windows and garbage left at the end of drive way 1.5 weeks

I normally do not allow door to door salesman to give me quotes. I chatted and decided why not it might be something for me. The salesman came, gave me so many accolades about the company: family owned, small, showed pictures of the three family members that owned the company. Sales man told me from this point on I was HIS customer and I should only contact him. Windows were order and was told it would be 4-6 months but being that the order was for white it could be less. 2.5 months later I get a call from the company to set up installation. No contact from the sales man. Chose the date and was ready. Installers arrive 8:01 am on the day of installation. No windows in hand, nothing had been delivered. In the attempt to communicate it was indicated that these two had to go pick up the windows at the warehouse. 2.5 hours later they arrive back with the 5 windows and get to work. All seemed well, I was out of the way keeping my dogs out of their way. I notice the one picture window was not exactly what I ordered but actually liked this one a bit better. Then installers leave, the old windows were at the end of the driveway and I was told that they would be back tomorrow. (was that for the garbage, was that for something else? I did not know). I called the company and said I was told they would be back tomorrow and the gal told me that another crew comes and wraps the windows because that takes double the time to do that work. Ok, I then expected someone to arrive the next day. Well that came and went and the week came and went. One week later on the Monday I called to find out what the status was. Clueless, they did not know it had to be checked. Still all the old windows are at the end of the driveway. Tuesday, a couple of people show up to wrap the windows. They take out their equipment to cut and fit for the size of each window. No tarp, just working on my driveway. I return home a little after 2pm and they were packing up to leave. I pulled into my driveway thinking all was good. I looked at the windows and noticed that they only completed 3 of the 5 windows. How does this happen?? Are there not work orders??? So called the company. They again had no clue. Also, as I walked around I was finding all kinds of metal scraps around the driveway and yard. I picked up what I saw at the moment. The following morning I am preparing to leave and notice where I had parked my vehicle in the driveway there was a lot of metal strips around the car and under the car. As I looked under the car I notice that my drivers tire had a piece of metal in the inside wall of the tire. Immediately drive to my service station to see if it was repairable. NOPE. Need a new tire. I was not a happy camper. I then needed to find a way to work. I called the company had to leave a message. Still no idea when work would be completed. Late afternoon someone pulls into my driveway. This guy checked around and indicated that someone would be back the next day. The only thing the company said at the time was Sorry, we are short staffed lately. Early the next morning one guy shows up to work on the windows, at the same time I get a text from the company saying that they don't know if they can do the work since a storm is coming in and it might be another week or so before they get to it I said that someone was already there, I was asked to tell the individual to leave because CRI would be handling it from here on out. That individual did not leave, would not leave said he was told to be there. The company then sends someone else out to "supervise". Windows complete - more mess. Inspector arrives completes the look around asks for permit. Permit? Is there one? Well a few weeks later I get a bill. I call and ask to speak to someone in billing. I was asked why? A bill! Left a detail message about not being happy with the bill: The window I ordered was not the one I received and knew there should be a price difference, that I had to clean up, that my tire was no good after finding metal in it. No return call, a week later a call asking if my check was in the mail. I called back stated my case and was told that the tire could have been plugged, that he could send someone over to clean up (it has not been more than a month) and was not willing to budge other than the difference in window price. I was not happy, and stated that. I was told I could pay the bill that he would be sending me or he would put a lien on my house. WOW! now threatening me. Not willing to listen and then threatening liens. Well I decided to file with the BBB and The Department of Labor and Industry. Had all the facts, pictures and evidence showing the mess that was left, my tire bill and what I thought was fair price. Suddenly, this guy is now willing to talk. I was able to reduce my cost subtracting my time, tire, and clean up. Something that could have been done as good customer service.

Hucksters. Extremely outrageous initial price followed by a 50% discount for anything. Dishonest statements regarding building codes.

Pushy stale sales culture. Driven by money and the bottom line. Not service nor customer oriented.

HOPING FOR BETTER, EXPENSIVE PROMISES I am mixed about this…read more I had hoped to have it resolved by now, but since it isn't, posting a bad review. Lots of promises, not so much follow through for a very expensive (nearly $20K) project. 1) Ground and sealed steps (never done, promised but not written in job order for subcontractor). Nicely restored landscape (still have rocky areas, half-buried drain tube, and had to replace own brickwork pulled up by cement layers). And most importantly, warrantied/guaranteed work??!! 2) After much calling, emailing and stern letter to Mr. Piette, subcontractor came back out (no notice, suddenly people ripping up part of driveway), to add drainage that should have been installed on the front end (winter and spring were long, wet and slippery...). Drain is working great, although cement looks a little odd with all the different cuts. 3) Half of the area has excessive cracking and chunks coming out after only about 6 months. First response - cracking is normal. Second response - you have clay soil, and it must be settling (really, didn't you adjust for that?). Third response (came out and looked at driveway, took pictures, etc.) - you're right, this isn't acceptable level of breakage, must be a bad batch of cement. But yet here we are, months later, with no attempt to replace this purported bad batch of cement. 4) Discoloration and peeling of polyurethane coating added in garage. Despite contact from us and subcontractor, no action or response to complaint. 5) Most recently we sent a registered letter, since response to an earlier letter (unregistered) was only partial, late, and seemingly grudgingly given. Mr. Piette refused to claim the registered letter, and it got sent back. So now we start complaining in public, and send the letter back regular mail and via email. We still hope toget a response to our complaints? Yes, benefit of the doubt for what claims to be veteran friendly (I have 23 years of service and am still in) and has very nice salesman (perhaps beware the salesman who can talk you into spending $5K more than you wanted, and then doesn't follow through on delivery?). We're now many months down the road from first raising concerns, and have not had most of our concerns addressed. Very disturbing.
