We recently had an amazing experience with Where Shade Is Made in Anaheim and I wanted to share. A couple of years ago we had awnings installed by another company. During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. When I was remodeling after moving in, I decided to rebuild the old patio cover. And I was torn between a solid roof on the patio cover vs slatted wood and corrugated plastic patio roofing. Even though I preferred the functionality of a solid roof, I was afraid it would make the patio area look too dark and closed in since my backyard isn't very deep. I ultimately decided to go with the slatted cover with plastic roofing panels to protect from rain. But I knew those plastic panels would be ugly. So I decided to get these retactable sail shades for both aesthetic and sun-filtering purposes. It was perfect for me because I'm a bit of a commitment-phobe. Not only are they retractable (giving me options on visibility), but they require minimal hardware on the patio cover itself and the shades could be removed reasonably easily if I wanted. I needed my six year old awnings and exterior shades cleaned and repaired and wanted to learn about upgrading the motors. In 2005 we purchased a retractable awning for the front deck of our home from "Where Shade is Made" We've used it regularly and it has worked great, for almost 20 years now!! This is an amazing company. Steve is always friendly and willing to help when I call. I had the fabric replaced about 4 years ago and it still looks like new. Jimmy came out to replace the fabric and to remove and reinstall the shade because I needed to have some work done on the front of the house. They came out, gave an measured our existing shade, had me choose the fabric I preferred, and gave me a quote right away. Theirs was the lowest of two I got but both were close to the same amount. When they came, I asked if I could paint the existing frame quickly since it had weathered some with the old fabric on it. They pulled the frame off and got them onto ground level.
