What??? That's why we made an appt lady!!!! She was pushy to only look at the racks of my size to encourage you to purchase off the rack dresses. Given that we're only having a 7-month long engagement, going to bridal salons and ordering gowns was out of the question. In comes the Dowry to save the day! Staff: The staff is really friendly and helpful. The place is owned by Emily, a really sweet girl who really tries to accommodate you, even if it means she has to go out of her way. I made an appointment and worked with Anita, one of the store employees who is incredibly supportive and attentive. She greeted me warmly when I arrived and asked me what I was looking for in a wedding dress. True to what I described, she picked gowns that fit the description and stayed under the budget I gave her. Selection: The store is full of dresses that have never been worn at a steal of a price but there are also consigned gowns, too. I've seen labels like Pronovias and Allure on their racks. They have everything from sheaths to full-blown princess dresses. The dress I fell in love with is a Dere Kiang gown that seemed to be consigned to the store; it even had the original veil with it! There are even some evening formal dresses and special occasion dresses in their store, so if you have a formal event coming up, stop by to take a look! Overall experience: I was able to put my dress on hold for a week but ended up going back a few days later with a friend to get a second opinion and try it on a second time. I couldn't walk away the second time but was able to get the dress and the veil for under $300! Each time I talked to Emily or Anita, I was met and received with friendliness and genuine concern for what I wanted. I would DEFINITELY recommend the Dowry to anyone who is looking to do a wedding on a low budget or if you're like me and just think it's ridiculous to pay an arm and a leg for a dress ;)

However, I left disappointed with the whole experience. When we first met our consultant, Donna, she acted as if she was annoyed that we were there for our appointment. She never formally introduced herself and practically ignored my mother throughout the whole appointment. It seemed as if we were more of an inconvenience to her than a potential customer. The dresses she pulled were beautiful, but not in line with the inspiration photos I had showed her (even though I had asked if we could try on dresses that were more similar to those pictures throughout the appointment). If someone asked for recommendations of where to look for their wedding dress, Fantastic Finds would not be at the top of my list.

I could visibly see my bride and mothers shoulders relax after meeting Mary for the first time, a few weeks before the wedding. Mary had all sorts of supplies we could use (all for free) and really knew her stuff. During our rehearsal, Mary instructed everyone to come to her on the day of the wedding. Not me (the groom), not my mother, not the bride, but her. She played the QB and handled everything. Guys, and girls, in a world where couples getting married are nickled and dimed for every little thing, this place is the opposite. Never once did Mary say something like "Sure, we can do that for an extra fee". Everything was "Oh sure, here's what I have, what do you think?" You can tell both Chris and Mary really enjoy their work. I have nothing but glowing comments to say about them and their facility. I would recommend them a hundred times over if I could. Go with them and their facility, you won't regret it.
