I recently moved here to Palm Springs, and I was looking for a great place to get a CUT! Darlene helped me, and she was awesome!! My partner was cut by her after me, and we both left thrilled to have found a place we look forward to returning to! The staff working were so friendly and welcoming, the interior is beautiful. I did not discover until later that it is owned by the super talented designer Scott Cullen's barbershop, so no wonder it is awesome. NEVER AGAIN. If you are of Africana descent never step foot in here. Actually, no one should enter. It surprised me when an employee said they had someone to cut "ethnic hair" unaware of how offensive that terminology is. Jimmy does not know what he is doing. The receptionist doesn't know she is doing either. It was partially my mistake of trusting white hands on black hair, but I was desperate for a trim. Two professionals said they were capable and I trusted them, as any other customer would. I asked him specifically "Do you know how to cut BLACK hair?" when I should have asked "Do you know how to cut Black hair WELL?" Perhaps they'll use this as opportunity to train for ALL hair types and not only cater to the local European men. When I called, he was extremely rude and dismissed the complaints. White or Black, a person deserves to be heard. Very ignorant! So beyond disappointed and a waste of $25. Never again. read more

I made a same day appointment about a month back and had the best experience with one barber, but trying to get back in to see him has been close to impossible. The company does now allow appointments in advance so you must call same day which is stressful if you have a tight schedule. I call on the days I know the barber I want is working and every time I call in the morning he is either not working that day or he is already booked up. Not quire sure how that works out but needless to say, I can't wait any longer so I'll have to find a new place to go :( read more

My haircut was great. The fade and overall look of my cut was awesome and the price wasn't badeither. My only complaint was that I set up an appt about half an r before and showed up a few min before the scheduled time. The barber took a walk in ahead of me which made him about 25 min late for my appt. My time is important and bc no apology was given it left me with a sour taste from the whole experience. I took my husband here for a hot towel shave for his birthday. The staff were very friendly, the offer of a beverage while we waited was a nice perk (and mine was refilled while he was in the chair ), and most importantly the service he received was top notch. I appreciated the varying levels of service offered. I didn't need a full service cut, and they have a service to trim the sides and line up (nothing off the top), for a very good price (can't remember what its called but it was $15 + tip). A regular cut is $25 which I think is very competitive and fair considering the experience level and cleanliness of the space - its very a VERY nice new shop - very cool design. They also offer old fashioned razor shave (hot towels and all), which I will be doing in the future. The staff were all warm, welcoming and professional. Excellent customer service. I also got to hang out with Prada - which made the entire experience even more perfect!!! Thanks for the great experience guys (and gal)! I called ahead to put my name on the list for a specific barber at 12:27p. I arrived at 1p and was told the requested barber would be back in 5 minutes. Sat down to wait for his return. At 1:15p, I heard the receptionist call him to find out where he was, and he wasn't coming back until 2:30p. But he told the receptionist he would come back since I had requested him. At 1:30p, no sign of him, and no further attempt to contact him. Just babble from the receptionist trying to cover her own ***. Not once did I hear, "I'm sorry for the mix-up". Disgusted with the high degree of ineptitude, I left at 1:30p. Common sense would dictate that the barber would check the list prior to leaving and update the receptionist with his plans? We started patronizing Cut Barber just after we moved to the desert in 2016. The shop is well-appointed and clean. Prices are low and value is high. I haven't had a beer, but I much appreciate a glass of cold water while I wait. The shop now takes same-day appointments. I haven't experience all the barbers but Braden Cook is my favorite. I live in DC but I stopped into Cut Barber during my latest visit to Palm Springs. The man at the front desk was friendly and personable, and offered me something to drink during my (short) wait for my barber. Brien quickly greeted me, explained the various services offered and asked how I wanted my hair and beard styled. Since I was on vacation, I opted for "the works". Brien did a fantastic job with my hair. The shampoo, neck and scalp massage, cut and beard trim were exactly as I hoped. Every detail was well worth it. I only wish I was able to visit Palm Springs and Cut Barber every four or five weeks for this level of service! Thank you to Brien and his team. This place is definitely a great place to have your hair cut. Hence the word CUTS. I just moved to Palm Springs part time and was told about Cuts. I tried it out and was VERY HAPPY with my cut. I've been back many times since and even wait now until i return to Palm Springs to have my hair cut. Jimmie has done my hair and he definitely from the first time knew exactly how to cut my hair from the way i described how i wanted it cut. I stopped by with my boyfriend to get a nice dapper cut. Unfortunately we have had lot of bad experiences with getting the right cut . We were greeted by the manager Daniel , he is by far the sweetest and CUTEST most personable guy. My boyfriend loved him and his welcoming personality! Meh... Average, if that, haircut for not so average price. My son and I went for cuts and left $75 poorer. Not sure of the guy who took care of us but couldn't do a fade or line. I have been a customer at Cut for many months. The Barbers are excellent. Thats where the service ends. They do not take appointments and invariably I try to get my haircut and there is a couple hour wait. Last Wednesday that happened to me and I was told the best time with the shortest wait was at 9am. I showed up the next day at 8:45 and there were two other guys waiting outside for the shop to open. 9am came and went and at 9:15 I poked my head through the front door and noticed a sign on the front desk that said their hours began at 10. Brien O'brien is either full owner or part owner, and I have know him for at least 20 years, and with in the past year was the first time he cut my hair. Unless you're one of their huggy, huggy, kissy, kissy friends you're treated like garbage at his faux, sophisticated barber shop. They've changed and modified their appointment policy so many times who knows what their policy is these days. They've had more turn over than I've ever witnessed which should tell you how poorly it operates. If you have an appointment, if you are five minutes late, you're passed over and told they can't take you. However, if your on time for an appointment, they can take all of your time, even up to a half hour, making you wait. Life's too short to put up with arrogance that this place oozes. read more
