I came to Becker's Bridal in early May as my first ever bridal appointment. I had maybe 2-3 inspo pics from pinterest and was so nervous that I didn't do enough preparation. We were paired with Olivia who immediately reassured me that the pics I had were more than enough to find THE dress. As we tried on the first few, I pointed out aspects I liked and aspects I didn't, and Olivia knew EXACTLY what dresses to pull next. She was in my brain reading my mind, I would describe what i was picturing so poorly and I would ramble on and on and she would listen patiently and then come back with a handful of dresses that matched exactly what I had envisioned! I would not recommend this place if you don't want a strapless dress. I drove two hours for this wedding dress selection and once i was there, they told me 90% of their dresses are strapless. She seemed like she had years of experience because every dress she pulled for me to try on was absolutely stunning and fit my vibe. I would not recommend Becker's to anyone looking for a wedding dress. They had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. From the moment I mentioned that I had liked a dress at another store, the consultant made me feel extremely uncomfortable. She became flustered when I didn't like certain dresses she pulled, and at one point even said, "There are 3,000 dresses here and you are not leaving without a dress." And "If you liked the other dress so much, why would you come here?" I tried to explain that I simply wanted to explore different styles before making a decision, but she pointed at me and aggressively told me I was wrong. She said I did know what I liked and that if that was truly my dress then I wouldnt have left. I felt like i was being scolded and judged. She then attempted to find an identical dress to the one I'd seen elsewhere just so I would buy it from their store. At that point, both myself and my entire party felt so uncomfortable that we didn't even feel safe voicing opinions. We ended the appointment early, and instead of thanking us, she grabbed the dresses and walked away, leaving us to do what felt like a "walk of shame" out of the building. I ended up returning to Fantastics Finds to buy my wedding dress. They clearly have some sort of sales quota they have to meet and do not care about the brides experience and finding a dress they truly love. Side note, the consultant also did not ask me my budget and was pulling dresses way above my budget that i had submitted online. Wedding dress shopping should be an exciting and supportive experience. Instead, this was condescending, rude, and unnecessarily stressful. I came here after visiting the outlet first, which helped me get a better idea of what I knew I did and didn't like and then could narrow in on a budget and picking THE dress. We also went to the Phoenix before which was a great spot to have a light lunch before without completely pigging out before trying on dresses . It is the most whimsical and beautiful little spot and I'm sure it's quite the place to be over a busy weekend. My mom and I went to Becker's after having a disappointing experience at another store. I was met by the nicest front desk girls who gave us gifts before introducing us to Angela who led us to a private area. She asked about styles I liked and then showed us both to the floor to pick out dresses. After selecting a few, she asked my comfort level and helped me try them on. She was honest and encouraging, even searching the shop when I told her I'd like something with sleeves so that I could envision it. After many (happy) tears, she helped me find my dress and even brought out a bouquet with my wedding colors so that I could really envision my wedding day while taking a visit to the "magic room". We ended up having a lot in common, and she had an incredible calming aura about her which made the experience seamless. We drove almost two hours one way to make the appointment, and I would highly recommend Angela (and the lovely other staff) at Becker's Bridal. read more

My experience with Becker's Bridal was back in 2018 when I was shopping for the dress but I never had a chance to share my opinion till now. We went to Kleinfeld in NYC and found a style of dress I liked but I just couldn't justify flying out there for tailoring and the order time was super long, not to mention the price tag for something so simple. I'm also not crazy with brands when it comes to wedding dress. Someone told me about Becker's and I thought why not. It was awesome in many steps: 1) appointment booking process was simple and flexible, the staff contacted me and worked with me on my availability. Fast response time 2) large selection, rep seemed to have good knowledge and hone in to what I looked for ok 3) even when I didn't find "the dress", they had someone else come in to gather more info, I believe Derek was the one asking me what I liked in other dresses I've tried and what I envisioned. I saw a style and silhouette of one of their dresses that I liked but didn't care for the fabric material, I wanted something more polished like Mikado Silk. Derek made a call to the designer on the spot and bam! Made it happen. The additional fee was reasonable and they even made recommendation for the seamstress who could make additional custom work on the dress afterward for me as well (I wanted to add certain look to the back of the dress). They helped me order additional yards of fabric, etc. Again, all very smooth 4) Their seamstress recommendation, Han, also was legit! I told her my dateline and she worked with me and made same day revision when it didn't look the way I wanted. Great customer service all around. Final result of my dress is something unique and can'y be found exactly the same elsewhere. Could I have done this elsewhere? Perhaps, but Becker's is right by me and why not support our very own? This place beats Kleinfeld for the sensibles like moi. I've since taken my best friend, my colleague there and they found their dresses. Beckers Bridal is the worst bridal shop I have ever been to. They have plenty of selection and the dresses are cheap, but a few things left a really bad taste in my mouth. First, I was considering putting two dresses together and the staff seemed more than willing to accommodate. However, when I said I wanted to sleep on it, my stylist said how that's a horrible idea and that I should be making a decision based on my feelings. Unfortunately for them, I'm not the type of person that makes any financial decisions based on emotions. I do understand this is a sales position during a global pandemic, but no bride should ever feel pressured into making a decision they are unsure about. The second thing that really upset me is I was charged $40 to get my bust and waist measured. They offered to measure me and I said, "sure" then, wrapping up the appointment they said, "that will be $40." If I would have known it would cost $40 to get measured, I never would have agreed to it! I have been to at least 3 high-end salons and I have never been charged for a measurement. It's outrageous! Baffled and a bit confused, I paid the $40, and after my card went through, that's when someone spoke up and said, "Did you tell her about the promotion and how to use the card?" *The promotion was get measured now for $40, and get $60 off your dress purchase if you place your order within two weeks.* That seems like something they should have explained to me BEFORE I swiped my card. Not to mention, that promotion is not that great of a deal. I messed up by telling them my budget without researching the salon. My budget is much higher than any dresses they even carry in the store and based on that information, I truly believe they took advantage of me. The cherry on top? My stylist was complaining about wearing a mask and one employee didn't even have hers on. I do no recommend Becker's Bridal and I do not take pleasure in writing reviews that reflect poorly on a business, but my hope is to let other brides be aware of my experience and how sneaky and aggressive this place can be. read more

Lacy was able to pick a one-of-a-kind dress for me, designed by Shelly, the store owner. I was the first and only girl to try on this dress, and because it fit me, Lacy allowed me to purchase the dress off the rack so that I had a one-of-a-kind dress. Being able to be the only girl to try on this dress was an incredible experience. Shelly had never seen the dress on before and took the time to help me choose the perfect veil. Their layout is great for multiple brides to shop at once, the employees are always friendly and prompt to respond to your questions and their customer service is excellent. I have shopped at 7 different stores and have tried on way too many dresses. After all that, I had a great experience finally finding my dress at Becker's Bridal! They have a beautiful facility, friendly staff, and a HUGE selection of dresses to try on. Best of all, they're not all size 10! I was able to try on dresses close to my size. No clips needed! Also if you've shopped around, I'm sure you've noticed that different stores have different prices for the same dress!! Not to worry, I found Becker's to be priced well on a variety of dresses I came to see. Great bang for your buck! They'll also give you a credit toward an accessory of your choice if you buy on your first visit! My only complaint is that they won't give you the name of the designer until your purchase your dress. I understand why, but it's a pain when you simply want to find more photos of the dress on actual brides. I went home and searched for hours to find the designer of the dress I was considering. I was put off when the consultant started off the appointment by talking sizes, especially because most bridal gowns do not run standard, and can be ordered in a slew of different sizes. I think had we worked with a more experienced person, things would have happened differently. That said, our sales person was very sweet, and she did choose some fantastic dresses, they just weren't right. I came here with almost all of my family in June for my first ever appointment to try on wedding gowns. I had an idea of what I wanted, but they went above my expectations. I tried on well over 20 dresses within a couple of hours before choosing the dress. I was so comfortable throughout my appointment and they did a wonderful job of deciphering what I liked about each dress to help me pick the perfect one. This was my first wedding dress shopping experience and I ended up buying my dress there! Lacey was my bridal consultant and she was absolutely wonderful through the entire process. I had some idea of what I was looking for but was overall unsure - she did a great job listening to my intuition and helping me explore! I ended up finding THE dress there and I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience! I really felt like Lacey was there for me as a bride, not just there to make a commission. They have SO many gowns in so many sizes (I wear a size 16-18 pant and had plenty of options). I got to try on Casablanca Bridal gowns that weren't even available for retail yet! Very bad experience. Even worse with covid. They have so many brides packed into the salon. Extreme lack of distancing. These stylists do not help you getting dressed or even hanging up the gowns. My stylist was EXTREMELY pushy and I felt like I wanted to cry. She even threatened that I could not purchase the gown after my first visit. I asked why I couldn't have it ordered on another day and then she clarified that I could but because it was a trunk show gown I couldn't try it on again. I felt that was a very deceiving comment to make. I asked several times to think about it and kept saying how I felt overwhelmed and full of anxiety and she couldn't pick up on the hint that I needed some time. I understand that this is sales for them but that is not the type of experience any bride wants when shopping for their dress. On top of that, none of the dresses she chose for me were in line with what I asked for. I showed her multiple Enzoani dresses and she pulled none for me - only the trunk show gowns that they were pushing that day. On top of that all of the gowns were itchy and seemed of lower quality than the other salons I have been to. The reason for giving it at least one star was our amazing experience in the upstairs Phoenix lounge afterwards. We drove 5 hours round trip to go to Becker's. We were shoved in a small corner with 10 other people who were there with other brides. The young lady who helped us was very sweet but did not know the inventory at all. We asked for Demetrios or Stephen Yearick as stated on their website that they carried these designers. They had them put away somewhere and came out with ONE dress from each designer. We kept explaining what we were looking for and the stylist kept bringing dresses that were not even close. They way over book brides it was complete chaos in there. We felt very rushed. It was a complete waste of an entire day to go there I would not recommend. read more

I recently said "Yes to the Dress!" At Becker's Bridal! I booked my appointment after hearing rave reviews about their bridal shop. My bridal attendant was Lacey (i think that was her name anyway) and she was perfect! She was the perfect match for helping me find my wedding gown. She was personal, gave advice, answered any and all questions i had, and even helped my Maid of Honor with learning how to properly bustle my dress. She listened to what I was looking for in a dress but also helped me keep an open mind about other styles. She's actually the one who picked my dress! She listened to what I was looking for and brought what she thought would be a good fit for me to try on, and she was spot on! The dress was perfect and fit perfect! I had a horrible experience here. I came in after hearing great reviews from friends and coworkers only to be completely underwhelmed. The stylist I had did not listen to any of my feedback. She was pulling gowns that didn't look like anything I showed her and it was frustrating. I also do not recommend this salon to anyone looking for a personal or more private experience. I had heard great things about Beckers and while I did end up buying my gown here, I had a mediocre experience. All of the perks are just as other reviewers mentioned. They do have many dresses in many different sizes which is a huge perk. The staff person who assisted me was nice, but I did feel as though she pressured me to purchase the dress that day. They were having some kind of special where if you buy the dress that day, you received $100 store credit. I was torn between two dresses- one that was $750 and one that was $1,500. So of course I was pushed to make the pricey decision that day. I'm glad I ended up with the specific dress I did (the pricey one), but I would really rather not have been pushed to make the decision that day. When I called to make an appointment to pick up my dress, weeks in advance, they insisted that I could only come in the moment the shop opened Saturday or on a week night. I understand why they would want to reserve prime time slots for those who were purchasing a dress, but I ended up feeling slighted. Especially considering my mother lives 2 hours away, so that made either an early morning or late night for her. Finally, brides should know that Beckers does NOT do tailoring in house. I wasn't impressed with the seamstress I picked off of their list of suggestions (Cocos off the Rack in Okemos). read more

TIP: If you need more time to shop for a dress and need assistance with purchasing a dress, take a day off with your mom or sister ON A WEEKDAY. Weekends are the busiest. Don't even try to write a bad review of this place if you were a walk in and needed instant attention on a weekend. THE MAGIC ROOM: I came here to see the room full of mirrors that gives a bride a 360 degree view of her dress-to-be. And... I didn't just see the room, I said yes to the dress. And when my Casablanca gown came in, the magic room made it THAT much more emotional when mom put the veil on my head and I saw myself standing as a bride for the first time. This store brings a smile on my face whenever I think about it. I can't recommend this location enough. THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE: Buying a wedding gown can be overwhelming. In fact, I had all my bridesmaids, mom and mother in law help me shop. My sales girl knew how to work me in and out of their selections for me without compliant. She could tell that I was overwhelmed and helped me decide which dress I really wanted to try on and humbly helped me reject my not so favorites in front my family. ONE STOP SHOPPING AREA: What's neat about this location is that it offers ALL sizes of wedding gowns, so you don't need to be jumper cabled in. You can actually see how your dress would fit YOUR body type. And afterwards, you can go across the street to shop for bridesmaids dresses and party dresses for mom and grandma :) read more

My Fiance and I are at that point in our wedding planning that requires us to divest all of our income on a wedding gown. As a result we've begun shopping around looking for the right gown at the right price. Because I think that my gender, probably, devalues my opinion of the bridal salon here is my fiances opinion: "My experience with Becker's Bridal was very lack luster. I came to my appointment extremely prepared; I had gone through the website and picked 12-15 gowns that fit my vision for my dress. I had to drive for 45 minutes and was very excited to see what I thought would be a large selection of gowns. When I came in, the consultant seemed very uninterested in my needs. At the start of the appointment, I told the consultant I had found a gown elsewhere but was hoping that I could find similar gowns for less than $1,350. She took my printout of gowns and said that a majority of the gowns were no longer available, that "they had just sold them," and the few gowns that were available were beyond my price range. She said she would go get the one gown that they did have (of 15) and that I could look through their selection on the floor. There were only 3 racks of dresses she said that I could look through as I am a size 2-4. When she came back she had brought only two dresses (including the one on my list) and I was unable to find anything on the racks other than gaudy beaded monstrosities. The two gowns I got to try on were not good; both felt really cheap for the price and the consultant did not seem interested in trying to help me find a more suitable gown. I would not recommend this bridal shop to my friends: their online stock does not represent their inventory and customer service was lack luster. Other shops I visited presented me with more options regardless of their inventory size and were much more personable and interested in making the gown shopping experience a good one." --D. I had a great experience here with my mom and two sisters (who are also my bridesmaids in my upcoming wedding). My mom heard about Becker's from a coworker whose daughter was a recent bride. They had visited many bridal stores across the state together and insisted that Becker's was the best. So I made an appointment while I was in town visiting for the holidays. Perhaps I should preface this review by noting that my previous bridal salon experiences had been at two NYC stores. I live in NYC now, but grew up in Michigan and will be returning there for my wedding this fall. I was astounded when I walked into Becker's and saw the sheer amount of sample gowns that they have available to try on. And -- perhaps most amazingly of all -- the SIZE selection of the sample gowns. As a tiny girl (I ended up measuring a 2P), I was starting to dread dress shopping knowing that the majority of the sample gowns would need to be pulled back with those gigantic jumper cable-style clips. NOT the case at Becker's -- the entire first floor was size 0-6. There were larger gowns upstairs, but I didn't even need to venture up there because I found a plethora of gowns I wanted to try on that were very close to my size. There were not so many gowns crammed onto the racks that you couldn't easily pull out individual ones. The gowns were not zipped into plastic bags. I was allowed to touch them. Basically, I was in heaven. I also loved that my mom was allowed to help me in and out of the gowns so I didn't have to strip down to my underwear in front of a stranger. I was assisted by Mona, who was absolutely lovely. She did not rush us at all and she found me THE PERFECT headpiece to go with the gown I chose. Also, The Magic Room is amazing. 'Nuff said. Yes, I ended up purchasing my dress at Becker's.
