a RED FLAG! I've done zoom calls with other photographers, and I've never had to turn my webcam on. That was just weird. It also bothered me that she asked me the same questions about my pets again like we had never spoken before. Maybe it was for business purposes, since the call was recorded, but you would think that a photo studio like this would be excited for a rare opportunity to take photos of mini pigs and remember everything. It was a very "follow the script" sort of conversation. Upon seeing the photos, I was not impressed. I could have taken much better photos of my babies with my phone! Maybe it was because they never shot pigs before, but neither have the past photographers I've worked with, and their photos came out SO much better! These were just BLAH. Then Mary showed me the package options, and this is where they scam you! The cheapest option they have is just over $900 for 6 photos! ONLY 6!!! And their other packages cost well over $2000. I couldn't believe it. I asked about the a la carte options, and it cost $150/per photo. She said that my deposit of $150 could be used as credit to make it sound cheaper, but it really isn't. They really know how to target folks who love their pets and scam them. But I promise you there are way better photographers out there who charge half the price and you get more than 20 photos, retouched, along with other options. And their photos will be way more unique and memorable. I even told Mary that I've paid significantly less for pet photos, and this pricing is very far from my budget. She kept pushing the a la carte option, but I refused. I asked again if the deposit would be refunded, which was confirmed, and she also offered me 1 free digital photo to use for my social media. About 1.5 weeks later, I received the photo and saw the deposit refunded to my credit card. I hope this review will help others not fall for their trap. It was such a waste of time and gas. I won a free photo session through Instagram for my almost 2 year old that came with 1 free 8x10" print (supposedly valued at $1,000). The photo session was 20 minutes and went well but I had to wait a few weeks for the video meeting to review the photos. When the first meeting came up I ended up waiting for 30 minutes only to find out the art director I was supposed to meet with had left the company and I had to reschedule. The art director for the second meeting a couple weeks later opened the meeting on time but said she was running a little late and left me waiting for an extra 30 minutes before the meeting actually started. After viewing a slideshow of all the photos she started trying to sell me on the photo books. When I asked how much a basic photo book with 11 photos was she said "29.99" so I said "oh they're just $30" and she casually said "No, $3,000". So I asked her how much an individual 8x10" print would be and she told me $500. Even just getting the digital copy of a photo is $500. She said it's because of the editing that goes into it but adding fireflies and making objects glow does not take hundreds of dollars of editing and can be achieved by simply using a filter. I ended up having to repeatedly tell her that I only wanted the free photo that was promised with the photo shoot. They don't show any of their prices on their website and only bring up how much everything costs at the video appointment to review the photos for a reason. After learning what they were trying to charge me I completely regretted signing up for the contest to begin with. The whole thing is a giant grift. The photo shoot itself was nice but the process you have to go through afterward is ridiculous and the prices they try to charge you are absurd. Definitely not worth the trouble. read more

I entered a contest on IG for a free portrait and won! The staff contacted me and gave me all the information I needed for what Curious Kids Photography was all about and what to expect. It was very easy to schedule my session. When I arrived, the check in process was very easy. Michaela, the photographer, was incredibly sweet and kind. She walked me through poses with props. The session was quick and seamless. I have a unique style already, so I was happy that they let me wear the outfit I already had on. The follow up session on Zoom with Mary was also pleasant. I enjoyed talking with her as we reviewed my photos. She showed me a sample photo from my session where they added wings so I could see what it would look like. Funny enough, the photo the team selected was also my favorite and the one I ended up selecting for myself. Overall, it was an incredible experience. Thank you for this amazing opportunity. I won a contest for the photoshoot and my 6 year old son enjoyed the whole experience very much, they were very sweet and calm. (He's on the spectrum) You can watch the whole thing from a monitor in another room, which I enjoyed. The pictures were very expensive, and though they did try to upsell me, they were still nice and didn't make me feel bad for not spending more. I ended up letting go of my (refundable) deposit to get one extra photo. There were all pretty cute. read more

I got my 2 girls photo shoot done at Curious kids Photography. They are extremely professional and very well organized. Every family got a well kept changing room and the dresses they provided were cute, clean and looked great in pictures. The studio is well thought off with lot of props. My daughters had a great time at the studio posing for pic with all the prop. The photographer was very sweet with the kids and knew how to get the best of them. I had cat portraits done and it was a new experience for me. They are very communicative about what you need to do and had a very peaceful environment for my cat. The photos turned out awesome. Some of the photo packages are pretty pricey but they are willing to work with whatever budget you need to set for yourself and have lots of options. Over all fun experience. read more

My daughter was lucky enough to win a photo shoot by curious kids and she was so excited to become a fairy! The staff was so nice and considerate they already had her dresses ready but my daughter wanted a purple dress, they were lucky enough to pull one out for her. What an amazing experience for my kids and our family. The whole process at the studio was smooth and they really try to make you feel comfortable while there.
