He was here inside of an hour and was able to remove a broken valve cartridge and the water turned back on inside of 30 minutes. This company is a joke - I called them to come out and give me an estimate on replacing a portion of the main water line since the previous owner had used them - they advised there would be a charge for the estimate of $75 but that would go towards the work - they came out and did the estimate but I was not home when they came out - I never got the estimate -I called into the office and they advised it was going to be $2k - I asked for them to email it over to me - never got it and called 2 additional times - nothing - I used another plumbing company which charged me $1200 - then after 1 month Curtis Plumbing sent me a late notice advising that I owed them $149 for the estimate -are you kidding me?? I called the office and spoke to Cindy and she said she would look into the issues and she would call me back the next day - its been a week and still no call back no customer service here read more

Curtis Plumbing provided us excellent service recently when we experienced an issue with our septic system. The initial (unnamed) company misdiagnosed our issue and said it would be $3800 to repair. The work was done very well, however, when the plumber arrived he quoted me that it would be about $200.00. It $100.00 per hour for labor I asked him how much for the parts and he said, "o it not that much, the brass fittings are like 50 cents each. I agreed and went ahead with the repair. I went to speak to him about the invoice and he said sorry man the brass coupling was $40.00, I do not use these part very much. This is in my view completely unacceptable. Give an accurate quote. They also do not tell you that they charge 3% more if you use a credit card. No extra charge if you use a check. Update: I called the office and spoke to a the office personnel, when I explained to them what had happened, I was placed on hold in order for them to review the invoice that was submitted. When office personnel returned they were very rude and stated that they will have to call me back in about an hours because they needed to talk to the plumber and ask him why he would quote me so low, because there is nothing on there truck that is that cheap, and they did not know why he made a quote to me that was that low. It was also explained to me that they need to talk to the plumber because he did not charge me the additional truck fee of $40.00. I explained to them that if I was given an accurate quote with all these extra fee that were added on, I would not have used there services. I also did not get a return phone call. read more

EXTREMELY expensive!!! Folks, there are reputable companies out there that will do just as good of work as Curtis Plumbing for FAR LESS money. I had a septic pumped a couple of years ago. the TOTAL cost, including the truck, two men, and the haul away was $400.00. I have a second home under a leasing agent. The agent (unfortunately) called Curtis Plumbing to pump this septic, which Curtis did. However, when I received the bill it was for $1,160.12!!! I understand that costs have risen the last couple of years, but TRIPLE? Apparently Curtis throws every charge they can think of to bill their customers. First was the "Pump" charge $100.00. The charge for two men 4 hours each was $572.00 total! Electronic locator (?) $40.00. Material (?) $53.90. Misc. truck expense(?) $13.99. Mileage (28 - I assume miles) $140.00. Disposal fee $236.40. Want to spend extra money unnecessarily? Call Curtis Plumbing. They have no compunction in overcharging their customers. Do I recommend Curtis Plumbing? ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY NOT!!! FOLLOWUP: Curtis Plumbing's response (listed below) states that every effort was made to communicate directly with me. However, I received no phone calls from them during the pumping nor after. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE attempted to contact me. I saw no "discount" listed on their invoice. When I called to pay the bill, I stated that I was unhappy with the amount. No one, even at that point, offered to explain the costs. As for the statement made below: "we provide a premium service - unmatched by any in the business.". They definitely charge a premium price for their premium service that is DEFINITELY unmatched by any in the business. I'm sure that there are more unhappy customers that do not take the time to post reviews. So, believe what you want and do what you want folks. I called Curtis plumbing twice now, and was very satisfied both times. The first was to help locate a clean out so I could excavate; paying a plumber 80 bucks an hour to dig doesn't sound like a good time to me. So, he marked it for me, abs I dug it up. I snaked it with my little electric snake; nada. Called out again, knocked it out in half an hour. The truly impressive thing for me was that both times, the tech (Matt) was more than willing to explain to me how to do things myself in order to save money. He didn't force anything down my throat, but let me discuss and find an affordable solution, including recommending good plumbing supply stores and products. Kudos. read more

Update:10/4/19 The day after initial review was posted my parents received a phone call from Curtis plumbing stating they found approx. $180 in over charge that they would refund via check in the mail as well as an itemized receipt to justify charges but would need my father to call back. My father called back that same day and left a msg with no return call afterwards. My father phoned again today 10/4 and due to my posted review of the company and our experience with them that they would not be issuing back any mischarged amount. read more

Would not use them again. Called them to replace a section of waterline and was not advised they charged for the estimate. The cost of the estimate was also not applied to the total. ThIngs that were discussed during the estimate appointment were not included in the final contract. Found out later that the size of pipe they used was not city code and will have to be replaced again. I do not recommend them. read more

BEWARE OF THE SECRET TRAVEL FEE ,!!!!!!! We had a leaking gas pipe and called for service . Man on the phone who set up our appointment told us their cost was 90 per hour for call plus parts, but forgot to tell us that because of where we lived, it was $115 travel fee. Billy the technician did a great job. But after being at my house for less than 45 minutes the bill was over $200. I called to complain, there was no apology for the lack of communication . WE WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN !!!!! This was a complete lack of integrity. Had they told us there was $115 travel fee we never would have used them but called someone else. ( they could fill up the truck several times and get an oil change for that ). BTW.. we live off oracle just 7 miles north of Rancho Vistoso road. This is taking advantage of people and robbery. VERY EXPENSIVE; VERY GOOD; you get what you pay for Had water leak in ABS piping connection in bathroom. Fixed it very nicely. I was a somewhat upset that their quote over phone was round $400 but final charge was $816.08; I had emailed them extensive description and multiple photos so they could provide more accurate estimate since they do not do free estimates though I realize they found some other issues they had to fix that were not apparent in my description and photos. I was also upset that the impression they gave me was only one plumber would do the job but he showed up with a trainee and charged me for trainee time also. I will use them again only for involved or complex jobs. They are too expensive for simple plumbing jobs such as toilet install or faucet install. read more

Called for a clogged tub drain late in the day on Thursday and Lucy was actually apologetic that they couldn't make it out the same day, however, at 9am Friday morning, Billy arrived, perfectly on schedule, and was knowledgeable and courteous and got the job done quickly. I called Curtis Plumbing to check out a possible backed up drain at a rental property. I was clear on the phone with both females I spoke with as to wanting a camera run down the pipe. I was told first the will snake it and then they will run a camera. I asked for an estimate of cost and since I would not be present how to pay my bill. I was told that I could pay by check to avoid the 3% card fee. I said that was wonderful. I booked the appointment. The tech was late, I know things happen. He did his thing snaked the pipe and what not. He then told me there was no reason for a clog and the line was open and clear to the sewer. He then said I need to have the camera run to check for a possible break in the line due to "foundation collapse". After the tech got back to his office he called to get payment for the services. I explained the woman when I booked said I could write a check. He said "I was a first time customer and had to pay now." I guess I could have refused, I paid, including the 3% fee. As I looked at the bill I see I was charged $10 more than quoted for the snake plus a $7 truck charge. I also said to schedule the pipe to have a camera run down. 2 days later and still waiting for a call. When I first called and explained what I wanted it was made to seem as the tech would snake the pipe and then if needed run a camera then, not a entirely different trip, appointment and fees. I would stay away from this company or any that cannot give you accurate pricing and know when and how procedures are completed. I also had the pricing for the camera when I first called and then when the tech gave me the estimates the price suddenly increased. Shady and not worth the Update/response to Ken I was asked to pay my bill before ever receiving an invoice to review. I paid my bill in full at the time of service. I simply wanted to understand the difference in charges, which I understand. But, to be told by YOU that I was given "concession" on my bill for "overtime" is ridiculous! Also, you have no idea what previous maintenance was done to my property, and to call out others is very unprofessional. I have used this company for years, they are excellent. They replaced my mothers entire septic several years ago...including the leech field. They have fixed frozen pipes, drains, Put in clean outs fixed my faucets, repaired toilets etc. basically they have done everything from small projects to large and complex ones. They are on time, reasonably priced and their technicians are kind, helpful, hard working and professional....and they know what they are doing. I cannot say enough about them. My septic spit up junk all over my bathtub because I hadn't pumped it in years. Not only did they come out on the weekend to immediately give it a short-term fix, but the office manager answered all of my septic questions. I'm a city girl, so I had no idea that you need to pump it every six years, or so. Then they came back during the week, so I wouldn't have to pay the weekend rate, with two men, to pump the whole thing out, which was filled to the top. They were very nice and professional, and knew what they were doing. They didn't waste any time getting to work in our 100 degrees plus temperatures, and they even gave us a Senior Citizen discount. Had them come out to fix a backup problem with my septic tank. They pumped the tank which had not been done in the last 5 years, but it was not the problem so they snaked the pipe. All seemed to work well. 3 days later same problem. I called it was today (Sunday) and was told it would be double time. I explained that I had paid them $407.00 to fix a problem that was not fixed. He suggested I get an appointment for regular hours or find someone who could do it cheaper. I did not feel I need to pay them more for something they did not fix. There is a lot of misleading communications (kindest words) for this company. Be smart with your dollars being spent and obtain estimates for services you need. I had an appointment for work to be done between 11-3pm. At 2:01 pm received a call and one message from "Sheryl Curtis" to call back regarding my appointment. I called back at 2:11pm. "Sheryl Curtis" said they had been calling "all morning" and since they "got no response" they cancelled our appointment. I explained the only call and message I received was 10 minutes before and I had no other missed calls or messages. "Sheryl" kept repeating in a rude tone of voice that she had called numerous times "all morning" and "left several messages" insinuating I was a liar. I kept telling her the phone has been by me all day and that no one had called. She finally said "well maybe I misdialed" and that "her service man had to go to an emergency". If she had said that from the start, I would have been more understanding. Why would I pay and reward a company that uses an accusatory attitude towards potential customer, when in fact it was the companies fault in the first place?
