This incredible shop is still open in Ftn. City and still fixing shoes, purses, and any number of things along those lines that need repair. My son bought a brand new Naugahyde-like cover for his car rooftop carrier. It split along several seams the first time he used making a trip to Knoxville last year. He lived in Knoxville until his college years so he knew just who might be able to repair it. Not only did they repair the splits, they reinforced them on the inside. And for an extremely reasonable price, especially in this day and age. If you have shoes, boots, purses- just about anything along these lines that requires expert work- I cannot recommend this little shop strongly enough. Asked for boot repair on bottom soles, 8 months go by with no word. I remember they have my boots and go to pick them up (ready or not) the boots were repaired but the price was almost triple what I was quoted and they were not fully repaired because the forgot to replace the insoles of the boots. So 8 months and 130$ later, it would be my advice to just go buy new shoes instead of this service. read more

They replaced a leather strap that my puppy chewed off of my favorite pair of heels. I almost threw the shoes away but held on to them and the strap buckle for about a year before I found these guys. They were able to sew on a matching strap and I cannot remember which side was chewed off, great job, and cheap! They saved me a ton of money. They also replaced the heel caps on another pair of shoes and they are like new, also cheap. Father and son place, they were both there and both very nice. I had two pairs of work boots resoled for less than the price of a single new pair. I need chemical/slip resistant soles for work and they have the materials for that which is fantastic. So far I've been wearing the same pair for a few months now and the soles aren't falling apart or coming loose and I couldn't be happier. This place is a hidden gem in Fountain City! I had a pair of leather boots I loved, but wished they were black, so I called custom Shoe Rebuilders to see if they dyed leather and they do! I also have taken in a pair of boots that I loved that had the heel worn down on them. The owners are precious and seem to be a father son owned company. These prices are reminiscent of 20 years ago, so I can't complain about that! It is a dive of a shoe repair business but they get the job done and the owners are incredible nice! thought I would give this place a try. I needed some leather replaced on an old belt of mine. The owner did not do the work but a helper of his did. He did not do a very good job. The leather piece he cut to replace my old leather was cut crooked. But I will give them another try but I will ask if the owner is going to do the work or his helper.
