Mixed reviews about the overall, but the food is tasty. We had a friendly server, but the order didn't come out all at once. And the drinks which we ordered first came out later, and after the food came out. They did drop off a caraf of water at the table, so we weren't thirsty. Liz ordered a mango margarita, and she enjoyed it. My mom ordered a mojito, but it also came out later and tasted more lemony than a mojito should. I ordered and Irani Chao Tea, and it was very cream and cardamom-y tasting drink...but even the large was very small. The foods were delicious. They came out slowly, but I guess it was worth the wait, maybe? Lol. Liz ordered a seasoned fried cashew chicken. We also ordered a paneer, a butter chicken, and a another roasted tomato and chicken dish that were all good. I also, ordered a medium spicy chickpeas dish that came after the rest of the food after I reminded our server. The naan was tasty but thin and kinda crispy. I guess maybe I prefer it a bit thicker and soft, but the flavor of the butter and garlic naan were good. The ambiance was very chill. They had indoor and outdoor seating. I heard this Indian restaurant opened up and had to try it. I had the chicken masala, medium spice, and it was perfect with the nan bread. The appetizers weren't bad either. This restaurant occupies where AJ's Diner used to be. It last sad to hear they shut down. Hopefully this place sticks around. Service was great. The place is super cute! Great location. The wait staff was friendly. The food was amazing! The only downside was the 15% added gratuity to each bill for dine in service. I was so excited to check it out and it did not disappoint! We kept it simple since it was our first visit: I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala -- perfectly creamy and mild, just how I like it. My husband had the Goat Vindaloo (medium spice) -- super tender and full of flavor. We shared Samosas that were crispy, golden, and so satisfying. Absolutely Love this new Indian Bistro. " Curry Bowl " is a real hidden gem in the back road of Cimarron. A very open space with an inviting British Colonial new Indian style. We tried their Garlic Naan and a savory Samosa with peas and potatoes. For entrees we had the Mix veg curry with a hint of a spicy curry sauce. The Lamb Passandra with tendered marinated lamb and a tomato based sauce was delicious. The chicken tikka masala cooked in the oven and slowly simmered with a creamy curry sauce and some Methi & bell peppers was out of this world. What a delightful surprise for our neighborhood - this is authentic Indian cuisine from the North and South bringing us some great flavors and spices from South Asia. Don't forget to try their desserts, I am normally not so much of a sweet tooth but their Gulab Jamoon with 2 spongy milky balls soaked in sugar syrup was worth a try. The food was almost perfect had the chicken masala, lamb korma, and goat biryani the lamb, and the chicken were delicious. The goat was extremely fatty and had numerous bones making it hard to enjoy. The naan was great as well. It was not what I was expecting, as it was extremely thin and crispy. The decor was nice but they had a leaking roof with just a bucket that was dripping wobbly tables that weren't wiped and not much for service you sit yourself they come drop off menus come back. First of all they did not open in time. Then I ordered, staff was friendly but complained of not making any money in tips so now if you eat in they charge 15% gratuity, no matter the size of your party. Next, I ordered a shrimp dish, which was delicious BUT I GOT 6 POPCORN SHRIMP and the picture clearly shows those nice ones you get when you order Chinese food! And for that price come on!!! Mixed feelings. Started out great. Waiter was friendly and welcoming when I ordered my appetizer. And the appetizer was fantastic! Only nit is that I asked for it spicy and it wasn't at all. It was paneer 65 and unusually for this dish had some cashews in it too. It went downhill from there. I had ordered the app while trying to decide on dinner. Took me a while to catch the waiter's eye. App had been delivered and I had eaten about half of it before I could snag her again. Got the palak paneer (spicy) and the fire naan. The fire naan is bland....I would just stick with the regular naan. Palak paneer is pretty good. But I don't know what I did to the waiter, but it was like a switch flipped. When she brought the food out she acted like I was annoying her, plunked it down and left as quickly as possible. Never took the empty app plate or even the menu so the table was pretty crowded. Not sure if I did something that ticked her off? You have to go up to the counter to pay and they add an auto gratuity and then ask for a tip on top of that, so watch out. read more

I am so disappointed to write this review. I worked downtown and loved the downtown location for lunch; the food and service are excellent at the DOWNTOWN location. The Cimmaron location needs immediate improvement. When we came in tonight, it looked like they had just been hit by a rush, and as someone with over a decade of server experience, I can understand. However, we waited for a menu and then a server. At the same time, I noticed all three servers behind the counter quibbling about table assignment, polishing and drying dishes, and expediting food (only to watch it be taken to the wrong table and come back to the window). I asked for a wine and beer menu, and the server rudely said, "We have a Cab and Chardonnay by Poppi." I noticed the bar lined up with other wines and asked about those. She cut me off, explaining that those were from a wine tasting, and included under her breath very sharply that she (the bartender, apparently) had not been invited. All right. Fine. We ordered a glass of wine and our food. Again, I have experience as a waitress and wine steward. I expect to be asked if I'd like a second glass as I had less than a quarter of my drink left when some of our food came out. That didn't happen. Our Malai Kofta came out with only three balls. I waved the server down to ask about the portion, but she never stopped at our table; she just answered while walking away that the portion was correct. Three Malai Kofta balls for what should be a $14.99 shareable portion? The Butter Chicken had a very sharp taste to it, more like Vindaloo than the melt-in-your-mouth flavor of Butter Chicken. The Chicken Vijayawada Biryani was fine, the flavor was great, though there was not a lot of chicken. All three plates had lower-than-expected protein portions- 3 balls, "Butter Chicken," so drowning in the sauce didn't even break the surface and Birayani with hardly any chicken. All this was to discover that the 15% gratuity is automatically included, and the same rude server that never even checked in with us after the meal was delivered pointed out the option to tip again. "Some people tip 20% for good service." I curtly said, "I tip 20% for GOOD Service." I didn't ask to speak to a manager. They were still so busy, even though we saw one indoor table walk out and two tables from the patio come in to remind the servers that they were outside and waiting for menus. The restaurant needs to hire a hostess/busser who should have been managing table assignments, cleaning tables, and preparing silverware. They also need someone to work on expediting, as the three servers often hover behind the counter at the window. We'll not be back and will continue to travel down Mesa to other, more established Indian restaurants that have reasonable portions for similar pricing and significantly better service. read more

This restaurant is the Worse. We went to dinner before our War Concert in El Paso,TX and we ordered the onion samosas and they served us egg rolled wrappers pretending to be authentic samosas. I tolerated that, ate our dinner that was more basmati rice than curry chicken, the last straw is chai tea in a Dixie cup. Do not eat at this restaurant . First time ever at this restaurant. Just drove by. Let's try it out. Food was great. Service sucked. Waitress came back to clarify our order 10 minutes after she took it, because she forgot or was confused. Then when our food arrived, (way after other people that arrive after us had gotten their food) it was the wrong order. So we had to wait longer to get our food. Here is the trick: They automatically add 15 % tip (I don't like that, I always tip pretty good, but it should be my option, my choice, and not automatic!) I know some people don't tip, but don't punish me for that. So, when we went to pay and I complained to the owner/manager about our bad service, a screen popped up for tip. So, I still wanted to tip (I am not that jerk that won't tip, but sucky service gives you less tip.... ) and I picked 10 %. Thinking that was fair for crappy service. But now we tipped 10 % on top of the 15 % (and actually tipped 10 % even on the taxes AND on the 15% tip). And they said nothing, just let me do it. Hint to the owner/manager: If I complain about your service, then I don't want to ADD more tip!! You should have said something!! Food was good. However service was very very poor. Took awhile for the food to come out. Entrees did not come out at the same time... my husband and I had our food waayyyy before our toddlers. Also don't intervene with someone else's kid. My son was fine sitting on his feet because the table was a little high for him and no boosters or high chairs were offered... If you're so concerned about the chairs then tell the owner to buy sturdier seating for customers.
