It's been a few months and my tub has some rough spots. It peeled after the first month and he did cone back and he said it was our fault because our faucet was dripping and fixed the peeling. He also said I didn't clean the tub and that's why the tub looked dingy is some areas. But I've had this tub refinished twice before with about 5 years in between so I think I know how to take care of it. And I know what it should look like One thing previous refinishers have told me is that after it's refinished, it's so smooth and shiny, that you'll clean less. That has been true all these years. I needed a touchup on my bathtub that Sam refinished three years ago. I dropped a metal can of shaving cream and it knicked the finish in a couple of places. Other contractors insisted on wanting to completely refinish the tub when it didn't need it. Sam took care of the issue gratis. I also needed my shower refinished. This required four hours of time just to strip the previous stuff off (not his work) and he spent a total of eight hours on the job. His price was $300 less than A&E (!!!) and the quality of his work and attention to detail are as good as it gets. I can't recommend Sam more highly. read more

Got up this morning to meet with Sam to FIX the bad patchwork and original spray job. Sam stated that there was nothing he could do because he didn't think that he could make me happy. I showed him what didn't make me happy (see pictures) and he told me it wasn't under warranty and I would have to pay. Then advised me that he felt this was quality work that he provided. Trust me. If you don't choose Sam for your refinishing job, you're making a mistake. About 5 years ago, I had my tub/shower surrounds refinished by someone who is no longer in business, and I'm not surprised why after working with Sam and seeing the difference in quality. My tenants unfortunately managed to create peeling holes in the previous finish, and now that I'm putting my condo up for sale, that needed to be fixed. Not only did Sam come in $125 less per tub/shower surrounds than the original guy I used, he did an exceptional job!!! He let me know that originally the tub was not prepared properly, this is why the peeling started early. He not only fixed the peeling in both tubs, you can't tell where they once were, and the tub/shower surrounds are freaking gleaming white! They're also so smooth I can't believe it. They look brand new. He told me that the finish he used will not yellow, and that it should last at least 10 years. It also only took him 1 day to do both. When I first called him to set up an appointment, I left a voicemail and he called back within 30 minutes. He has followed up and been proactive throughout the entire project. He is also a sincere pleasure to work with, and is probably the nicest person I think I've ever met. After I gave him a check for the work, we spoke a little bit about my condo renovation. I mentioned that painters were coming in the very next day, so he told me to be sure to let them know not to wash their brushes in the tubs, and to put blankets down in the tubs if they need to put ladders in them to reach the walls. That's something I would not have thought of, and I really appreciate his level of detail. He even gave me care instructions with my receipt, which is so awesome. Most people don't know how to care for refinished baths, and he could easily let people ruin them so he could come back to fix them, but he doesn't. He is extremely professional, and I'm happy to be supporting a small business. If I ever need refinishing services again, I'll be giving him a call. read more
