This is a long one. I was pretty excited to come here since I haven't been able to treat myself for such a long time, but I am very disappointed with the results and honestly feel heartbroken. I asked for a FULL natural looking balayage, which I have been getting elsewhere for the last 5 years but needed to go somewhere local. I ended up with uneven highlights that do not look natural at all, no "painting" on of the bleach like typical balayage, so now my hair will grow out with chunky roots, and only the top part of my head (a partial) was done when I paid for a full. The back of my head received one singular longitudinal strip of lightener and the rest was untouched. I also asked for some shaping around my face haircut wise, and she just picked up my hair, pushed her scissors up to it at random points and now I have uneven length, randomly dispersed straight bits by my face. I did not feel like my stylist wanted me to be there and I left feeling pretty defeated +$250 poorer. My hair was my favorite accessory and now I want to hide it. I contacted the salon about this and they never responded. Please do not come here and make the same mistake I did. read more

If you are looking to do extensions in the Bryan/CS area this is definitely your place. I went here when I only had a week to get extensions and I also wanted 28" (which isn't common so it made it even harder to get what I wanted). Where to even start.... I have never had hair extensions before and really wanted to try them. I researched and figured out exactly what I wanted. There aren't a lot of salons in CS that provide that service. . Went to the consultation and Rachel... my stylist...said it would be $850 rather than the $350 I was expecting - because "the quality of the hair is so much better". Whatever. I should have run away then. I decided to invest the money because she said they would last up to a year with general upkeep. The day of my appointment with Rachel... she literally put what felt like scotch tape all around my head. The tape was sticking out everywhere. Once again I didn't know any better. I asked her if that was normal. "Of course" she said. Then they started falling out. Over the course of the next 5 weeks I had to go back at least once a week for something... she did me the "favor" of not charging me for these visits but I could tell she wasn't really sorry for what she had done to my hair or my self confidence at this point. It was terrible. It was more like she was bothered I was coming back. The last time I saw Rachel she literally had me in a chair in the middle of the salon walkway (most clients have a room to go in). I was humiliated and crying. Then she started literally RIPPING the extensions out. When I tell you it was one of the most painful experiences I've ever had I am not exaggerating. To make matters worse as she was ripping the hair off my head she was throwing the hair away. I literally was sitting there crying from pain and then that? So I said what are you doing? I spent A LOT of money on that hair. She dug it out of the trash. Never apologized for the physical and emotional pain she caused not to mention my wallet. She's a liar when she says she know what she's doing. Blatant liar. I was able to find someone else to "fix" all the things she had broken and that cost an extra $350. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON IF YOURE WANTING EXTENSIONS. You can see from the photos my stylist took she LITERALLY had ripped patches out of my hair... and that's what was hurting so bad. My new girl couldn't believe anyone would do what she did to a client. The only thing I can think is she knew I didn't have a clue, didnt know what questions to ask... was just trusting she was being honest. I don't know how the woman sleeps at night. Very traumatic experience for me and I hope anyone reading this will think again about going to this woman or this salon. read more

So this salon's customer service was completely unacceptable. It began when we arrived on time for our 10:30 appointment but ended up waiting for 30 minutes to be seen. While waiting, no one approached us to explain what was happening, no one introduced themselves, and no on greeted us. Once we were approached, the stylist did not introduce herself or explain the hold up. After this, the stylist began to ask what we came in for and already had an idea of how much to charge us. We explicitly showed her pictures of what we wanted and the only thing she cared about was how much we were willing to spend - nothing relative to our preferences. We felt very dismissed. Next, the stylist working was insensitive with the treatment and rough. When being corrected she did not change her demeanor. While being worked on, the stylist was bouncing between two other clients and neglecting all of us equally. She was in the back parlaying with her other colleagues and her bosses. After being left for 45 minutes alone with foils in my hair, I finally prompted her to come complete my job - she claimed that she was coming but did not help until about 15 minutes later. She was still chatting with coworkers. Then, when she finished my hair I realized that she carelessly bleached my shirt - my favorite blue shirt. The kicker, worst part, and reason we will not be coming back and not recommended this place to anyone who asks is how shiesty and manipulative they were when we paid. We were specifically told a certain price in the beginning and were charged $50 over. Before we paid we confronted the stylist and the woman at the front desk and they said and I quote "I don't know what you want me to do." We paid as soon as we could and got the hell out of there. DO NOT GO TO RA SALON IN COLLEGE STATION. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. read more

Where do I begin....I went to Rachel (the owner) to have extensions put in on a Friday. I literally was Hopi g on a plane to Las Vegas right after the hair appointment which she knew about and sent me on my way with the most horrible hair extension job I've ever seen. I went In For a consultation 2 weeks prior so she should have been well prepared (knowing how much hair I needed) for my appt. I told Rachel at the consultation that I always require double the hair that most people need because I have so much hair and she agreed. Well go to the day of my appt and she only puts one bundle of hair in (which is not very much) and I clearly needed way more and she sent me on my way like that anyway. I will be posting pics of what she had done. To add insult to injury she charges me $1300 and when I got back from my trip I had to go to a different salon and pay another $1000 just to have them fix her horrible job. They ended up having to put in 3 more bundles to make my hair look normal. She is NOT a extension expert and do NOT give her your money! If she was an expert she would have never let me walk out of her salon looking the way I did. You could see all of my short hair...it wasn't blended nor could it be because I needed more hair. I went to Ra because they offer the $20 off coupon on their website for first time guests, so I figured I would try it since I don't have a steady salon in the BCS area. I went in for a slight bayalage and they did a decent job on it- it didn't look anything like the pictures I showed them and was a little different than what I asked for but it looked overall pretty so I can't really complain about that. My issues started when I went to check out and got my price total. Now, I was scheduled & had requested a partial highlight since I really only wanted the lower quarter of my hair lightened, and I wound up with the highlights starting just a few inches below my scalp, so obviously she used more product. I also have thick hair, so I'm used to paying for a full highlight even if I only requested a partial because they do have to use more product. HOWEVER. I have never in my entire life heard of a place charging you extra for a shampoo & blow dry (not style!!) after coloring your hair. You HAVE to wash my hair- what else are you gonna do, let me leave with bleach in my hair?? And the blow dry is so the customer & the hair dresser can see the end result of the color. The hairdresser that dyed my hair (who happened to be the owner) had to leave, so another girl rinsed & dryed my hair, but by the time I got to the checkout, she had left the building as well so I couldn't even argue the pricing and wound up paying WAY more than I expected, and the $20 coupon was pointless as I got charged the completely unnecessary $20 for shampoo & blow dry. So TLDR; they did an ~okay~ job even if it wasn't exactly what I wanted, but they will nickel and dime you and charge you as much as they possibly can- and then leave the building before you can question it!! Started going here maybe in...2011 or 2012, when it was at a different location. I'm not at all picky about haircut, because my hair grows really fast, but I've always had nice flattering cuts! I did the feathers-bonded-to-the-hair thing around that time, and they looked super cute and were applied well. Had a few shellac manicures (as in, long-wearing shellac over my own nails) and was happy with the manicure, the color and the wear (easily 3& 1/2 weeks-I purposefully let it grow out the first time I ever had shellac just to be amazed at how sturdy it is). I do my own now just because I change colors every 2-3 days and that'd be super pointless to shellac or gel them), but if I had an event or something, I'd be happy to have them done here again. I AM picky about hair color, because since probably 2013 I've been doing unnatural colors. Yeah, before Kylie and friends started everyone doing it. It's been red (not redhead red, like Yelp red), blue, purple, silver, lavender, sea green, and several combinations (blue and purple together, it's currently silver and lavender, etc). I'm fussier about color than cut because fixing color requires that you damage your hair some more on top of the damage double processing caused to start with (bleach hair, apply crazy color). I've always had a good result here, and the color held up a good while (don't blame Rachel though if your flame red fades in two weeks because you soap the h$$$ out of it twice a day and lay out three days a week. You do NOT have to shampoo every day if you're not active-Google it!) and I've visited the salon at like, all three locations that it's been at, which is always a good sign, right? My hair is still healthy and looking nice! I've never had it done, but I've seen several girls getting eyelash extensions here and they look KILLER. Whoever it is they have doing that is good. Everyone is hospitable and it seems very low-drama, if that appeals to you (being in salons or spas or whatnot already makes me socially anxious). I've never heard them talking smack about the employee that's not there or the customer they had yesterday, which i value. I definitely think the place is worth a look! read more
