So glad I found this place. Drove down from Northern N.Y. ( Adirondacks ) this past Feb/Mar to…read morevisit family and I Always make sure to get my car serviced before I leave because of the price gouging and dishonest repair suggestions that these dealerships in the area do to out of state and local elderly customers. Can't stand people or businesses that do this. Upon arriving from my 1,500 mile trip I noticed that I was having a lot of noise coming from the undercarriage of my vehicle. The kind of noise you can't ignore and need to get checked out. Reluctantly, I had to call the place I didn't want to call because of multiple past negative experiences. My vehicle is still somewhat under warranty ( that's the only reason I went back ) so I hoped that this time would be different and maybe there's a chance the problem might fall under warranty repair ( I rather focus on writing a well earned review for Curry Auto Repair than naming the place , I drive a Subaru ). Sure enough, $237.00 for silicone spray and a non answer to what the noise was. Still had my vehicle sounding like the undercarriage was gonna fall apart as I was driving away. Couple of weeks went by and the sound kept getting worse and now I was a week out from having to drive 1,500 back home to the Adirondacks ( still winter and snowing up here ). Started to scramble trying to find someone to take a look at my vehicle, not only to still try and diagnose the problem but also make sure that it's safe to drive. Enter Curry Auto Repair. Got referred to Curry from a neighbor of my Mom's through what they saw on Yelp reviews. Walked in at the end of the day and first met David and then Steve. I explained the situation I was in and they told me to come back in the morning and one of the technicians ( Mark ) would take a test drive with me and that after, they'd put it up on the lift and take a look. When I was waiting to take the test drive, I was able to witness David and Steve's interactions with customers who were picking up and dropping off their cars. Couldn't believe how involved David and Steve were in making sure that all their customers were taken care of while also handling the phones. They were reminding customers about coupons that they have to save a little on certain services as well as explaining in detail everything they had done while their car was in for service, great to see that. You can tell this place cares about reputation and its customers. Just so professional and kind. Went on the test drive and Mark was able to assess that the noise was a stabilizer link and that the rest of my vehicle was safe and would make it back. You know what Curry charged me ? Nothing. Couldn't believe it. It was only about a half hour of their time to help me diagnose the problem but still. I was a nobody walking into a place I've never been in and David, Steve and Mark treated me like a life long customer. I've since referred my Mom to this place and are also spreading the word to her neighbors. ( Thank you for helping her with the tires on her car ) Thank you so much for that. I made it back to the ADK's safe and sound. My car is currently at my dealership in Plattsburgh NY getting repaired. The problem is exactly what Mark said it was. * To anyone reading this. If you're looking to move on from Dealership dishonesty and price gouging, Please go checkout Curry Auto Repair. David,Steve and the awesome staff and knowledgeable technicians ( Again, thank you Mark. You know more about Subarus than Subaru does ) are here to help keep your vehicle running safe and sound and advise you with honesty. Curry Auto services all makes and models and is a family owned business since 1961, just another plus. Big thanks to the entire Team at Curry Automotive. Stay safe and Healthy -Franz

I brought my 2023 Freightliner here for a DPF after-treatment service. I was honestly a bit…read moreconcerned at first because DPF work can be complicated, and if it's not done right, it can turn into a bigger problem. I've had my fair share of bad repair experiences in the trucking industry, so I was cautious going in. From the start, the staff at Curry Diesel were calm, professional, and took the time to address all my concerns during check-in. The mechanics here clearly know what they're doing--the level of knowledge and organization is on par with what you'd expect from a dealership service center. They kept me updated throughout the process and explained both the issue and the repair steps in a way that made sense. After getting my truck back, I drove about 2,600 miles and even had another mechanic inspect the DPF. Everything checked out, confirming the job was done correctly and professionally. So I'll say it straight--this place is legit. No runaround, no guessing games. They diagnose the problem and fix it the right way. As an over-the-road trucker, that peace of mind means everything. Overall, they deliver dealership-level service at a more reasonable cost. The staff is polite and friendly, and the mechanics are highly skilled. You can tell they care more about doing the job right and earning a good reputation than just taking your money.

Cost was very reasonable - much less than the dealer quote. This year I returned to ask about a worrisome brake noise. He checked it out immediately and explained what was happening and how to deal with it. He declined any payment even though he spent about 45 minutes with me. Dave is a truly honest man and a great mechanic. His garage is my first choice for auto service.

I first went to Mavis and two young guys looked at the tire and said it could not be repaired; tire had to be replaced. What I found interesting was one of the two said "I see the screw causing the leak and it is definitely unrepairable." The irony was he wasn't even pointing to the sheetrock screw the other kid identified. So they gave me a price of $279 installed for a new tire... I left and remembered seeing this little garage listed on Yelp, "Dave's Garage" and that's where I headed. Dave was by himself today and some guy had an appointment so he politely said, pull the Buick in, the guy is a half hour late already. He took the tire off, repaired it and proceeded to tell me his stories. He has had quite a past. But he has been operating in Venice for 19 years. As he finished the repair and another story, he said $20 sir. I gave him $25 and said $20 for the repair and a small tip for entertaining me today. All I can say is this guy is the real deal; a throwback to my childhood 60+ years ago when I used to hang out at McWilliams Garage near my house. Honest, highly qualified, and full of life's stories. He's a great mechanic and a good person.

Since Jon's son took the reins it is a Shit shop he is rude and very disrespectful when calling the shop . My experience with their customer service is a zero.My advice would be John take your business back He's running it into the ground. I was once a very loyal customer for many many years and would be proud to say Jon's Auto was my go to NOT NO MORE. Value 0.
