I could not be any happier. I had a breakdown on the highway late last night. We found them via an add on Craigslist. They told us they would get to us first thing in the morning. They found multiple problems, I needed a wheel bearing replaced and 2 bolts backed out of a caliper. I just want say how amazing these people are. JR is an absolute Angel literally such an empathic good person. My mom and I went on vacation and our transmission blew ( we were sure at the time because we were still driving it) while out in PA. We had no one. To make matters a bit worse my moms in a wheelchair and is disabled . We went to several auto mechanics in the area of east Stroudsburg they all didn't care.. not one . just to give us even a couple seconds of their time they didn't want to be bothered. I randomly found Pocono Tire & Brake and called . JR picked up with so much urgency to help us. He said come right in! In a matter of 20 mins he had someone check the car test drive it and gave us a whole break down of the transmission issue. it was the worse thing we could hear but it was honest and somehow being let down and told the way JR did was still okay. Whatever you do, Don't Go Here for inspections! I took my car in for a state inspection and they spent all morning looking for every possible thing wrong with the car. By the time they were done the repair work was more than the value of the car plus I had to pay $150 service fee. I declined their service and went to another mechanic downtown right across from the post office. Where they stated there were only 3 minor things that had to be fixed to pass. I went to this place 2 years and they sold me a new transmission (I wonder now if I really needed it)!! A couple of months ago,, I was told my car needed a new ENGINE. They found a USED engine with 70K miles on it and wanted to charge me $3500. I was literally hours away from doing it!! I went to get a 2nd opinion from a place I've never been to. Well, I learned I DID NOT have a blown head gasket and the only repair was a simple $489. This man saved me $3000. This OTHER Auto service since then saved me another $2000 after checking out a car I was buying for my daughter. The owner of Pocono Tires and Brakes seems like a genuinely nice guy and while I don't think there was I'll intent I definitely believe there was rush to judgement. They did no testing to validate a blown head gasket, so I blame the inexperienced mechanic. Again, I want to reiterate I don't believe there was malicious intent only an extremely EXPENSIVE OVERSIGHT. I'm a caregiver and $3500 is a few months and alot of shifts!! My truck had a flat tire and AAA towed it to this business. The truck had been in my driveway. I put an aftermarket valve cap on the tire the night before and told the business it might just need air because the valve cap could have failed. They sent me a text to approve charges for $1700.00. They wouldn't look at the truck until I consented to the charges. I spoke with Mark the mgr. who was rude and very disrespectful when talking to me. I got the feeling I was being railroaded and I was. Make a long story short, I had my truck towed to Cliffside Automotive. They checked the tire and all it needed was air in it. The aftermarket valve cap failed. I have an out of state license plate, I'm a woman with a pretty nice truck and Mark was trying to take total advantage of me. I went in for an inspection, and "JR" came back with a list of phony car problems that had to be fixed to pass inspection. These guys get your car on the lift and try to hold you hostage while they make up imaginary mechanical problems that they can fix for 800., 1200, dollars. This guy isn't afraid to dream big so watch out. He is relentless, and will swear up and down while he lies to you with a smile on his face. Wife went to this establishment last week and got new wipers on the car. We just moved to the area and I needed an inspection for registering her car. The mechanic comes back with a list full of "issues" wrong with a 2019 Ford Explorer. My brakes which just got done a month ago we're "on their last lives, but ok enough probably for the year, but should get taken care of immediately." The left light on my license plate (the right one still works and the bottom light still work) was "too unsafe to be driven at night and any cop seeing a license plate not FULLY LAMINATE in light is a $440 fine" He thought because I was from another state I was stupid. He came back with "issues" that need to be fixed that costed $2700. Oh yea, he said I needed new wiper which we just got last week from this place. The whole process was 2 hours and that was them "checking my car for issues". They couldn't even put my license plate on. Didn't have the "tools" for it. read more

Definitely the cleanest shop around. They take pride in their showroom and in their customers cars, so by default it makes it easier for you to trust them with your vehicle. Their new system they implemented turns the trust up a notch; you get pictures and videos of what's wrong with your vehicle, along with with what needs immediate attention vs what can wait a little. We were just starting out a 400-mile drive when the tire pressure light came on -- turns out we had a nail in our tire. We couldn't have asked for better, friendlier, or more efficient service than we received here. They took our car right away, applied a patch to the tire, and we were on our way within 20 minutes. It's worth noting that we were a family on vacation -- six of us piled into the waiting room, which was clean and comfortable, including he restroom. In this situation, you're always worried about being taken advantage of. Nothing of the sort here. The charge was $15. There was a coupon on Yelp but no way was I going to redeem a coupon given the quality of service we received. The staff is always friendly, they explain things to you and I have never once felt taken advantage of. I have never been to a place that passed on an opportunity to "up sell" you something you don't need. They are the worst they are in educated in the automotive field. They frequently have to YOU TUBE HOW TO FIX A CAR. They have such low grade to customer care.. there is never just one person to work in a car here there is such a high turn over rate , of uneducated mechanic's. The owner has absolutely No knowledge of how to fix a car. A car was given to them to fix n tools over 5 mo this and 4 mechanics to fix when given back to owner the car died not even a month n a half later. It was not a defaulted part it was the fact that no one knew what they were doing . The car was given back with out the proper lubricant amount out in the car. Getting car towed out of middle of road they try to say another person touch car. When wtf was they to do leave car n middle of road or tow it to nearest station. Well it's now 3 months later n the car is still there AND NO INE HAS TOUCHED IT YET. The person has 3 children and has a 7 seated suv. NO LOANER CAR WAS EVER OFFERED TO HER , haveing a persons car for a long time you should have a loner car well from a SUV to. VW GOLF , how do you do fit 2 car seats and a infant rear facing seat n a gulf , and the catalytic converter needed repair so it kept stalling out . Worst customer service I ever experienced. My car sat in shop for 2 weeks and no work was done and charged $400 for "labor" to get it out and towed to another shop. They claimed my car would be ready multiple times over the course of 2 weeks and didn't even replace sensors as I requested. Save your money and time by going somewhere else in the area. I had high hopes of getting the sensors replaced at least but no, nothing was done except scanned for codes. read more

The guys at Pocono Tire & Brake have been 100% friendly, respectful and fair. They talk me through my car trouble in an unhurried way, diagnose the issue to make sure the work I've scheduled is necessary, and complete repairs within the timeframe and price range discussed. Their work is effective and reasonably priced--the last couple times my bill has actually been less than the original quote. I get to patronize a local, family-owned small business *and* pay competitive prices without anyone trying to upsell. Thank these guys for being awesome by booking maintenance here (prices are comparable to big chains, and they won't damage your vehicle or recommend unnecessary work) and paying cash (processing fees hit small businesses hardest).
