I rarely write 1-star reviews but strongly feel this is necessary…read more My husband and I met with Jennifer Deland to discuss estate planning, and the meeting it was extremely unproductive and frustrating. Jennifer requires a $400 non-refundable fee for a consultation fee unless you sign on with her within 30 days - this was our first mistake, but a good (costly) learning for us. First, we sat in a tiny, dingy room that barely fit three as she struggled to find usable space on a whiteboard that was stained with marker. Realizing she couldn't erase the board, she opted to use someone else's faded hen-scratches to "guide" our discussion. She jumped from topic to topic erratically, and our specific questions seemed to throw her off. She repeatedly referenced what other clients have done rather than provide guidance on what would best suit our needs, which is why we were there! We came prepared with a 1-page Asset Summary that she barely read through and asked where our "receipts" were. Why she needed proof of our assets is beyond me - this was supposed to be a consultation. She did, however, pull public records of our home in advance of the meeting. As it became apparent that she wanted us to "pick" an approach and sign on with her, we pushed back, citing that we were in no way prepared to select an approach given our minimal understanding of our options. She then leaned into us and rudely blurted out, "Well, what is your objective?" Stunned, we responded, "to create a plan". The conversation was maddening. After a few unsuccessful attempts to convince us to sign on with her, she said, "OK, let me make one last-ditch effort" (were we buying a used car?) She began typing frantically on her laptop, explaining that she needed to make thorough notes about our meeting and said we'd be receiving a letter with "curt language" in the mail, but we could still change our minds within 30 days. To wrap up, she asked if we had a "little check for her". Sorry, $400 is hardly little. We paid her, took our asset inventory and left.

We were absolutely thrilled with our experience with Kenneth Collinson, who guided us through the…read morefairly complex process of creating a will and establishing a trust for our estate. Ken was incredibly knowledgeable, gifted at explaining complicated concepts and was attentive to each and every detail of the task. We left much better informed about our own estate and financial situation and were incredibly relieved to have finally completed the process, knowing our affairs were in order. Thank you Ken!

Worst estate planner in Boston. The firm is owned by David Sorgi. The man is pushing 80. He is…read moreslow, forgetful, and incompetent. My sister and I are currently filing formal complaints with the Bar Association in Massachusetts and the Attorney General's office due to David Sorgi's bizarre and unprofessional behavior. Unfortunately, before my parents could fire him, they were both severely injured by the COVID vaccines which ultimately led to my father's death and the rapid deterioration of mother who is still alive. My mother has instructed David Sorgi on five different occasions to release all documentation to the custody of me and my sister so that we could get our sizable estate in order. However, David Sorgi, for reasons unknown, has repeatedly refused to release these documents Despite being told verbally over the phone on five different occasions by my mother to release the documents. He then forgets within 48 hours and the entire process must be started again. Simply arranging a phone call between him and my mother is challenging given my mother's disabilities. To make matters worse, Mr. Sorgi has made no effort to update my mother's 15-year-old will, even though there is over $20 million of additional assets that are still not listed. He hardly ever responds to phone calls or emails. My sister and I also believe he is conspiring with my younger brother who has recently used my father's death to seize control of the family finances and is essentially David Sorgi paymaster now; Which would explain David Sorgi's reluctance to finalize my mother's last will and testament and comply with our requests to see the Trusts As we believe they favor my brother. The last will and testament that David drafted 15 years ago, granted the executor of the estate, godlike powers, and the ability to cut out any other family members if they protest in anyway. Despite my mother's assurances that the estate will be split three ways, David Sorgi has made it impossible to confirm this information And he seems hell bent on preventing us from examining these documents. He also has made no attempt to draft or finalize a second Last Will & testament to account for the $20-plus million worth of assets. My sister and I are currently speaking with law firms simply to retrieve the trusts that David Sorgi was ordered by my mother to give us. As incredible as all this sounds, it is 100% true and it would appear David Sorgi is suffering from Alzheimer's or some type of rapid mental degeneration.

We decided to…read moresell the house by owner and we were anxious to perform such a large transaction without the help of a realtor. When we met with Craig we already had a buyer lined up and wanted to discuss our current situation. We also had a list of questions regarding what we needed to do next and what the process looked like as a whole. Craig was a great listener and was able to clearly explain everything that needed to be done. He was excellent at describing the next immediate step in context of the larger picture and it was clear that he was knowledgeable about the process. He was easy going and was in no way intimidating or belittling. Following our first meeting we decided that we wanted Craig to represent us. When working with anyone our biggest fear is that they will not be available when you need them. During the entire process Craig was available to answer questions and to get things done. His response time via email or phone/text was almost immediate. At no time did we feel like we could not reach him. Often, Craig would check in with us to make sure we understood what we needed to get done and to remind us of the next step. Most importantly we felt as if Craig made our best interest his largest priority. He was key in negotiations with the buyers by offering advice on how to proceed. He was exceptional at putting often emotional decisions into perspective. When reviewing legal documents he was very thorough; he reviewed them with us section by section, and worked to change any wording that was not in our best interest. He worked closely with the sellers attorney when drafting and editing documents. Never did we feel uncomfortable when he contacted the sellers/attorney on our behalf. The process of selling a home (especially your first) is nerve wracking, and we were by no means confident that we could do it without the help of a realtor. However, after we decided to work with Craig, that anxiety resolved. His hard work ethic, accountability, responsiveness, and knowledge about the process allowed us to feel much better about the transaction regardless of the outcome. We could not recommend Craig more highly and thank him for all of the help and guidance that he was able to provide. Six stars.
