Nick worked wonders on our poor neglected pond. We had not opened the pond in several seasons and it was a sad mess. The only ones happy about the existing conditions were the frogs - lots and lots of frogs. Nick came highly recommended by a landscaper that had seen his work and was really impressed. We were listing our home for sale and had to act quickly to make it presentable. Nick came through for us. In day he drained and cleaned the pond, refilled it, got the filters and waterfall working smoothly and safely relocated LOTS of frogs. That was 2-3 weeks ago and today the pond is crystal clear, healthy and a real showpiece. I cannot guarantee that the pond made the final difference but our house sold in 4 days. Initial encounter was very promising with Nick, he was responsive to my voice mail. Setup an appointment and came out. Nick is knowledgeable in what he does, however he is not a good business person and overcharges and thinks that by spending more time then anyone else he can charge top dollar. He spent longer than expected and had me spend an hour showing him my system and talking about business in general. I am always willing to give feedback and share my business learning. I was happy to spend the time with him since I was making an investment and trusted that he would be the one to maintain my system. When he was completed he was supposed to send me an invoice along with a contract for a year agreement. He never sent the invoice or the contract. One week later he showed up with an invoice and asked for a check to be cut. We are a business and don't just stop what we are doing to cut checks. But since he drove out, I asked my controller to cut a check for him. I then reminded him that if he could let me know what the monthly fees would be that would be great and we can move forward. Two weeks passed and I was ready for another visit. I contacted Nick and he responded by telling me that he would not be coming back out. Mind you, I have a very clean and professional setup in a nice office environment. I provide all of the supplies and answered any questions. He gave no explanation and I responded letting him know that it was unprofessional to leave a customer this way. I was very upfront with what I was looking for and he was very happy to give ideas and I was ready to move forward with getting a new design and new livestock. He got paid what he asked for and simply did not want to do the job. So after wasting 4 hours of my life and him charging me for the four hours and getting paid, I am back to square one and need to find a professional who will maintain my system. FYI... He even went as far as to tell me how he has jobs where he charges them top dollar for not really doing anything. Buyer Beware and educate yourself on what you should be paying for vs. what he charges. Just because you are good at what you do does not give you the right to overcharge and leave people hanging. read more

Excellent service. We had a minor emergency with a broken filter in a cichlid tank and I wasn't going to be home the next day to handle it. Nick came out first thing in the morning and fixed our filter, in addition to cleaning, testing, and adjusting the pH. read more

I set up my first saltwater aquarium myself, spent lots of money, and failed miserably. I could not keep the fish alive and had a real bad algae and diatom problem. I hired Nick to put me back on track. I had already spent so much money doing it wrong that I was frustrated and little resistant to some of the changes he suggested. But, together we set up a new tank and I used the old setup as part of the filtration system. There were some changes he suggested that I was resistant to, but he was right on all of it. He spent several hours do a thorough analysis of our tank and came up with a solution.
