We needed drywall on our ceiling because of a bathroom leak and in my office, because we took down a door.We also needed our porch rail power washed and painted. I checked Yelp and the reviews were great so we decided to give it a try. Jeff was very professional and was able to squeeze us in the day after Thanksgiving. We were very happy with the work, you can't tell there was a door in my office or a hole in our living room, where the water damage had been. The painting on the porch looks great as well. Rob and Jeff are top notch professionals. I interviewed five painters to paint our daughter's room. None of the others impressed me and one of them was a complete gabehcoud (you can read that word back words). For the room we needed painted we had pricing all over the board. I spoke and met with Rob. He was very friendly, responsive, and their quote was very fair. Immediately, I felt very comfortable to make my decision to hire them without consulting husband. Their turnaround time was fast. We met last week, I had an instant quote (because it was a small job), I received the contract a few days later, and Jeff was at my house exactly 1 week later. We had some widespread repairs that needed to be done in our home after some other work was completed. Most importantly we wanted the old school hand applied skip trowel texture to match that existing on the walls and ceilings. We contacted several companies and received quotes from all. We have a large, almost 5000 square foot house that hadn't been painted since we bought it in 2002. We interviewed/ received bids from three painters, including Jeff Cushing who was recommended by our neighbor, a general contractor. Jeff's bid was the most competitive and he seemed the most knowledgeable and attuned to our needs, so we hired him to paint our home, inside and out. We definitely made a great choice. The paint on the outside and inside looks absolutely gorgeous, by all accounts. Jeff and his partner Ryan did a first rate, professional job. On the outside, they cleaned up everything first by doing a very thorough job on the power washing. They also fixed some large stucco cracks on the outside, and we can't see them anymore. The inside needed some dry walling and those holes were expertly patched as well. We kept adding smaller painting jobs on the inside: an area of cabinets upstairs, the fireplace hearths, the kitchen Island; Jeff said "Yes" to everything we asked, always with a great attitude, and the extra charges were minimal. Jeff and Ryan are an excellent team: They were always on time and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Very impressive. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! After speaking with Jeff last week via phone and text about patch work, he stated he would come Sunday morning at 9am. We sent him a picture of the repair, he sent us the quote. He was very responsive in the scheduling. We hadn't expected a Sunday appointment. We even asked if there were additional costs for Sunday appointments because we could take time off of work for a regular appointment. He said no. Yay! We contacted him a few days later to ask how much time we needed to let it dry, to schedule the next contractor to come in because we currently have no bathroom sink. He gave us the dry time so we knew when to schedule the sink. Sunday, 9am came and went and no Jeff. 10 am came...and you guessed it, no Jeff. We sent texts asking when he was coming. Nothing. No response. So now, 2 hours after the appointment, I'm PRETTY sure we've been stood up. So tomorrow, we will not only have to call and find someone else that can do the repair, then call the contractors that were coming in behind Jeff, and cancel. Then hope we can reschedule with them fairly quickly after we get another drywall person. Besides this being really a lousy business practice, what a jacka$$ of a guy to make people sit around on their day off, probably with no intention of ever showing up. He was very responsive to my original contact, coming over to see the damage and then later that evening he provided me a very competitive bid covering the repair and the repainting of the two rooms. I contracted to have Cushing Painting and Drywall fix the cracks as well as repaint the two bedrooms. We set a date. Rob did some ceiling repair and paint work at my rental property. He did a good job of patching, floating and texturing the ceiling. There was an issue about paint color match on the ceiling. The day he started work told him the original paint can (Kelly Moore Premium Acry-Plex 550-27 Bone) was in the garage and color of ceiling was bone. He called me during the work process and said the ceiling paint he purchased did not match the adjoining ceiling and to match it he would charge me additional time and $. I did not want to pay for more hours of work and additional paint so I said to proceed. Later that day I called Kelly-Moore and was told the paint Rob bought was a Professional (lower priced) not Premium grade that I purchased. KM said that would explain the darker color difference. Made the assumption Rob would color match my ceiling as all the other drywall painter quotes proposed. Received invoice and called Rob to give him my credit card. He informed me he only accepts cash or check. Suggested he state payment terms on future quotes to customers. read more
