The installation left a drain on the car battery that no one could find or fix - not the Mercedes shop or even the initial installer. Eric said to bring it by. I got an alarm installed here in 2015. The alarm works great and I've never even had to replace the battery in the remote. But this review isn't about my original alarm experience. My car suddenly lost all power while I was in a parking lot. I thought it was a dead battery, but the guy from AAA said that my battery was at 95% and the issue was a malfunctioning alarm system. He seemed so sure of it and didn't share any other suggestions or theories. I had issues over the next few days with my car randomly losing power and then working normally. It became too unreliable, so I stopped driving it and scheduled an appointment to have the alarm uninstalled, trusting that the AAA guy knew what he was talking about. That was my mistake. Fortunately, I was able to start my car Saturday morning and had no problem getting to Custom Car Audio. When I tried to restart my car to move it so that Eric could check it out, it had no power again. He looked at it and disconnected the alarm within a few minutes, which immediately told him that the alarm wasn't the problem since the car still had no power. He attempted to get my car to stay on unassisted for at least the next 30 minutes with no luck and recommended I take it to my mechanic. Eric was diligent, patient and explained what he was able to find out about the car in detail. He also texted me a picture of the wires in what I believe was the fuse panel. I checked in with him again a few hours later, saying I was still waiting for AAA and he offered me water since it was a hot day. After all of the work he did, Eric didn't charge me a thing. My experience with him was a bright spot in an otherwise horrible day. Plus, he brought his dog to work with him for an added bonus! Thank you so much, Eric. read more

I contacted Custom Car Audio hoping they would be able to help with my not so straightforward project which involved fixing the wiring harness for my business vehicle that someone tampered with to steal it. Because of the damage done when they tried hot wiring it the vehicle wasn't drivable, it couldn't even start, and this put my business on hold. I spoke to Eric and he met me within an hour for a quote which, understandably so, said he wasn't 100% sure he could help but he was pretty confident he could. He just needed to inspect it a little longer and said he would on a different day when he was less busy, he said I'll have an update on Saturday. This was Wednesday 9/24 and by today Saturday 9/27 the vehicle is working again. It took him a couple hours to let me know he could fix it and fix it - after inspecting it further. The only way to know if a car stereo installer is truly good is to put him under the test, right? I have a 2001 BMW E38 and the stock Navigation system display died on me 6 month ago. There is an after-market Navigation system called Avin Avant4 which is made for my BMW E38 so I decided to give it a shot. After the unit arrived, there was no installation manual. The car stereo website only referred to couple YouTube video for the installation. The first time Eric finished the installation, there was an unmarked "IBUS" unit that still needs to be plugged into the back of the head unit, and the license plate light is disconnected because the new backup camera now takes its place, causing a warning light. After talking to Eric, he asked me to go back the next day and he installed the IBUS unit and also plugged in the license plate light and rewired it somewhere else. Then a day later, I realized there was a stock "DSP amp" that is now disconnected, but according to the YouTube video, it should be connected to the new cable. After talking to Eric, he asked me to go back the next day again. This time, he had to rip out the CD changer and the stock Navigation system in order to plug the new cable to the "DSP amp" and then put everything back. I really appreciate Eric's work especially he honored his own work and warranty. Thank you very much! Eric. Now I have CarPlay in my 2001 BMW. read more

This review is about work I had done here in 2016 but I never left a review. I am still delighted with the work done, so I wanted to come back here and say so. I brought Eric a bunch of 4AWG wire, 3 circuit breakers, an isolation switch, and a 100Amp Anderson connector, and a toggle switch and asked him to wire up my Sienna alternator so I can charge a camping battery that rides in the trunk of the Sienna, and have an on-off switch in the dash as well. He did it all, very tidy and secure, with all the breakers in good places, and with no drilling anywhere. It still works great. I have referred friends here who have been similarly impressed with his help and informative communications, including assessing my friend's new-car audio system and her needs and telling her she really did not need an upgrade. read more

There are a handful of custom car stereo shops in the valley, but only a couple of them can brag about a 5 star rating. I've actually had a conversation with the owner (Eric) a few months back, but I haven't had time to make an appointment for my install. From this initial conversation, I knew immediately that Eric was an expert in his craft. I asked him specific questions about my NAV enhancement install, and he was very knowledgeable. I called in last night to see if they could squeeze me in for this week, and luckily they had a slot open this morning at 10:00AM. I arrive at 9:55AM, and Pablo (Eric's right hand man/installer) walks out of the office to greet me. I explain the conversation I had with Eric, and he told me that Eric was running a little behind schedule. After looking at the instructions for the unit, Pablo gave me the option to wait for Eric, or to have him begin the install. I opted to have him start. The shop has a tiny office/waiting room, so I was able to get some work done while I was waiting. After about an hour, Eric walks into the waiting room, greets me and proceeds to complete the invoice. I didn't mention this in the beginning, but I called a few shops to get a feel for what the installation costs would be. With a 5 star rating coupled with the lowest bid, it was pretty much a no-brainer! Eric requested that I drive my car around for 15 minutes or so, to make sure my NAV was functioning normally, but more importantly with the newly added features. I drove off, tested everything, and inspected all the panels that were removed during the installation. Everything was perfect! Side note: The couch in the waiting area/office is probably the most uncomfortable couch I've ever sat on! Luckily this had no bearing on the type of work these guys do. :) Conclusion: I've already discussed my next project (another vehicle) with Eric. This is definitely my new go-to stereo shop!
