Very unhappy Quality of workmanship was very poor. Seems we're coming apart. I called to have it repaired and the came back and said that they would repair it for 600.00 it only cost me 1000.00 they do not stand behind there workmanship. Another one bites the dust! Worst communication, worst internal communication, they have hired and fired and replaced employees like I change underwear! I've been waiting on a "rendering drawing" for about 1 month now, was told "Mike" would come out personally to show us what we're quoted over $12,000 to do yet this company must be wealthy as they haven't contact me in over 2 weeks after I had to call them myself over 4 times within 3 weeks time to hear anything starting from getting someone out to getting a quote to getting a person to show us what our options are and what we're paying for! I drew the line at this point since my patients ran out and they gave me false information and the worst customer service I've ever received PERIOD! I've been told their "Rendering department" is working on it and will send it in 24 hours time, it's been over 24 days!!!! Bad Bad Bad..... Go elsewhere believe me! read more

glad to see that mr. bitar and his company have such good write-ups, but this morning: i wanted to make sure the size of my 3 large residential dome awnings were correct in size and projection. at first he appeared nice on the phone and started to describe the measurements which did not compare to what i gave him in the beginning of my agreement with him. his measurements did not match what i sent him. he kept on repeating his dimensions and tryng to tell me that it could not be what i have because of this and that, but this was not told to me previously..... i again tried to tell him that this was not what i sent him and suddenly....... he began to yell and tell me that he was not going to do the job and he would give me my money back! after i have been waiting for months on this and gave them 50% of the cost and was willing to pay him the hike in price of $1000 more than the previous price was a year ago or so! he hung up the phone on me and that was that. his assistant, mary, called me back and tried to explain what he was saying, but i really had no patience for a person who acted this way with a raised voice....i simply said that i could not waste my time with a person like this and that he should be ashamed! they really lost a lot of business too because i also had another job for them at another house! it is too bad that people lose their mind so easily today! read more

I recently had a pergola installed in my backyard by world of awnings. I first started out with a contractor who was planning to build a wooden pergola. He started the project with four holes for the posts but wanted me to check his measurements to make sure his measurements were accurate. He then proceeded to have me tell him how much lumber to order and rewrite out a design. I've never worked in construction and at the point I realized his lack of experience and decided to pay him for the work he completed and find someone else. Luckily world of awnings was willing to come by my house to see what was already done and give suggestions. They were extremely helpful and even recommended something I've never heard of which is an aluminum pergola which has the looks of a wooden one but no maintenance as they last much longer than wood ones. I ended up saving tons of money and they even sent pictures before installing it. Jose the installer was great. Four guys were in and out within 3 hours and the results are great. I will definitely order from them in the future since we plan on buying a second home in the near future. read more

My personal experiences with the World of Awnings has been spectacular! I just recently finished a project with them and realized I've never shared the wonderful experiences I've had with this company. I am a designer that works with clients who love awnings, canopies, cabanas and shade structures. 10 years ago, I was browsing the Internet for a reliable awning company and I came across the World of Awnings and Canopies who had a really professional website and decided to give them a call. I spoke with a receptionist who scheduled a free estimate for 2 days later. When the sales rep. came to the job location, he was very knowledgable about the products and went as far as recommending several different options my client and I never even considered. A couple of days later, I received a call telling me to check my email and fax for my estimate. The estimate included several options with different prices, which were all very reasonable considering their lead time (2-4 weeks) and professionalism. Along with the estimate came several drawings and renderings for each option (LOVED THIS!). Considering the circumstances with the clients unique backyard, and the options given by the World of Awnings, we decided to proceed with this company. Boy were we glad that we did! As soon as we sent our deposit and the signed contract, one of their crews were sent out to verify all of the measurements before production. The crew came and looked very professional in matching attire and only took about an hour. The next time I got a call from the company was to confirm fabric and frame colors. And finally, 2 weeks later, they called to schedule the installation. The cabana stands beautifully in my clients yard and we could not be happier. Since then, I have always used the World of Awnings for any of my needs, or my clients needs. They are willing to travel all around CA and even outside of that. bad communication. was told by mike the owner he would call me back the next day, and would not hear from him for a week. He told me the permits would be ready for installation, and that was not the case. He strung me along for 4 months, and when i asked for my deposit back because nothing has been done, he says he will have to deduct his expenses. four months have gone and i hae received nothing. I am so happy with the finished product (canopy). These guys are pros. They came out and measured my existing frame, and I had a quote within a day. I was told it may take a couple of weeks for the canopy to be made, then installed. It only took a week. It is beautiful, and the guys who did the install did a fantastic job, very professional, and quality conscious. I highly recommend this company. read more

We purchased several thousands of dollars worth of awnings about 10 years ago from this company. One of the awnings was poorly designed and it needed minor adjustments to make it useable at all (we were unable to use it when there was any breeze at all). I called two months ago to ask for some technical assistance and was promised a call back, which never came. I called again last week and asked if they would send someone out. They sent me a contract for $300 (for a service cal!) and they scheduled a visit, which they cancelled a few hours later. They would not re-schedule the visit until I paid them IN ADVANCE (their company policy - way to support your installation). Then, they told me that it would take 7 - 10 business days after receipt of payment before they would send someone out. It was a minor adjustment! We have never had this kind of experience with any vendor or serviceman. We ended up calling another awning vendor (Van Nuys Awning). They were respectful and knowledgeable (something that A World of Awnings was not). Over the phone, they gave me the information I needed to make the adjustment. I made the adjustment in about 3 minutes. They will be getting my business from now on. read more

I visited their office about a week ago and had even spent some time to be introduced to their sales person and installer and had told me that same day if not Monday they will get in touch with me. Friday 11/10/17 came and went I did not hear anything, then came Monday I called. Apparently Denise whom I spoke with was out. So I spoke to this lady Christine and said don't worry we'll be working on it. Guess what it's been a week and I have not heard or seen any email that they promised they will send. I did not want them to get out of their seats just for me but as a company who they say is reputable the least they can do is update even potential clients. That's just customary for business to do. We'll according to Christine " don't you worry we're working on it" is sufficient and will cut it and nothing to expect? I hate to say this but that not how you can close a deal. We'll atlest for me that is. Don't go to this company unprofessional employees. read more

I called world of awnings because I needed shade for my backyard. Two guys came and took measurements and gave me several options and ideas. Later that day a girl at the office sent me pictures of what the awnings would look like. I changed my mind several times and each time they were patient with me. After finally making up my mind they submitted my work order and were at my house shortly after to Install the awning. The guys were very clean and quick. I love my awning and finally get to enjoy my backyard. I will definitely use them for future business as we plan to sell and buy. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my awning. WOA's did a spectacular job not only putting an awning on the third floor deck of my house but they also custom-made a cover for my infrared sauna. They were super efficient and I was particularly impressed with the crew that came to install the awning. They did such beautiful and professional work. The ladies in the office were always pleasant to deal with and made sure that the crew met my deadline before Christmas as I was preparing to have a house guest. I also really liked the guy that came out to give an estimate- what a pleasant man! Overall a great experience and at a fair price. I did get another estimate from another company and they quoted me over double the amount that WOA did- what a rip off- wish I could remember their name.
