Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this shop. We went down to J M Marine in the first week of July, waited a month for an appointment to bring it in on 8/9. We asked for our steering wheel to be straightened, speedo fixed, leak checked, Bimini top hardware replaced, tower gaskets replaced and a few other cosmetic things done to the boat. After waiting for a month, we were told they already ordered the parts to repair our boat as asked. Turns out that wasn't true. All they were worried about was adding a dripless system to get their labor, fine. We approved it, but they installed the wrong size, so they uninstalled and reinstalled our old broken housing. Nothing else we asked for was done. They sent us off with our boat not even strapped to the trailer, they had the anchor on our upholstery totally careless. When we met the owner Art, he told us they call him work of art... what a joke. More like piece of work. These people do not care, they do not communicate, they took 6 weeks of our summer to accomplish absolutely nothing. Charged us for the steering and Speedo... the steering cable is in the middle of the boat where the skis go and it wasn't there before, and the Speedo still doesn't work. My 2001 Centurion needed an oil change for the season and possibly an impeller replacement as we overheated while still in the 5 mph zone the last time we took the boat out. I live and work in the BAY area and we keep the boat stored in proximity to J&M Boatworks, so I decided to give them a try . I was met by Art and we discussed my boat issues and I also was shown the shop area were boats were being detailed by his crew. The boats I saw that were finished were in Primo condition, they finish was probably better than new, looking forward to having my boat detailed and reupholstered as soon as I can find a time when we're not using the boat. Art and crew changed the impeller, oil and filter, fuel filter, checked the plugs and wires and also caught a broken weld on my trailer which they wew able to weld back together after calling me for approval. All in all , the crew there takes extreme pride in their work and looks over the boat to make sure you stay on the water and not back in the shop. Got the boat back on schedule so we could use it for a planned weekend on the lake with the family. Thanks Art, Bianca and crew! read more

We took our boat out on Saturday morning and immediately realized something was wrong. All the employees at Don Pedro recommended this place. We called and they told us to bring it right in. They said they don't take apts on Saturday so they can accommodate weekend boaters and get them back out on the lake. They spent hours trying to figure out the issue but needed to call the manufacturer and that want possible on a holiday weekend. They charged us nothing. We were shocked and SO grateful for all of their efforts. I can't say enough positive things! read more

I delivered my Mastercraft to the facility in EARLY APRIL 2022 for the purpose of correcting the massive water that always builds in the bilge after a short time of running(one hour or greater). After a month I called about the progress and was told they had not checked it yet. This is considered their "OFF SEASON" when they have time to perform these jobs. They were then prompted to take it out and test it on the lake next to the facility. I brought the boat to them specifically because they are next to a lake to test, as the problem I have will not manifest itself unless the boat in maneuvered in a sporting manner in a lake. They did so and could not find any water in the bilge. I then related to them that they must drive the boat as it they were engaged in sporting activities like skiing, boarding or surfing. They then found that there was water in the bilge in excess. The recommendation was then to replace the hoses/pumps for the ballasts/shower. This was done and I asked that they run it again in the lake to assure this solved the problem. The said they did and I picked the boat up and took it immediately to the adjacent McClure lake where I found that there was ABSOLUTELY NO REDUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF WATER IN THE BILGE. STILL TOO MUCH WATER AND ALMOST CONSTANT BILGE PUMP ACTION. I then called and told them of this. They said that I needed to have the engine lifted for access to a part that needed replacement. I asked why they hadn't told me this before and done this already. They told me that they only correct these issue during the "OFF SEASON." This period ends in May per the personnel at the facility. So they were unable to fix the boat now. So in summary. They had the boat first week of April and they convinced me to replace the hoses and pumps associated with the ballasts/shower for about $1000.00 in June/July ( 2-3 MONTHS IN THEIR SHOP!!!!!). This did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DECREASE THE BILGE WATER ACCUMULATION. And now they recommend another $1000 to lift the engine to replace the "necessary" part, but cannot get to it til the next "OFF SEASON." A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME ENERGY AND MONEY! They are pleasant but poor business operators and questionable boat mechanics. I can only recommend them for minor "no brainer" simple procedures, as they cannot handle anything requiring diagnostic skills, complete tasks in a timely manner or communicate amongst themselves or the customer. Huge fan of these guys. They just saved my boating weekend by agreeing to replace an impeller when I called them at 2pm on a Saturday. Super nice guys, very accommodating, and clearly very good at what they do. I have a ton of experience with vehicle shops due to my amateur auto racing background and you can always tell when a shop has its shizznit together. These guys do. Two thumbs up. read more

I wish I could give Wayne and Art more stars - they literally saved my houseboat trip last week. On night one of a 7 night trip my boat began taking on water.....
