I went to them to have my Volvo belts repaired I paid for the tow to get it there I paid for the tow to get it picked up and when I went to pick it up they told me that it was not ready and they couldn't start it... I called a tow car truck and sent them to pick it up and they refused to give me my vehicle telling me that I needed to purchase a battery from them and pay $149 for more diagnostics and the installation of the battery... Since I had clearly told them I did not want the battery and have text messages to the same I explained to them that I wanted them to release my car to the tow truck which they refused... They threatened to add additional charges of a month storage and additional fees for diagnostics and Nonsense and I told them I wanted them to remove their batteries since I had never told them to put it in and give the vehicle to the tow truck which they refused... I then told them that I would be calling the police for theft of the vehicle and the Better Business Bureau because what they were doing was stealing my car and blackmailing me... I am hoping that they will reconsider but I think that they see me as a female that they can lie and overcharge and unfortunately I have documentation to the contrary and I will be seeing them in court... They have a limited time to fix this problem because I feel three days is plenty and if they want to charge me all these additional fees so that they can get my car from me and sell it then they will have to fight me for it... read more

I do not recommend this shop. My fiancé was charged for a service that was never performed. He paid in advance expecting the work to be done within a reasonable time, but a week and a half went by with no progress. My fiancé tried following up, but the owner Chris responses were inconsistent & kept telling him "come this day", "check back that day" with an unprofessional attitude. They don't know how to properly communicate with customers or take accountability. It's unacceptable to take someone's money without delivering the service as promised and when asked for a refund for labor that wasn't done he was denied. A quick glance at how they respond to negative reviews says it all -- there's a clear lack of respect and value for all customers. I trusted this place with my JDM Subaru which I had imported to the US from Japan. I'm trying to make this car really nice. I wanted to take it to car shows both to show off the car and the craftsmanship of the companies that worked on it. In this regard I purchased $2,000 Bilstein coil overs and $800 Cusco camber plates. I chose CIP to do the install cause they are members of my car club. At first I was totally happy to have the suspension on the car but when I got home I saw that the tech who installed the camber plates damaged 3 of them. On one it's clearly visible that a metal hammer was used to hit the steel section of pillow ball mount perhaps while adjusting the alignment. On the others there are gashes in the aluminum plates. I know aluminum is soft and is easily damaged but shouldn't the tech working on the car also know that and be extra careful? This put me in an awkward position. Complain or not? I was prepared to let it slide until something happened to my car. This past week while driving I hit a medium sized pot hole and my rear caliper swung up and destroyed itself against the inside of my wheel. CIP DID NOT install the brakes on my car. Let me repeat that. CIP DID NOT INSTALL THE BRAKES ON MY CAR!!!! They did however install stainless steel brake lines. As it turns out the bolt that holds the caliper to the hub was completely missing. I walked up and down the road where this happened and could not find it anywhere. So in the less than 3,000 miles from their installation the bolt came loose and fell out. I thank god that no one was injured by what had happened and again do not blame CIP for the incident. I only bring it up because I trusted the person who installed the brakes like I trusted CIP to do quality work installing my suspension. Now that faith and trust I had is shook and I will have a very hard time ever trusting another place again. People might say, "but Eric why not take it back and have them make it right?" The only way CIP would be able to make it right is to replace the Cusco camber plates and I seriously doubt they'll do that. Either way they aren't touching my car again. read more

First off let me start by saying the mechanic is great. However the gentleman named Joe that helps run the office is a con. I called them because I was having issues with my transmission and they were in the network of my warranty company. The gentleman quoted me one price I paid for it over the phone. Once they completed the job I went in to pick up my vehicle and it was a lot more than what he quoted me but no one told me that before I picked up my vehicle I then spoke to the owner and told him exactly what his employee told me the owner basically called me a liar and when I said can you just pull the videos to prove the conversation we had the owner started screaming at me and demanded that I leave his office. Sadly it ended with the police being called however I received my keys and was able to leave with my vehicle once the police arrived. The owner and office staff very unprofessional and true con artists they are in it to keep your vehicle and make it unaffordable. The mechanic I would highly recommend as long as you don't have to go through the company and I would have given zero Stars if the system allowed.. read more

I've used CIP a couple times mostly since they are local. Unfortunately this is the second time they've failed my vehicles and included something with the rear sway bar links. Any other garage I've gone to won't fail for this. Secondly they quoted me for roughly $1100 in repairs stating my rotors wouldn't pass. I took my car to KOST and it passed flying colors. While I was there to pick up my car, one of the reps (Chris) was on the phone swearing about another customer and used foul language in front of me and another customer. Im sorry but you run a business and should be better equipped to handle angry customers whether you were in the right or wrong. While I've never had an issue with the work they've done I likely won't be going back. Sorry guys. read more

I went to CIP a couple of years ago to install a receiver. While there I asked if my brakes could be checked because the dealership told me that they needed to be replaced for $900+ . They could of easily said yes they needed replacement at a lower price, but they told me that the brakes were still good, which showed me their honesty. So I returned when needing new tires. They replaced my tires in a short time. I set up an appointment for this coming Saturday, but they told me that I could come after work around 300pm. I was excited not to spend a chunk of my Saturday at the shop. Now that I found out that they do maintenance oil changes, I will be calling them to schedule. read more

This is the first time I've ever been to Custom Import Performance. I called the night before to see if they could fit me in for a cat-back exhaust install the next day. They squeezed me in at 1PM and told me I might have to wait a bit longer and that it would be $80-100 for an hour to an hour and a half. Great communication already. When I got there around 12:55, I was greeted by the manager Chris to check in. I waited for about 45 minutes, and then they started to get to work. Nate installed my cat-back exhaust in about 20 minutes and the service was very quick. The other mechanic Anthony took apart my OEM exhaust from my Scion tC 2014 so I could take it home. Service was very quick and I was out of the door with my new installed exhaust within 30 minutes after waiting and installation. Ultimately, besides the waiting, the experience was great and I would definitely come here again for a service on my car. They do all types of work and inspection as well. Thanks C.I.P. I have left my car, in a good driving condition in this garage a repair. When I received my car back, it almost did not run ( RPM about 3-4K), speedometer was on "0", milage counter and car computer was dead, cabin lights were permanently on and wiper did not work. Having car emergency lights on, car barely moved, when driving. I called Chris, the owner, stating my car is NOT in a drivable condition and he said to bring it back, they would fix it. Next day (afternoon), when I picked my car, it was in the very same condition as the day before and I had to bring it to another garage to fix it. As a decent person she simply treated you nicely as she asked repeatedly how it could take so long when we have tires mounted ALL OVER THE COUNTRY over the past forty years and it never took more than 45 minutes. She simply kept thinking it had to be done soon while you worked on subsequent customers's cars The fact that you argue at length with each of your customers when they post a legitimate criticism says all there is to say, but we are two people who grew up in tight working class community and have since worked in public service in order to provide for the public good. I made a Saturday appointment for a PA State inspection, on an older vehicle that I had recently purchased. The day of the appointment it was starting to snow pretty heavy and when I walked in, the person behind the counter immediately mentioned that one of their mechanics was not able to come in and it may be a little longer than expected. I told him it was fine (could happen at any shop, store, etc...) When they went to bring the vehicle into the shop, it wouldn't start and needed a jump start. They mentioned this, after they jumped it and were about to bring it in. Once it was inside, another person had come up to us and told us the possible issues and they would check it out. I know enough about vehicles to know what the basic issues could have been. Right before the inspection was finished, they told me that it was almost done and that everything checked out OK with the battery, connections and alternator. Next they asked me and my son if we wanted to check it out while it was still on the lift, because it was a recent purchase and we never got a good look at the underneath. They also showed us things that were OK now, but would probably need to be replaced or repaired before the next inspection. Several times while waiting, Chris apologized for the wait. Just before the bill was ready, Chris came up to us and we discussed the battery issue. I told him he just got a New Customer, because I know he could have sold me at a minimum a battery and possibly an alternator - especially when I was at their mercy in a snow storm and would have had to buy one. Everyone I dealt with reminded me of how I was raised and taught when I was working in shops. The customers We used to have were the type to "do whatever it needs" because we never tried to sell anything that wasn't needed at that time and knew they would be back anyway to get it done when it was really needed. Everyone at CIP was honest, professional, informative and a pleasure to deal with and talk to. I am usually a good judge of character and honestly do not believe any of those negative reviews. Some people just aren't happy unless they are complaining. CIP has a new customer, especially since they are open on Saturdays, which is the only day I can really be available. In addition, I bought a remote car starter and installation for my daughter a little over a year ago, and they installed it after that Christmas and it was installed without issue and she loves it. read more

The majority of people that gives this place good reviews are the owners friends. That is very obvious. The owner is very greedy and that will come back to bite him. I had to file a complaint with the BBB regarding this place. Hey Chris you know you did me wrong but it is ok i forgive you. Your low vibration and greed will come back to visit you soon. All in all i do not recommend this place at all. At least it would be somewhat alright if they ripped you off but still did the job right but these guys can barely put on a tire without forgetting to screw in all the lug nuts. If you need work done to your car. There are few other mechanic shops just minutes away that I am sure are better then this place with his fake reviews. You don't even deserve 1 star. I truly did not appreciate that decisions were made about my vehicle without anyone consulting with me. I also didn't appreciate that no one went over what was done to my vehicle when I picked it up. I felt misled, believing that what I want was told would be done was what I paid for. Then I found out that not everything I had agreed to at a quoted specific price had been done after the fact. I love C.I.P!!! Besides the dealership that I purchased my car from, C.I.P is the ONLY shop l that I allow to work on my car. One Winter I through my shovel in my back seat (Yes I know poor decision‍) and ripped my leather, I took it to CIP ! Then I ended up smashing my driver side mirror off from backing up into a narrow driveway & I took it to C.I.P. I think you guys get the point lol. I just recently had my brakes installed, wheel alignment, two tires put on with rotation and C.I.P quoted me $70 cheaper than the dealer. The response given to my post is inaccurate! The first option was never given to me, and it was never discussed! The options were: 1. to put a temporary rubber valve stem, IF the part could not be obtained locally, and would have to be ordered! 2. If the part could be obtained, then I would wait at the shop until the part was delivered so it could be installed, and I would not have to return! He gave me a "ball park" figure of $85/$95 for the part because he DID NOT KNOW THE COST! I, of course, had no idea of what the part would cost, but trusted the shop to do the honest thing, which they DID NOT! Yesterday was my first time using this shop. I came for a inspection sticker without a appointment. They honored the $6 special and didn't try to upsell my or have me do any work to my car. The owner was curious, told me it would be at least an hour and offered to make an appointment. I chose to wait. The waiting room was comfortable and the free WiFi kept to ocupide. When I got my car back in addition to the paper floor map they had placed plastic over over the seat and on the rear view mirror was a free air fresher. Chris and his crew are very courteous and knowledgeable. I needed the exhaust on my Lexus repaired and did not want to pay $1000 for a new midpipe from the dealer only to repair an inch long crack. Made an appt for the next day and they got started immediately upon arrival. The guys at CIP explained the repair and gave me a couple of options. In the end, the exhaust was repaired with a very professional weld job and the repair was painted to prevent future rusting. The plastic seat cover and paper floor mat in addition to the air freshener are a great touch that is missing from many repair facilities.
