Their paperwork explicitly states that "additional work may be required" once the toilet is removed, leaving the door wide open for endless extra costs. To top it off, they refuse to take responsibility for putting back any of the finished surfaces or walls they plan to tear apart. They are guessing at my expense and trying to leave me with a massive bill and a torn-up house. If you want a plumber who actually diagnoses a problem accurately before racking up charges, look elsewhere.

He explained that a hardware store water heater is of cheaper quality than the "professional" model he would install. He also correctly guessed that a competitive quote had come in lower because they did not factor in permitting the work, which he felt was important, and I agreed. He did look for multiple ways to save us some money, including combining visits, not charging for the initial investigation of our gas leak, discounting a subsequent job; he even researched the design lifetime of my new water heater and recommended against getting an extended warrantee in my case since the heater was built to last at least that long if not longer. Call Buddy's back out, they now say the leak is coming from the main line going into the house, and give an estimate of almost $6000 to fix. So, let me get this straight...you want me to hire you again for a $6000 job, when i just paid you over $500 and you obviously didnt do much of anything except maybe do a pressure test which accomplished nothing and benefitted me zero? I received a…read moreproposal for the following work: "Excavate 2nd septic tank outlet, Camera & Troubleshoot issue, Quote further work if necessary" They were here for about 20 minutes, only to quickly say, "We are doing nothing, you need to contact the county, that'll be $1000" 20 minutes for $1000 bucks with no troubleshooting and no solutions. What a scam. There was no compromise from them on the price, and literally no recommendations or solutions. The "technician" was also rude. At one point he laughed at my plunge pool, and suggested off the record I can try dumping lye in the system. After researching this, i found this could potentially destroy your system (I figure this is why it was stated "off the record") This should not have cost $1000. I thought Buckeye Plumbing was an honest company, but I was wrong and paid the price for it. On top of everything, it took nearly 2 weeks of follow up calls to them to give me an appointment. That should have been a sign this company does not care. I feel we were severely taken advantage of, and the transaction was of zero value. I will never use them again, and if you use them, I hope you don't get swindled like I was.

First time, the lady that answered told me to call back again in an hour and a half when they get off lunch as she doesn't have their schedule on her. Called back two hours later, she left a message for them to call me back. Half hour later, I get a call and they tell me that they don't have me on the schedule for 9/22 and they have a fully booked day so they probably can't fit me in. She said she would call me back, but didn't reference when. At this point, I am beyond shocked. They didn't provide any apologies or exceptions. Edited: They did call back, but didn't present any apologies. I will chalk this up as an honest mistake or miscommunication. I would recommend calling the day before if scheduled out to ensure you are on the schedule. It's not a good feeling waiting for a service and inspection and hearing that it wasn't scheduled the week before.
