The place is clean and cute, but I've not had great experiences there even though I wanted to love it as much as others seem to. They say they're super inclusive with sizing, but with (what seems to me) a rather small selection to start, I'm hard-pressed to find my size off-the-rack. I've had multiple sales associates give me lame excuses for why they don't have sizes in stock and even tell me that something on their sales floor has a poor design (okay, why are you selling it then? and telling customers you know it's not quality merchandise?!) I've also had them pressure me to try on frumpy pajamas when I've made it clear I'm there looking for lingerie, maybe because that's all they have in my size at that moment. And they offer free bra fitting, but it does you no good when they can't convert the size for you from UK to US sizing, which also happened to me. For the price point, it's hard for me to see the benefit to the customer of shopping here. I've gone there twice with big gift cards for my wedding trousseau, and have walked away with a not-at-all-sexy robe and some pillowcases. As a plus-size gal wanting to feel romantic and feminine, I'm deeply discouraged. read more

I hadn't bought a bra in YEARS and was tired of my frumpy uniboob. I initially scheduled a bra-fitting for a specific dress and to find a bra to wear under a white shirt. This little lingerie shop in Old Town Lansing is great. The owner of the shop will give you a proper fitting, helping you find your ideal size. Then she asks you what you're in the market for and gets you a few things to try on. After the first couple, she asks if you want more help and even if you say yes, she goes very hands off and lets you shop around and make your own decisions. It is very low pressure, very informative, and her selection is pretty good for a small town shop. I usually get hives thinking about sales people not only handling my ladies but then handing me hundred dollar bras and telling me I have to buy them or no one will ever love me. That is NOT what Curvaceous is. She gets it. Let her get to know your ladies and help you find what makes them look fantastic. And if what you're looking for just isn't possible - She'll give you the straight and narrow about that, too. She's not looking to make bad sales and enemies. I am so happy to have this sweet and sassy little lingerie shop right in Old Town! After being improperly fitted at a large chain store and then wearing the wrong size for years and years, it was so refreshing to walk into Curvaceous, get a proper fitting and then some great recommendation based on my needs for different bras to try! I loved perusing the racks too, looking at all the beautiful styles, colors, fabrics and options. The store is a great size, not too big and overwhelming, but stocked full of just about anything you could want... whether it's something special, sleepwear, sports wear, you name it! The customer service is excellent, just the right amount of help. I went in for a fitting for a nursing bra. The employee said she would place the order and it would take probably a month to get in because the company is slow to deliver. I called back after two weeks to check on the order and was told it was still not in and it would probably be another two weeks. Two weeks later I called in and the order was never placed and no one bothered to call me. I held off on getting a very much needed nursing bra so that I could order from this local shop. During the last call I was told by the owner that the nursing bras aren't selling very well so they didn't place a new order. That isn't a good excuse not to let me know. I was blessed like all the women in our family with curves!! I work in a hospital and have always had upper back, shoulder and neck pain from the lovely ladies in front!! I actually went to a surgeon to see about a reduction to make the back/neck/shoulder pain go away. I have always read that most women wear the wrong size bra so I thought why not get a fitting. I've had "fittings" at other stores and have not been happy! Then my daughter found Lauren at Curvaceous Lingerie and I had a real fitting. I can't believe how much better I feel. The pain is pretty much all gone! Not only that but the bras I bought are actually really pretty...too often they are not at all! Big girls like to feel pretty too...and comfortable....and supported!
