They were right there…read morewhen I had a time crunch on closing a house and a last-minute issue in the ductwork caused by a crawl space mold-abatement project by a different contractor. They checked it out and took care of it, at some cost to their schedule, I"m sure. I was able to close on time, thanks to them! Throughout the process they kept me informed of both the cost and the progress, and the costs were very reasonable. Finally, their accounting and notification systems are amazing. I received an email about what the tech was going out to look at, based on my explanation of the problem before he got there. When the tech went to the truck after his work, I got an email with the analysis and the bill, which I could pay online right then, or later if I wished. The whole process worked not just like clockwork, but like a very expensive Swiss watch. Or a lunar landing. And, they were pleasant, forthcoming about what was likely wrong, and also frank about what they couldn't say until they saw the problem. They treated me as if I had a brain and was likely able to understand what they told me. They believed what I said. All in all, this was a great experience, with great people of great integrity, a great notification and billing system, and, of course, they fixed the problem. I had used TNT before for a general maintenance call, mainly because I love their logo. They were great then, too. Didn't overcharge me, and when I called to see if they needed to come back for the fall, they said no, I was done. No point in paying for that, they said. And they were right! Atvthe beginning , in 2021 the customer service was great but it rapidly went downhill over the years . Communication is poor , there were disputes over billing and even after the owner agreed that I'm entitled. For a refund it took months to get it and the billing person was extremely rude every time I spoke to her . I think her name is Sharon . Suffice to say that I stopped using the services if this company about a year ago because even their great technician Chris who serviced my unit and he was the only reason i stayed with this company this long , even he couldn't make up for all the issues that I had with this company . There are much better companies around . Go shop for them elsewhere if you want good customer service and good communication.

Now, fast forward to August 2025-worst customer service imaginable! Here's what our experience was on Wednesday, 8/21/25. Our 7-year old AC unit stopped working this evening. At 6:49 pm I called the Albemarle Heating and Air's 24/7 ADVERTISED after hours' service. The operator states, "If you don't receive a call back from the on-duty technician within one hour, then call us back." REALLY???? At 8:00 pm I still have not received a call from on-duty tech. I called the answering service AGAIN. The operator who answered said he had no idea why the on-duty tech had not called. He sent another text message out to have the on-duty technician call me. At this point our house is 80 degrees inside. We are miserable and so is our 7-year old dog. At 10:35 pm I receive a call from the Albemarle Heating and Air "back up" tech. He tells me he is the back up to the official on-call tech. He did at least offer to come help me, BUT HE LIVED ONE HOUR AWAY FROM OUR LOCATION!!! This was when I reached out to the OWNER of another HVAC company--a company we have never used before and we have no service agreement with. The OTHER HVAC COMPANY'S OWNER personally showed up at my doorstep on Thursday morning, 8/21/25, and had my AC running within 5 minutes! That OTHER COMPANY was MONTICELLO AIR. Needless to say, Nick Peregoy, owner of Monticello Air, now has a new customer.

I'm pretty sure the tech's name was Tommy and he was extremely helpful and friendly. He also took the time to explain the issue and what he did to fix it.

    Had Valley air come to do summer maintenance [$135.00] everything was working perfectly b4…read moreappointment A couple of days latter we went away when we came back we had a failure to communicate with outdoor unit fault code.I opened unit saw a wire not connected I pulled circuit breaker reconnected wire and it was good and tight [ power off]then I disconnected wire put circuit breaker back in Then I called them and told them there was a wire not connected on outside unit but did not want to connect it in case I was wrong. Ends up they come out again for no charge. A different tech came and told me that wire did need to be connected and when he did all was well. He told me the connection was very loose so he had to recrimp wire to make tight then left saying sorry this happened. As I said b4 when I connected wire it was very tight fitting. I believe 1st tech left wire barely connected so eventually it would come loose as it did Problem is if I did not catch this problem I could of been charged for a communication circuit board which would have been very expensive. The first tech knew that the wire had to be very tight to work properly and did not do so. So an unsuspecting customer could potentially have had to pay an expensive repair charge. Beware

    Really professional work starting with Josh. Josh reviewed my old system inside and out. He…read morecame by twice that day, once to flip a switch under the house that the previous hvac guy doing an estimate turned off and left off by mistake. Timing made it look like Josh may have flipped something, but he came back within an hour and showed me where the previous estimate had done this. That showed me that Zeh would stand behind their work, even making sure that Josh did not cause the problem. I dealt with Jen in the office and she was always really helpful getting questions to Josh as the job was getting closer. Josh would get back within hours with an answer and Jen would relay. Josh is definitely technical and knows hvac systems. Brandon may have finalized the design but I was given 3 options, the best for this small place was the one chosen. I had 4 good companies come and give me estimates. I thought Zeh was competitive and they are local, which was high on priorities for this job. Great, professional local company. They completed the job over two days of steady, hard work. Brandon came by on day one and had one guy with him I think. Those guys did an amazing amount of work on day one. Brandon showed up on day 2 and told me another crew would be finishing up the next day. I wish I had the names of the guys on day 2, again, professional, hard working, detail oriented. The system is very quiet, well done install. My heating bills may have gone up slightly, my cooling bills are cut in half with the gold system. All 4 companies that came to do estimates were good. Zeh will not show up in matching coveralls with a logo, but they will show up ready to work and do a great job. They did it for me. It has been about 10 months since the system was installed. NO issues at all, until I decided to replace the 6 month filter. Newer, high efficiency systems, or at least my system requires a 4 inch, pleated filter replaced every 6 months. You are going to pay up to 80 bucks a filter, but twice a year if you are following guidelines. I like my hvac so I will be replacing it 2x a year. Final reason why you should use Zeh. I climbed under my house a few weeks ago to replace my filter myself. I ordered a new filter that Zeh gave me the name and number for my install so I ordered one to save a few bucks. I crawled up under the house but I removed the wrong panel to replace the filter. I thought Zeh had forgotten to install a filter. I did call back after watching a youtube video and said I think I am just stupid. They said we are still coming and will take a look. Gene came by and took my filter, quickly replaced it and showed me how it works. So, quality work, competitive price, local business, excellent people, excellent service. Get your estimates, but definitely try Zeh. I give Zeh 5 stars.
