They…read moredidn't remove old caulking before applying the new one, and the glaze itself had 3 issues with it: some weird black spots, a section where the glaze dripped down and had hardened, and an exposed part of the tub that wasn't patched correctly. Also, the technician didn't speak English that well, so it was very difficult to communicate with him. The owner reached out to me and wanted to make it right. I wasn't expecting this since usually companies will just take your money and disappear but apparently if you just tell this company about it, they'll try to make it right. I took a few weeks to do a back and forth with them about the work that would be done, and they were very polite and professional throughout the whole thing. The front office was awesome with scheduling and answering questions. The same technician was assigned to the fixes, but I requested a different technician be assigned and they obliged. The new tech did a good job, and I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. There was some overspray again, but not a huge deal as the black spots and the exposed part of the tub were properly addressed. I found out that one of the issues I originally had (the black spots) were caused by my shower leaking and water dropped onto the glaze as it was drying. Seems like the first tech didn't put a cover over my shower head, but this new tech did. He also spoke English better than the other tech, so no translation app was needed. During this second fix-up visit, the owner himself came on-site to make sure everything was done correctly. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work that was done. It seems even if they do mess up, they'll eventually fix it. If the second tech was the one who did the work first, this would be a 5* review.

While he said he could try to do it himself, he suggested a professional tile cleaner would do a better job, and he knew just that person. In barely 15 minutes, Eran was at my door! My tiles, which were fairly new, have a natural glaze and do not require sealant. Yet, on numerous occasions, different cleaning people and even my handyman decided that sealant would make it shine more. Maybe so, for the first few weeks, but once the shine wore off, there were embedded scuff marks and ground in dirt that were impossible to ignore, let alone clean! Adding more sealant to an existing mess just made it worse. I was desperate enough to replace the "offending" tiles, but it would cost more than the initial job when so many tiles were affected. Long story short, Eran and his vast team came in and attacked the problem at once, spending painstaking hours stripping my *entire* floor of layers of gunk, leaving it looking almost as good as it did the day it was first installed. However, we were tired of the wooden color and wanted something more modern and more fun. I know how much new cabinets cost and I know how hard painting over laminate correctly is. Thank god that we found C&D Refinishings. After texting pics of the kitchen and deciding on a budget with them on the phone, they met with us at our house and were quick to cover the basics of the complicated paint job. The doors and facings were removed and taken with them to paint in their studio. While that left us with an open-faced kitchen a little longer than I wanted, the task of sanding, priming, painting and surfacing is complex and should be respected... as well as the work load of a private owned business of two. The impact of painting the actual kitchen was faster but no less arduous. Every surface of the kitchen not painted had to be covered. That's 98% of the kitchen. Along with that was a plastic "bubble" made to incase the kitchen so the larger part of the sanding particles and strong odors of the paints would be incased from the larger house. C&D did this quickly in one night. The next three nights they (1) sanded, (2) primed and (3) painted plus hardened. Two nights later the applied the cabinets. Each night they cleaned immaculately after each job. IKEA cabinets have a flaw in that the inners facings are a different color than the outer cabinets (see pics below)... so that the color difference can be seen when the cabinets are closed. C&D rectified this by painting the inner facing the same color as the chosen blue color. They also puddied and sanded the water damaged bottom trim to look like new boards. THE RESULT WAS STUNNING. A solid and beautiful blue cabinetry that looked better than the original. As my husband said..."We have a brand new kitchen." All I can say about the price is that it was better than any other company offered and possibly less than the job intelled. When can you say that in Los Angeles?!! The pictures speak for themselves. As for Danyll and Marty, they were delightful, relatable and hard f#cking working. You do have to be a bit flexible with them on the time frame as they are two people facing differing jobs of differing circumastances. But the end product is worth it. They are what self owned businesses should be about. Do yourself a favor, and employ them for your jobs!
