One thing that I love about Curt's is they have a drive-through, but the great thing about the drive-through is their employee Jeanette. Jeanette is definitely an asset, she is one of a kind friendly and thorough. Coming from Florida, I remember telling my kids oh my gosh, you would not believe how nice this woman was in the drive-through. Times have changed in Florida and it's nice to come up here and get true southern hospitality. I moved to Oakwood about eight months ago and decided to try Curt's and was blown away with not only the taste of the food, but the quantity that they give you. I have never been dissatisfied with anything that I have eaten from Curt's, both breakfast and lunch. I normally get a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on buttered toast, sometimes just two fried eggs with an order of bacon. As you can see from the picture, they are not chintzy. For lunch, I have tried their steak and gravy, their amazing fried chicken, the grilled chicken, a BLT wrap, grilled cheese, the best cheesy Mac-n-cheese, etc. and the list goes on. The lunches are usually enough food to cut in half and eat for dinner as well. So glad I discovered this little gem and going through the drive-through and being greeted by Jeanette, makes all the difference in the world on my visits. Keep it up Curt's! read more

Curts always has great food, good customer.service, and very reasonable prices. And they cook what others wont; like deviled eggs, fried.bologna sandwich, etc. They will make whatever you ask for...they will even put your fried egg sandwich on white bread instead of a biscuit! Long time establishment, with a large following. I have been going there over the years since they opened when I was in High school. For me, I only suggest getting one thing that remains the same to me an is hard to find around town much less a great as they still make it. The Order - These three sandwich's are awesome if you like fluffy soft scrambled eggs. Otherwise ask for a half fry or fried egg. But the order is the soft egg. This is a cafeteria style restaurant. The food is okay, not something I'd drive back for. But service was good and the staff are friendly. I didn't get a receipt, but later checked online for the transaction. It was $6.24 for two sausage patties, a side of potatoes and side of grits (no drink). Not too bad. read more

We visited for the first time this morning when we dropped our car off for maintenance. It had a welcoming atmosphere, and the food was DELICIOUS! They had biscuits and gravy (with and without sausage), build your own omelets (cooked perfectly with homemade salsa!), potatoes and grits were well seasoned. This was a nice little buffet style home cooking restaurant in the Oakwood area. I came here for lunch a few weeks ago with coworkers and we throughly enjoyed our meal! Staff members are all nice and wonderful. The food is the main concern, I've been going to curts since I was really young. Over time they've kept up really well how they served food but I'm not sure what has changed, the green beans are horrible, and the biscuits in the morning taste frozen. They use to taste homemade and fresh, wish they would go back to how they use to make their breakfast read more

This place is wonderful to us over the years. There is a group of us that worked at Moreno Press where Walmart is now. We meet at least once a year and Curt's and staff make us feel like family. We have lived in the area for over a year and just discovered Curt's. What a find! The good news is the food is tasty, a solid 4 star, prices reasonable and portions generous since you serve yourself. So why the lower rating. the overall experience is not as good as the food. 1. Closes at 2PM weekdays, only open breakfast and lunch. Inconvenient for me, but they have the right. 2. Found out the hard way the online menu isn't updated until 10:30 AM same day. 3. Last 2 weeks they have run out of mashed potatoes. When we pointed it out to to them they indicated they weren't making any more. Rest is just aggravating but I could adjust. We went here for breakfast. It has a buffet style breakfast with country home cooked food. The place has a country feel to it and everyone pretty much calls you "hun". The buffet for breakfast was the only option you had other than ordering individual items from the buffet to go. They had traditional southern breakfast items like grits, eggs, sausage, ham, etc. Pricing wasn't too bad at around $8 a person. The food was pretty good, but then again, i'm not a fan of buffets. Chicken and dumplings today tasted better than your grandmother's! You can tell it had been cooked for hours. Perfectly creamy without being too thick. Sides were fine-fried okra was good, as always, creamed corn was a little too sweet. Husband got mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans, both fine but nothing extra. It's been YEARS since I've stopped by and nothing's changed, except for some of the waitresses, the price has gone up a bit, and they now have free wi-fi. This is a place the locals hit up, and it's kind of difficult to find, since you have to go off the main road and onto the backroads. As you enter, you grab a tray, your plate and utensils, and move through the [NOT all-you-can-eat] buffet line. Pile the food on as high as you'd like, ladies and gents, because the pricing is based on how many different things you get, not how much you get. And then if you can't eat everything, you can always take it home. The food is solid, great seasonings (especially on the fried chicken) and as wholesome as comfort food can possibly get. The PHENOMENAL desserts are only an additional dollar and you can get as much as you want, as it's located at a different spot, away from the rest of the buffet and the register. Service is great. The girls make you feel like you're a part of the family, whether you're clearly a local or not. They clear away plates/trays quickly as you finish and volunteers to get you another refill, if desired. Probably the most convenient thing is the drive-thru. Curts is a family feel good type of restaurant. I only go for breakfast for eggs and sausage once ever two months, but the last time I stopped by the cashier charged me double for the eggs. One thing to notice is the spoons they use for the eggs are different from all the other spoons on the buffet. The egg spoons are round with a flat bottom like a small cup, which constrains you to a very small portion of eggs. Most spoons have a rounded bottom, which gives you a scoop portion. This must be a budget cut-back trick to save money. Attached photo of eggs and spoon 2 eggs are normally $1.69 2 sausages are $1.49 My charge was $5.27 I told the cashier that she over charged me for the eggs, but she insisted that I must have the eggs leveled at the spoon scoop. For the most part, they have a friendly atmosphere, but beware if the cashier feels you have served yourself too much, you will be charged double without any questions. read more

Man this used to be the reason why I would wake up early when I was in highschool. The breakfast bar at Curt's were unbeatable! I love the scramble eggs, bacon, grits and biscuits. SO GOOD. The price were affordable and the service is always nice. One thing I should note is that the breakfast bar is not all you can eat. You just pick out the stuff you want...then they will look at your plate or togo box and put in the quantity of stuff you picked out and you pay by that. The sweet tea at curt's is also pretty good. country cooking at a fat man's table. it's buffet, self serve not all you can eat, but they have 2 lb chicken breast and 3 pound pork chops. the fried pork chop i had took two hands to hoist onto my plate. it wasn't greasy but was severely over breaded. i scraped off about a pound of what would have been crust had it been cookable. they do a good job with fried chicken here, but one piece is almost more than you can eat. sides are pedestrian with better n average gravy, the old place is beginning to show some wear n tear now. needs a good renovations and cleaning. breakfast and lunch only come hungry! read more
