Everything was terrible. Our teas stayed without ice and no refills. The employees (waitresses) stayed behind the counter the entire time. Our waitress sat us where there was a high chair and it was just 2 of us with NO children. I have been eating at Nour for over 10 years since the original owner was there. I am a creature of habit so I have always ordered the same thing, add has my family. It had always been on point. However, my last 2 visits have been extremely disappointing. I realize inflation may have something to do with it but the portions have greatly diminished. The Greek sauce was watered down and runny instead of the consistency of thick yogurt. The Turkish coffee was cold and also tasted a bit watered down. I really hope they go back to what made them such a local favorite. The saving grace is their customer service. They are always great! read more

Now this is true 5 out of 5 dinning. I am reconsidering my rating system as I side eye previous 5 Stars I've given, the standards have risen. I came here to drown out my disdain after a very disappointing meal at Urban Gyro and it truly made up for it. The Spinach Pie was flaky, buttery, and savory. It was perfection. Spicy hummus made your mouth tingle a little with spice but it wasn't overwhelming at all. The shawarma was amazing, best dish I've had in weeks to be honest. AND THE RICE. OMG THE RICE. I'm very picky about my restaurant rice, it's either never fully cooked or overly cooked. The rice was so tender and lovely, a general contrast to most restaurant rice that comes out dry and stiff. The aromatics were there but they didn't overpower the dish, it had a hint of flavor that complemented the meats. Honestly I went around and tasted everyone's dish and dipped every meat, vegetable, and bread into every sauce available. I couldn't have enough. Messy meal, poor service all around. I've ordered food from here a number of times and I really want to like it (I love Mediterranean food), but Nour's plates are not well thought out, lack flavor, and makes for an overall bad dining experience. I ordered a Lebanese salad with shish kabob, and had to use a butter knife to cut up both the salad and beef. Every ingredient was rough cut and entirely too large to be served in a salad. The hummus was both late (came after my meal was delivered) and incredibly bland. Never in my life have I added salt to hummus, but it was the only seasoning that dish received. My child ordered a hamburger which came late, served on a pita (I'm assuming they ran out of buns and just decided not to tell us). The French fries were sloppily, 1/2 covered in seasoning salt which also covered the plate (meaning the fries weren't tossed in the seasoning and served, they spilled the salt all over the plate). Burger was charred beyond repair and yellow in color (I wish I was making it up). Also, the tea I ordered was clearly made from a raspberry powder, and sweetened which I never requested or given a choice when ordering. Nour is a great place to go for Mediterranean food in El Paso! We have been twice now, and it was delicious both times. One of my favorite things about Nour is their sauce - it goes so well with everything. The first time we dined in and had a great experience. The service was excellent! I ordered the lamb, and it was so juicy and tender. The vegetables were very fresh as well. We ordered the baklava for dessert which was so tasty! Today we stopped by to pick up a beef shawarma and try the kenafeh. The beef shawarma was delicious! The meat was tender & flavorful, and it was filled with fresh vegetables. The shawarma was even better in our opinion when dipped in the sauce. It was our first time trying kenafeh, and it was unlike anything we have had in the past. As a dessert, we expected it to be a lot sweeter! We thought of it as being more like a good snack to end the meal with. I would personally recommend the baklava over the kenafeh, but that is probably because I love sweet desserts. If you're looking for some amazing Mediterranean food, I'd recommend ordering to go from Nour during the quarantine (& asking for their sauce!) or coming to dine in for a date in the future. La Jefa (mom) wanted to introduce us to this place. I now know why. We ordered the Spicy Hummus, 2 small Fattoush salad with chicken, lentil soup and chicken gyro with rice. It was all delicious and even had left overs from the vast quantity served. The hummus came with freshly made pita bread. I had their hot black tea and Turkish coffee. Both perfectly spiced and didn't need to add sugar nor creamer. We each ordered a drink, and a coffee at the end. 3 people ate and drank for about $40. I think this is inexpensive. Their grape leaves are amazing, I usually have to get a couple orders because I gobble them down too quickly. Their pita is nice and soft, and their hummus always has a great flavor. I usually get their mixed grill and like I mentioned before, I make sure to use every bit of their garlic sauce. Their rice always has a moistness and good flavor to it, and their falafel is great also. The one thing I wish they still had on their menu was their potato appetizer (I forgot the name).
