    Carne/meat taco and Pupusa

Family owned and ran, wife is from Columbia. So e is the pastry baker. The Empanadas were the best I have ever had, full flavor, non greasy, had texture, simply amazing! You like Tacos!?! Drop in here and try and you will not regret! The Pupusas rocked. Not a sexy interior but the food makes it worthy for many return trips! Nicest people around!

Been eating at this restaurant for quite a few times and I think is one of the best places to have pupusas salvadorean classic dish I would recommend to put just a little bit more of vinegar to the slaw it will make it perfect , I also like drinking their passion fruit drink is awesome and natural 100% every time I go there I get the mixtas pupusas and or the revueltas one little thing they have to work on is getting drinks as soon as possible you get there and take quite a few minutes to get mine I was thirsty lol but other then that they are great for a salvadorean cuisine they also have bread salvadorean style which is awesome as well try the empanada de plátano you will love it

Nice selection of baked goods. Employee behind counter took time to explain what items were and offered a few samples to help us decide.

The ambiance is 0 because this is in a gas station but I would absolutely eat here again. We got the chorizo + jalapeno pupusas and they were both phenomenally flavored, fresh and hot. Make sure you get the slaw too!

It is usually stuffed with one or more ingredients. These may include cheese (such as quesillo or cheese with loroco buds), chicharrón, squash, or refried beans. It is typically accompanied by curtido (a spicy cabbage slaw), and tomato salsa, and is traditionally eaten by hand, without the use of utensils. The exact origin of the pupusa has not been proven." Wikipedia (You can go ahead and hit that useful vote now) The pupusa's here are made fresh the corn meal is excellent, the cheese is delicious. The cabbage slaw is very good as well. Yummy stuff my fellow Yelpers. At about $2 apiece you can't get a better lunch under $5. On every visit I see them peeling tamarinds for the Aguas Frescas here, super fresh and delicious! Everyone at El Mana is a volunteer, with proceeds going to the construction of a church. Eat Pupusas, do good! There may be a bit of a language barrier at the counter but well worth it for what your getting, and the good you're doing! You owe me.

This authentic…read moreSalvadoran restaraunt is such a gem that my family of four visited twice during our recent stay in Franklin while visiting Lake Nantahala. It's located in a shopping center with several other eateries such as a taco restaurant, ice cream shop and bakery. It is a small restaurant with about five to six tables inside. During both visits, we observed several locals dining in or picking up take out. There was a friendly young lady that seated us and took our order. They make the food fresh to order so it takes a little time but nothing unreasonable. The food is definitely worth the wait. We ordered the carne asada meal with plantains & black beans, bean pupusas, jalapeño pupusas, chicken tamale and child's baleada. The carne asada meal was enough for my son to eat and share some with my husband and younger son. I was even able to enjoy several plantains which were prepared perfectly. The pupusas were some of the best we have ever had. They were stuffed with a generous amount of filling and the pupusa dough was moist instead of dry like some places. The bean and cheese pupusa was our favorite but all flavors ordered were delicious. La Union Restaurant Pupuseria will be a regular dining spot for our family when in the area. If you enjoy authentic Salvadoran food then be sure to check out this gem.

The restaurant is family-owned and recently opened. They're open everyday except Saturdays from 10:30am to 5pm according to the sign on the door. We had the pupusas, chicken tamale, steak (carne asada) with rice and beans, fajitas de pollo (chicken fajitas), fried yuca, and sweet plantains. Prices were very fair too! I will definitely be visiting this spot again... probably much sooner than later.
