Unbelievably terrible service Had two window seat cushions recovered here. Impossible to get someone to help when I first went in, but eventually they helped and got my cushions into the pipeline. I brought my own fabric, so you think it would be quick and easy. Spent an hour (two cushions) just to give me an estimate and take a deposit. I had driven all the way over there, so I thought, what the heck, maybe I got them on a bad day. Promised deliver in 8 weeks--took them 10. Quality of finished cushions was excellent. Went there two days ago to give them a second chance, bringing three cushions to be replaced (with my own fabric again). Spent 35 minutes with the gentleman, and he couldn't give me an estimate, said the guy who really knows about this would have to call me the next day (which was yesterday, which he didn't ). Our family room sofa, although about ten years old (and was expensive when we bought it), is in great shape and has removable covers for the seat cushions. Seat cushions wear out over time, especially if you sit on them (go figure). Anyway, after looking around for someone who could make new cushion inserts for this sofa, I finally decided to try Cushion World (despite the lackluster reviews). I'm glad I did. They did a nice job. The type of cushion insert that I chose was definitely not cheap, but it mirrored the original type of cushion that came with the sofa when it was new. They have quite a few options of cushion material and firmness, so pricing will vary. Anyway, this was about a year ago that I had these cushions made. Overall, the process was less painless than I expected. The last time I had cushions made at another shop in another state, I had to leave my cushions and covers there for a couple of weeks until they could make mine. Needless to say that it's rather inconvenient not to have seat cushions on your sofa for that long. What happened with Cushion World was that I went to their shop one day mid-week and right after they opened (I highly recommend this) and brought my seat cushions with me. They measured the existing cushions while I was there, I chose the type of new cushion material and I went back home with my old cushions. They had to order some material for the cushion type I chose. When that came in (took about two weeks), they called me. I set up a day to bring in my old cushions (and covers) and I left them there for a few hours while they made the cushions that day. And then I went back and picked up the new cushions (with my old fabric covers on them) that same day. My sofa was only without their seat cushions for several hours, not the weeks like at the other business. As an upholstery business, they also have fabric if you need that. I don't know what kind of fabric my cushion covers came with when we bought the sofa, but it has held up remarkably well over the years and hasn't faded. As such, I can't attest to the fabric part of their business, but they do a nice job with the cushion part. I had no issues with their customer service while I was there in person, but it did seem to me that they may not be the most organized when it comes to their paperwork. But overall, I had a very positive experience and I would use them again. read more

I have a stool cushion from Egypt that is made of camel leather. It's 60 years old and in need of either replaced or repair. Cushion World gave me an estimate via email and email and told me to come in and select the covering. My adult niece and I walked in, no acknowledgement whatsoever by the 3 employees. Finally the old lady asked what we needed with about as much enthusiasm as the kitchen sink. I explained what I was looking for and I had already received a quote for labor and stuffing. She pointed to a wall of books and told us to look through them. This was immediately after she advised camel leather was very expensive and would cost at least $600. I had no problem paying that in order to replace the cushion. I asked her how much the faux leather was she was trying to sell me. She became very flustered and quite indignant as she walked away never to return. We looked for a few minutes and it was obvious they didn't want or need our business. We left and not one employee asked if we found what we were looking for or even goodbye. Rudest people I have ever encountered in a retail setting. Zero customer service. We stopped at Tandy Leather on the way home and the contrast in wanting to help a customer was day and night. They gave us a card of a gentleman named Michael Banks and said he can take care of us. 40 business days Mike- I paid in full in September. You have at least 8-10 similar complaints. This has nothing to do with COVID- it's your ethics and integrity. Clearly I called both Chase and PayPal when you stated to Chase you completed the service and you didn't. I'm looking to get my money back- my attorney is aware, and you are the one who breached the contract. It's now March. I am happy to post all of the emails here showing exactly what has occurred and if I can, the voicemails. There is a voicemail with you stating you are clearly late. That was in December. You know what you have done is wrong- and so do many other people who have posted on Yelp, FB and Google. I had an insert cushion made for a very large textile pillow cover. It exceeded all of my expectations. I have some more projects for them also. Mike came to my house to see the furniture to recover and windows for curtains. He was very professional and took the time to measure and share some ideas. He also took time in the showroom to look through fabric books with me and make recommendations. The quotes for the work were delivered in a timely manner and seem to be fair. Great service, on time as promised. These guys were helpful, responsive to emails and phone calls, and were easy to work with. They allow you to get in their work queue and then only bring in your item on the day they are ready to go to work on it. My sofa cushions were ready in one day. I just needed a zipper fixed on a cushion. This place was pretty far away, so I made sure to call ahead and get a quote. $35 was the original quote, which was given to me by 2 different employees. I took the cushion in and was quoted $35 again by 2 other employees. I left the cushion behind to be repaired. When I called to check on the status, they quoted me a $70 "minimum." I literally asked 5 or six times if $35 was the EXACT quote and I even asked if there were any other fees or minimums. This business is an absolute joke. Go anywhere else if you can. read more

I should have read reviews BEFORE I went here! There seems to be a prevailing theme of poor customer service, long lead times and the feeling that has left potential customers that their business isn't important to Cushion World. I was greeted (if you can call it a greeting at all!) by a put together petite mature women, not even a hello, just "Are you here to pick up?" I should have turned around then. I explained to her that I had looked at their website and had a couple of questions about cushion insert replacements. She told me to get the cushions. I brought in two of the three cushions and was guided to an area of the store, which by the way was filthy beyond what you would assume appropriate even considering dust from the upholstering process. I was given 3 options of cushion inserts to test without much explanation other then soft, medium, firm. She told me to test the firmness by placing them into the chair, which the seat bottom was several pieces of cardboard!?!, and she left to measure my cushions. No explanation, no inquiry as to what I might be looking for. ZERO customer service. ZERO opportunity to ask the questions, which brought me in the door in the first place I was presented with two quotes (standard and premium materials), she explained the process, gave a piece of paper to read that consisted of terms and conditions, again no customer service in explaining what I was looking at, then was given a lead time of more 30 days out. When I explained that I only wanted two of the three cushion inserts replaced, she got flustered, told me she'd have to redo the quote, and then figure the tax so I could give her a 50% deposit to hold the date. I asked to review the quote again which seemed a bit pricey, but certainly not an offensive price. I just wanted a second look at it. She became even more flustered, rude and even more unaccommodating. Slid the paper across the counter towards me, I knew in that moment that I did not want to give this place my business. I told her I wanted to hold off for now (which had nothing to do with price!), thanked her for her time, and I'd keep them in mind if I changed my mind. SHE TOOK THE QUOTE OUT OF MY HAND AND TORE IT UP!! What the heck!!! I left feeling disappointed and a clear knowing that they don't deserve my business! read more

I ordered a custom cushion for a wooden church pew I use at my kitchen table. It is much like a window bench cushion. Both of the people I encountered at CW were helpful and knowledgeable. They were professional, if not the friendliest which is fine by me. It has the feeling of a family-run business. I supplied my own fabric and they had no problem with using it. I was very happy with the quality of work. My cushion came out perfectly with nice rolled edges and ties to secure it to the bench. The cost was comparable to priced I had seen elsewhere for custom work. The time to produce was about 4 weeks but it was near the holidays and I was not in any hurry. If I ever have any more needs like this, I will not hesitate to use them again. read more

The cushions arrived well past the maximum promised "Production Time Estimate" of "4-6 weeks". Called the company at six weeks and were told the cushions were not there (work is not done locally). Kept calling weeks after the six week maximum and were told that "4-6 weeks" was calculated in Monday through Friday business days and it was plainly written on the invoice. Well it does NOT say anything about business days on the invoice, it says "4-6 wks". I really do not like to be lied to. The cushions did turn out nice, but this company needs to work on their customer service skills. They took so long that we were not able to use the cushions when we were showing our house to be sold. I had gotten a quote for a bench cushion at national chain I have used several times for furniture and draperies but decided to try this local place on a small project. I purchased my own fabric and then measured my bench, which required custom cushion corners to accommodate the irregular shape of the seat. I took pictures to help them understand. Brought a cushion in for a quote. I was told it would be $250 to recover (I was providing the material). I was told I would need 4.5 yards. I was also told it would take 30 days. I called back to get the process started and was then told that I needed 6 yards of material and that it would cost $350. 30 days was not correct, it was 30 work days. I asked to speak with Michael who had given me the original quote. The next day I spoke with him and said I did not understand how the quote he gave me was worth nothing and he said he did not appreciate that I implied that they were misrepresenting their work.
