The person who cut his hair didn't know what layering was and obviously was not familiar with cutting long hair. While cutting they were ripping his hair out. "We'll pay this one time fee of 75.00 which will cover your 2 haircuts". Okay that sounds fare. They assured me that it was just a 1 time fee because i don't live in Ohio. Guess what? They have been billing me 75.00 for a year & a half. So I paid 2,175 dollars for those 2 haircuts. Bad on me for not checking the credit card bill. He helped the previous client up out of the chair, brushed him off and helped him put on his jacket! I knew I came to the right place for my Dad. Dani cut my hair and she was super sweet but in the middle of my cut someone else had come in and she called out that she would get to them when she was dine with my hair, but it must have been at that point they started to rush the progress on my cut and was getting sort of careless. I got layers and the longer I look the more apparent it is that they are just blunt cut straight across. I'm not exaggerating it looks like I got hime bangs but all around my head lol. I think this stylist is very talented and has done some great work before but I'm not a regular of hers and the other people who came in were obviously a personal prior so I don't think my hair was really taken as seriously especially since I had prepaid. I did try to communicate gently that I was unsatisfied with my hair but she wasn't really open to exploring options to help me be happy with it, they just told me my hair was unhealthy and there wasn't a lot we could do. I also don like to argue with people about their professions because it feels unfair to tell them how to do what they are trained for, but at the end of the day I really don't like my hair and it's affected my self esteem pretty heavily. If you choose to go here I hope you have a better experience than I did.

BUT they're one of the only places in Lakewood that carries Layrite Pomade products. Plus they charge about 1/2 the price that my salon does on the east side. And really... guys are using this. What CLE-area guy is going to spend $30 on pomade? Men's Cuts only charges $17, and I can totally see myself just picking up here for my man on a regular basis. Also, the inside is totally clean, updated and looks like a decent spot to stop and get barber shop pampering, if you're a guy. Lastly, when I stopped in today to pick up some Layrite Pomade for my guy, the owner helped me and she was really nice. She took the time to chat with me a bit and helped me figure out which one would be the best. If that's the kind of service you get for just stopping in to buy products, imagine what it's like when you're actually getting services done.

Credit cards are accepted via Square, though there is a small up charge, so cash is preferred. The salon itself is fairly small, with about 8 other chairs. Men's cuts itself however is just Mae. It's also in a great area with lots of pedestrian friendly shops and restaurants. Spare a few minutes to check them out after your appointment! Update: Men's cuts has recently made some changes such as moving locations, refusing to accept rewards credit cards (which is illegal in the US), and a significant decrease in quality of service. During a recent visit I complained that the sides were uneven and was told it wasn't the stylists fault, that I should just use gel to push it down and make it look even.

A coworker of mine kept coming in with very consistent and clean cuts so I asked him who his guy was, and he recommended this place and Jose to me. I called to see if I could do a walk-in, and they were busy which anyone who lives in a populated area understands, that that's a good thing. I understand that head is not the same, and some barbers will do what you tell them, and others, what you mean to do and should. I had the same barber for years in GA, and told Jose roughly what I used to get and showed him a photo. On his first run-through he got it nearly perfect, and worked with me quickly to adjust the fade to what I was looking for (because I wasn't the best describing it to begin with). He clearly cares about what he does, and will work with you to get your hair looking good. I'll update this review the more I go, but I'm happy to say that I think I've finally found a barber in Cleveland worth going back to. (Additionally his prices are extremely fair, I ended up tipping to equal what I would typically pay for this cut, overall great people, great place, easily accessible location) Imma be for real, there are some trash reviews under here, so to put it simply.. Busy? They're good and cares about his craft, literally make an appointment and you'll get in. Something isn't EXACTLY how you wanted it? Ask them to touch it up and they will get it how you want. Requested I give it a few more washes and another week and she would then tone it. (Toning would darken--not lighten). She said she looked over my photos and said when I left the salon she thought she did what I wanted--she did however it washed out. I messaged her to let her know that I went some place else. Where I was informed that she did not leave it on my hair long enough and it was not blended well at all. I had paid $360 (with tip, to Mallory). She not only didn't offer to refund ANY of my money, she also didn't even apologize that I had went someplace else. I would never go back to her based on the lack of response and refund. Terrible.
