My coworker: I went to Melissa in Manchester... Me: That's in my neck of the woods. Give me her contact info. Like...NOW. Well, it went down something like that. I'm trying to catch the enthusiasm and absolutely heart stopping need to get my hair done by whoever crafted what was on my co-worker's head. A phone call or two later, I had an appointment with Melissa. She's very accommodating and knows her stuff. Within a week, I was sitting in her chair and she was doing my hair cut using a technique I've never seen. She seems so casual, chats you up, and all the while she's eyeballing your head and hair 360 degrees. She cuts the hair wet. Then dries it and recuts its. Then she walks around your chair, checking out your hair and will go back in many times to do little tweaks and touch ups. Talk about good with details! You can tell she's been doing this for a long time because if your stylist has such a laid-back attitude while you're in the chair, you're either with an idiot or you're with someone who REALLY KNOWS what they're doing. Melissa definitely hit this cut out of the park. She was able to give me a really nice cut, she took a lot of hair out, gave it a shape, and it still has some length. I really like it. I felt before my hair was blah, which she pointed out what was going wrong with it, and how she would rectify it. And she went above rectifying...she gave me...Beautiful Hair. She is also very much into education. She will give you a ton of styling tips while you sit in the chair and after. She is adamant that if you have any questions, she's just a phone call away. So, to wrap this up, great little studio space, awesome stylist, and great hairstyle. Done. Done. Done. Get your butt over there. You won't regret it even if you have to drive a bit. She's that good.

This isn't a fancy, up-scale salon. Don't expect to be wowed by a modern interior or exterior. The location is in a sort of old plaza in Vernon, and the location itself is a little old-fashioned. However, don't let any of that fool you. I can speak personally for the quality of Janice and Ginger's techniques. They both have been cutting hair for over 30 years. Not only are the prices EXTREMELY reasonable (I regularly pay $25 or less for a shampoo + hair cut), I always leave with a great hair cut. I'm 27 and I have a lot of friends who get a little wigged out going to a salon where the people there have been cutting hair so long, but honestly, I've had $60 hair cuts in fancy salons and been really disappointed. I requested a Level 1 or 2 stylist when I booked the appointment online. I booked about a week and a half in advance. There was availability before that, but nothing that worked with my work hours. Check in was super easy and I was offered tea of coffee. Hot green tea was brought to me while I waited for my stylist. When she came out, she sat me in the chair and asked exactly what I wanted, if I had any pictures saved, and my hair type. She was super friendly and around my age so we were really comfortable chatting. The shampoo and conditioning was heavenly and the cut came out absolutely perfect. She even gave me styling tips and product recommendations. Even a month out, the style is growing out exactly how I wanted it to. When I mentioned it was my birthday month, they immediately applied the $10 off products or services promotion and my first-time customer discount. What should have been a $40 (plus tip) haircut came out to $25. I should also mention that when I was in the chair, my stylist mentioned she was new to the salon. When I asked how new she was, she told me she had taken her first non-trial client just that week! I could not tell at all before she mentioned because she was so comfortable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Style Points. Secondhand, I know one of my roommates has used their coloring services as well and really loved the results. A tad pricey, but she seems to think it was worth it!
