He showed up the same day, got his guys out there three days later. The quality of the installation cannot be overstated. Guys who truly care about the quality of their workmanship. I have a masonry fireplace and was resigned to having it undercut, but the installers went out of their way to manage it so they didn't have to. My only regret is that I didn't tip his guys MORE. THIS IS THE TEAM YOU WANT TO DO YOUR FLOORS. Prices are great too. But let me tell you, after MONTHS of dealing with other contractors- they'd be worth it at a much higher price.

No other handyman bothered to respond except Bernie as the repair had to be done from under the house via the crawlspace. Bernie came and gave a detailed estimate and also went under the house into the crawlspace and took pictures and measurements. We scheduled the job and Bernie came exactly on time and made the repair with no complaining about the fact that working in a crawlspace is pretty hard to do and makes the job much more difficult. They arrived each day on time, always professional in their work and considerate of my space as I was home during this entire project.  Each work day ended with a clean up of the project area.  Ryan kept me in the loop every step of the way, calling and stopping by to check the progress. We needed 3 bedroom ceiling fans replaced, a vent cover reattached and the new installation of a bathroom ceiling light fixture. In replacing one of the ceiling fans, Matt discovered that the original fan had been hung without the appropriate bracing -- so he went out, got the bracing and hung it right! Likewise, on the install of the light fixture, the new fixture 'kit' didn't come with a ceiling plate, so Matt, once again, headed out to get the missing elements to make sure the install was done properly. He also returned twice to ensure the drywall repair in the bathroom was perfect. He does this work on the side so you need to be flexible about scheduling.

After getting…read morea quote from a local competitor, we decided on Floor Masters because they were cheaper after including a Duke 10% discount that Marcus alerted us to. We appreciated the promptness of measuring our kitchen and providing a quote. Unfortunately, after paying the first half as a down payment, there were delays in the shipment of materials that pushed the installment back 11 days. We felt that Marcus' communication during this time could have been better, particularly since it left us without a stove for over 2 weeks. The final product (pictured below) looked good overall, but we were disappointed in a couple of the decisions with quarter rounds that looked funky. Marcus did get someone out to fix it within 24 hours. The final charge wasn't what he initially quoted, but that was remedied with a few emails. Overall, Marcus' communication was not what we were hoping for, and we likely won't be going back to Floor Masters.
