I had gone to Ear Works in Syosset about three weeks ago met with the audiologist Olivia, who did…read moregive me a hearing test. She had quoted me a price for one of their better sets of hearing aids for $7300. I explained I had no idea that hearing aids cost so much and I had asked her face-to-face if I was going to find these a lot cheaper somewhere else, her direct answer was we are competitively priced with other audiologists in the area. I went to see another audiologist in the area and first submitted my hearing report that was done by Olivia. They concluded that her results were inaccurate, which I found difficult to believe so they had a second audiologist in the office do another test, and again did confirm that the ones from Olivia were an accurate, and they me a new accurate report. Her biggest concern seem to be if they were "real audiologist", how long was that warranty?, how many follow up visits were they going to allow me?, who wanted the name of the other audiologist, or the name of the company which I saw no reason to give to her for her own satisfaction only, I explained to her everything was exactly the same as her company was offering me. I wound up buying the same hearing aids. I was quoted at Ear Works from the new audiologist for $4500!. Their website states that there is no pressure from them to buy hearing aids yet they called me three times following up. I did not answer any of the calls. I decided to call them back, and I spoke to Olivia, and I explained everything in this review to her, including the inaccurate results, and that she had told me that they were very competitive, and I paid almost half of what she quoted me for the same hearing aids, and told her that I would continue my business with the new audiologist and she didn't need to call me any longer. That was literally the day before I'm writing this review. Today I came home and in the mail I see that she submitted $185 bill to my insurance company for services not described other than the CPT code but I imagine they were for the hearing test, which I assumed I was not being charged for. But I'll deal with that later I wanted to put this review out there warning other people that Ear Works has many locations and people should definitely do their research before they commit to a place like Ear Works audiology, particularly the one in Syosset.

We had a great experience, I recommend this Dr to all adults and I specially recommend this place if you have a special need child, you will be treated with care and respect here. Can't forget the front desk Elizabeth, welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel at ease.

I went to the HEAR USA office in Carle Place after the warranty expired on my hearing aids to…read morereplace both of my receivers (the parts that go inside the ear canal). Since they only require a simple operation to remove and replace, I just wanted to purchase them for $100.00 each. They plug into the main unit, so, anyone can do it. They refused to sell them to me and insisted that they perform the repair. I initially agreed to an additional $60.00 charge to perform the service and I left the hearing aids there. The next morning I received a call from the office that the charge would be an astounding $390.00. They said that the extra charge was a service charge ($65.00 per aid) and, if I wanted them repaired would I be willing to pay that amount. I had no choice because I needed them repaired, so I reluctantly agreed. When I picked up my aids, I complained about the cost and i was told that, in addition to changing out the receivers, they had to do a performance check (not their exact words). Shortly afterwards, I called their corporate offices and, although the customer service agent was advocating for some kind of refund, her boss denied any relief. When they contacted the Carle Place office, the office denied doing anything other than changing the receivers and nothing else. Why then was I charged for the additional service charge. Someone was lying. HQ finally agreed to sell me the receivers at retail price and allow me to replace them myself in the future should I ever have to do it again. That will probably never happen since I am getting new hearing aids from another company with good and honest customer service. I highly DISCOURAGE anyone from getting their hearing aids from HEAR USA!
