The chicken tikka masala is ridiculously good. Our waiter was very personable and accommodating. Can't recommend this enough.

I am so pleased with my dining experience at Curry Hut. I was disappointed with Taj of India, so I decided to give another Indian restaurant in Augusta a try. I'm so glad I did! The wait staff was very friendly, and even gave us extra rice to take home. The food came out at a reasonable time and it was very tasty. If you're a vegetarian, I definitely recommend the eggplant bhurtha. I will be going back for sure. read more

This is a great little spot and the food was delicious. I ordered the lamb masala, my fiancee ordered the butter chicken and we both shared the garlic nan. Both dishes were very good. The restaurant is very small on the inside and feels kind of congested when theres a large crowd. It feels like you are sitting on top of each other as you can hear everyone's conversation even if they are talking low. Also the service was quite slow. We noticed there was only one server working and she was taking walk in orders while also trying to service the people who were dinning in, but she did the best she could. However, in their defense, this was the labor day holiday so I don't think they were quite prepared for the crowd. Still a great place to eat authentic indian food. read more

Excellent friendly service and a delicious lunch buffet. Really enjoyed the saag and dal. Most foods were mildly spiced.

On our way from Charleston to Atlanta we stopped at Curry Hut just a mile from I 20 exit 199. Every item on the lunch buffet was very delicious and freshly made. The place is clean, the staff is friendly with great service. Food is not too greasy and just the right spice level. Every thing was great: onion Pakora's, tandoori chicken, okra, mushrooms, green beans and potatoes, chicken Korma, spinach and Tofu, Naan. I loved the Moong/lentil dessert. I went back to Curry Hut a second time to order off the menu. Unfortunately the Chicken Biryani was a little disappointing. It had some hard bits of rice of season or something in it that really killed it. The fact that I can get this dish at a place down the road better and cheaper means I probably will not be back anytime soon. read more

I decided to check out Curry Hut with a friend who loves Thai food. It is used to be another Thai restaurant called Thai Jong Restaurant, which was in business for over 20 years I'm told. Curry Hut is nice and quaint hence the name. It is also appears to be family run. We were greeted immediately and seated. The dining area is nice. The waiter answered any questions I had about the menu items. They had menu choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians, which is a huge plus. I had the Curry Shrimp, which was delicious and my friend had the Curry Chicken. We both enjoyed it. The serving size was enough to share, so if everyone wanted to order something different and share, it would work perfectly. They also have takeout, which was very popular on the night I visited. Lots of people had takeout orders. I even saw a friend who picked up a takeout order and raved about the food. I would recommend this place and I'll be back to check out some of the other menu items. Just moved to Augusta and I've been trying to find my solid Indian restaurant to go to. This place was more of a "good enough" kind of place for me. For people who've had amazing Indian food, this place probably isn't the place to go but it is good for satisfying the cravings. Curry Hut is becoming one of my favorite dinner destinations. I've tried several entrees. All were freshly prepared and delicious. Their perfectly cooked shrimp earns them a 5-Star rating. Most impressive is the owner (Singh) who works as hard as anyone on staff. He greets, serves, advises on menu choices ... anything required to offer his patrons a wonderful dining experience. Went in for the Buffett. Men's room roof was leaking due to rain and smelled like mold. Who knows where else the building leaks rain water in at. Got the Buffett, and the selection is small and the meat is limited. Options are Chicken or chicken. Ordered a water and it had a bug in it. I went there due to other good Yelps but I think this place may be going downhill. As far as the food quality and flavor, it is okay. I love Indian food and I wasn't too impressed. read more

I've died and gone to indian food heaven. Been here twice now, and this time I'm starting with the veg pakoda (had samosas last time) and a mango lassi. The lassi is a little thinner than I like it, but still delicious. Their paneer tikka masala has a subtle herb flavor and the portion is just right. Like most people I only go to Indian places for the buffet. Why pay $12 for 1 dish when you can have as much as you want of 6 different things for the same price? Yes, 6. The buffet is small. The food is just ok, but it will satisfy a craving for curry. read more

Solid food! Our service was a little lackluster, though. For a not-busy Thursday night, they seemed a little apathetic to tending to the two tables of customers. However my navratan vegetarian Korma was spicy and rich. It was very good. Their naans are out of this world! I'm glad I tried the Kamshmiri because they used coconut instead of the traditional dried fruits and it was a game changer. The garlic naan is great too. They use real ghee here and it is apparent in the flavor of their food. I'd probably do carry out next time to avoid the poor service and strange atmosphere(they play a weird mix of Whitney Houston and Bollywood hits, but it was kinda like they'd let maybe half of a Hindi song play, then would switch it back too bad 90s pop, like there was some sort of bipolar struggle going on in behind the scenes.) But their food speaks for itself, so I'd recommend it given that caveat. read more

I'll cut right to the chase and tell you the only reason this place is missing it's 5th star in my review is that I've lived in Asia and travelled extensively throughout southeast Asia and nothing ever quite measures up to that culinary experience. That being said, The Curry Hut is some of the most authentic Indian food I've tried within the U.S. My best friend and I decided to go to lunch after church on Sunday, accompanied by my foody of a 2 year old daughter. Curry Hut was a last minute decision as neither of us had tried it yet but had been meaning to. She had the paneer mahkni with rice, I had the tandoori chicken appetizer as my main, and we both ordered the garlic naan. The paneer was beyond delicious, smooth and creamy with just the right amount of medium spiciness to the dish. The rice was of course steamed to perfection as a complement to the dish. The tandoori chicken... Let's start with portion size here. 4 chicken legs, 4 thighs, and a side of sliced onion, carrot, and cucumber. That's an appetizer y'all. And the flavor is out of this world. They have the citrus/spice ratio down to a science, it's a beautiful tandoori red on the outside with a few crispy edges, succulently moist chicken, flavor infused all the way to the bone, my 2 year old ate 2 of the legs by herself and said it was "Nummmmm!!" The garlic naan was enjoyed by all, perfect amount of flavor without being overpowering, perfectly cooked, and my daughter really enjoyed dipping it in the paneer. Next time we go, and there most certainly will be a next time, I may just order the naan and try a few other favorites like the samosas and lassi and perhaps the rice pudding. Long story short, if you like Indian food or any other curry-based cuisine, do yourself a favor and take my 2 year old's advice. And that is, "Eat there, eat the chicken, eat the curry, eat the naan!" read more

Went here and noticed on my bill she had charged an additional 4 dollars. The lady could not explain but, yet had the correct amount circled. I guess she gave herself a dollar tip per person at my table. The food taste great but the only give you half of a chicken breast in each of the curry dishes and gave us one bowl of rice. Two weeks later another friend dined at the resturant and was charged an additional 4 dollars also. I think it's time they invested in a computerized register. read more

I was really excited to try this new place but after ordering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, I came to a conclusion that they don't know how to cook. Unfortunately, I had pretty much the same experience at Taj of India. After some inquiry, I found Taj of India and Curry Hut owners are the same. No wonder their food is disgusting!!! Non-Veg option: I ordered Daal and found hair in it (Nasty!!!). I told the waiter about hair in the food and all he said, "I will let the chef know about it". I was in town for the Masters tournament and had previously read some Yelp reviews about Curry Hut. I was having a beer across the street from Curry Hut and called them asking about a take out order and was told it would be about 25 minutes so I decided to try another evening. However, as I was leaving the bar I noticed that only two cars were in the Curry Hut parking lot. Therefore, I stopped and went in and noticed a wonderful smell and that no one was eating in the restaurant. It turns out they had quite a take out order que that evening. I decided to eat at the restaurant and ordered the butter chicken and garlic nan. The gentleman taking the order discussed spice level with me and suggested the mild spice. The food was brought out to me in less than 10 minutes; piping hot and absolutely delicious. The butter chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. The nan was soft and hot and soooo good. They were very attentive and polite and it's wonderful to see a small business doing such a great job. I wish them the best of luck in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Curry Hut has recently reopened after a kitchen fire closed the establishment for several months. I ordered take out today. We ordered Saag Paneer, Paneer Tikka Masala, and Chicken Korma. The food was pretty good but I had two health related concerns while eating here. 1) the plates are sitting out on the table instead of brought to you when the food comes out. I personally don't like having plates left out in a busy restaurant with waiters, children, and families buzzing around. 2) the waitress placed the menu on top of my "clean" plate (or as clean as a plate sitting out in the open could be). The menus have been touched and handled by many people and I would rather not have them touch my plate. If the plates were just handed out later when the food comes this would not be an issue. I will come again, but I would really appreciate if the manager could reconsider how the menus and plates are distributed. read more
