I won't be able to explain my full animosity and frustration with Emenac Packaging in one review post. However, my hope is that anyone who reads this review will stay far away from this company and will look elsewhere for packaging needs. You will waste an unbelievable amount of time, energy and life speaking with Harry (CEO), Mark (Sales Rep), Nathan (Sales Rep) and company. The process of fulfilling my order with this company took 5 weeks longer than it was supposed to and lost my company thousands of dollars of business in the process. We didn't have any boxes to sell our product in. In the process of fulfilling my order, I sent over 25 emails with Mark (sales rep) and he forgot who I was two times. This was after I had paid for the completion of the boxes in advanced. I had to reintroduce myself. After delaying my company 5 extra weeks, and losing my company thousands of dollars and sales, Harry (the CEO with decision-making power), told me all he could do was send an extra 100 boxes the next time I placed an order. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!! PRICE GAUGING AND UNETHICAL PRACTICES!!! I READ reviews for this company on another site that turned out to be fraudulent, so I decided to add them on Yelp. All the positive reviews are on the same dates. Also, the influx of positive reviews come after a bad review is left. Major red flag that I wish i would've noticed before i gave them my money. Furthermore, this company is located in Pakistan, not Irvine, CA. The address listed in there profile is to a virtual office they pay $25/month for. The lies start before you even pick up the phone to call them! Now on to my experience with Emenac. It starts off great and they're beyond accommodating BEFORE they have your money. I chose to use them because they claim to be based in the US, however, they are not. They have a business address here, but they are in Pakistan, the person you're working with is in Pakistan and the products are shipped from Pakistan. Because I didn't want to deal with importing from China, I assumed a US company would be my best bet. They claim to be in US, but are not. They claim free shipping, but you'd still be paying half what they quote you for production and importing from China. They also try to discourage you from ordering samples with ridiculous sample costs so that you end up stuck with a subpar product. I found this out after the fact. I should have done my due diligence, and i hope i can encourage someone else to do theirs. So, I agree to a price with them for custom shipping boxes, send them my artwork and then I ask them to hold off on shipping until I get my new artwork. They agreed and had no issues with this. They told me they had not started printing my boxes. Once i receive my updated artwork for the 2 boxes i already ordered and asked them for quotes on 4 additional boxes, this is where all the problems started. I'd received an email from them for 25% off boxes that i forwarded to my representative and informed her i'd like to apply this to my additional 4 boxes i want to add to my order. She came back with prices that were way higher than my first quotes. I asked her about the 25% off and she said the email should have said 2 - 25% off. 2%???? REALLY?! What am i going to do with 2%?! And even still, why are the prices HIGHER you've applied a 2% discount? She said the 25% was a marketing error, and i informed her that good customer service would be to honor that error. She refused and i moved on from that issue. So once i realized that the boxes they were going to print for me would not match my other boxes, I decided to get other products from them. I requested quotes, received there ridiculous prices, and was still going to move forward instead of requesting a refund. I requested custom rigid set up gift boxes that they claimed they could do, agreed to their gauged prices, but once they sent me pictures of samples i saw it wasn't what i requested. They tried to convince me the boxes would be nice and just fine. For $5/box, it needs to be what i want! So i follow up to see if this is something they can produce, and they tell me they can but i need to increase my minimums and now the price is $10 - $15. They literally make stuff up as they go. How can the price be $10 - 15 when you have the measurements? That's a big difference in price per box. So now i need to order $15,000 in gift boxes or you won't print them? The same box is $6/box elsewhere. So at this point, I'd had it with the ridiculous antics. It's clear they have no desire to do the right thing by their customers. I requested a refund and then they tell me they have to see how much costs were incurred from the initial boxes that i cancelled printing on. Earlier they'd told me they didn't start printing, and now all of a sudden they incurred costs. So I'm supposed to wait for them to make up some numbers so that they can keep all my money instead of refunding me??? What a joke! They don't respond to emails once they have your money. I have to call them to follow up on everything. Every time i call, the representative (now I'm working with 2 different people), are out to lunch. No matter what time of day, they're out to lunch or just back from lunch so this is their excuse for not getting back to you. Once i called the rep was out to lunch and 4 hours later the same day she's on her way to lunch...what?! Keep your lies together! Furthermore, they are very vague on the shipped and to your door date. They don't want to tell you they're in Pakistan, so they claim it gets to you in 7 - 9 days. That's actually when it's shipped from Pakistan. That's not when it will arrive to you. Also, you can't file a complaint with the BBB because they're not based in the US. Some companies want customers for a lifetime and some want to get what they can get out of you and then scam the next person/business. SAVE YOURSELF TIME, MONEY AND STRESS AND DON'T USE EMENAC! First, let me say that I never purchased anything from Emenac. So, they could, possibly produce nice boxes, BUT I DOUBT IT! I blame myself for not cutting them off when I saw the red flags time after time. I am a designer who has designed packaging before. I had a very difficult time communicating with the sales rep. I sent a complete set of specs, including the weight of the materials to be shipped. The first (and second, and third) estimates came back with cardstock that would not hold the weight of the products being shipped. When I discussed this with the rep, she was hesitant to change the stock as it would raise the price and suggested I use the outer shipping box to support the one that I was trying to have them print. WHAAAT? and then what happens when the client tries to take the box out of the shipping box? Eventually I was able to have them change the specs on the material. Throughout the process, the rep was pushing to close the deal before month's end. I repeatedly had to inform her that I was working with the client on design, so I wouldn't be rushed and I certainly wouldn't rush my client just so that Emenac could have another sale before month's end. When we were ready with artwork, Emenac sent a template for the die line, as well as all the contract information, that had all caps, bold, red lettering everywhere that said, they were not responsible for any errors in the artwork. Fairly normal, but I made a full-scale mock-up and the Emenac provided die was incorrect, the box wouldn't close correctly. Emenac informed me that the die was only to place the artwork, and that they would ensure that the box would fold correctly (despite the bold, red, all caps warnings of them not being responsible for errors). When I told them that I could not rely on them saying that the die would be altered, that I needed a new die, they said to "Trust them," that this is what their business does everyday. I trust nobody when it comes to delivering quality products for my customers. I insisted on a new die, so one was provided. Again, it was incorrect. At this point, I ended the relationship, thanking them for their efforts, but I could not rely on them for quality of product and I would be taking my business elsewhere. Which is when I was bombarded with e-mails from the sales rep, the VP, and others, begging me to come back, offering a free mock-up sample (which I had continually been asking for throughout the process and was willing to pay for, but kept getting brushed off). Defected Boxes and failure of the promise. They said the box is manufactured in New York but came from Parkistan with total defects. Printing is messed up and contaminated with messy ink, defected lamination, color discrepancies, peeling off the lamination and loss of symmetry and you name it. This company is lieing everything and fails to deliver as ordered. In spite of multiple requesst of replacement, no answers. They are on line brokers with no manufacturing capacity. Be careful. They promised to fix it today Feb. 28, 2017 After more than 1 month of waiting I contacted again and they said Supervisor Jeff is gone and Harry is in charge. But I do not believe anybody is in charge since they keep rotating. Harry said If I remove the bad rating they will fix it. I refused because they failed on me. But I will write their result of resolution if they fix it. It appears this online company is a broker and do not follow up Quality. Also their Irvine address is a Fake since that Office Sharing company on that address says that company is NOT LISTED. I AM WAITING FOR THE RESOLUTION. This company claims to be in the US, but based on all my phone calls and emails it is clear that they are not. They misprinted my order twice, and now will not respond to emails or phone calls. The first time I received the misprinted items, they covered the cost of a reprint. Still not right, now they are just completely ignoring me. I am filing a claim with the BBB who will hopefully help expose their fraudulent activity. I am out several hundred dollars as I've already paid for my order in full. read more
