She was rude to the customer before me, then snapped at a young boy who came in to pick up an item for his mother, telling him she had "lost it" and to come back another time. When it was my turn, I put on my dress and she immediately refused to listen to me and my family about how the dress needed to be put on in order to be buttoned. She insisted she knew best, so we followed her instructions. When she couldn't get it buttoned, she looked at me and said word for word: "you must have gained 20 pounds since you last tried on this dress. I can't do anything to it. Your only option is to get a new dress or a bigger size." I cannot even describe the emotional turmoil that caused me. With only four months before my wedding, I panicked and purchased a bigger size dress. When it arrived, she then told me it was too big and refused to do any alterations on it to make it smaller. I won't go into the further weight related insults she said to me, because they are still extremely triggering, but I will say this: no one deserves to be body shamed ever and especially not while preparing for a wedding. This experience was one of the lowest points in my planning process. Thankfully, I found a wonderful seamstress in Wayland 2 weeks before my wedding, who treated me with kindness, made the dress fit perfectly, and gave me back the confidence I had lost. Please, if you are considering going here, do your research and look at the negative reviews she already has. I truly wish I had.
