Solid place. I was a walk in with just minutes to spare and they fit me right in. Could cut, with a nice razor neck shave at the end. One minor (one star) complaint would be a hot towel would have been much nicer that the "neck paper" that was used to clean my neck. Over all, great spot, reasonably priced. read more

The place to go on south side to get a modern haircut done right by professionals. John Noto does amazing work for adults and kids. My nephew has a swirl that makes cutting his hair difficult but John can handle it! Place is profesional and clean and you won't find this level of quality without going to a downtown or Wicker Park area that charges twice as much. One and done for me. Lived in the neighborhood for all my life and always saw it but never knew anyone to go. When I walked in it was dead and everyone sitting around. My hair cut started off good, she asked me what I wanted to do and I showed her multiple pictures and how I usually style it. Almost dead silence conversation and not a fan of not being able to see myself get the cut. (Faced away from mirror) I do a simple faux hawk and I left looking like I was ready for the marines with a raised buz cut. read more

Stopped in to get a low fade. This place is close to my house and wanted to check em out. I liked how you set your appointment and pay online and they accept Apple Pay which made it sooo simple. I scheduled my appointment and when I walked in I was seen right away. Ramona cut my hair. She did a good job but said absolutely nothing. I've never had a silent haircut before.. usually barbers make small talk but not her. Come here, sit down, okay Done. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she delivered. She did a good job. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I'm from out of town and needed to get a cut so after 20 minutes of looking at reviews on Yelp I landed here and made an appointment. What a mistake. After I showed my barber multiple pictures of what I want he completely butchered my hair. He didn't even come close to the pictures I showed and apparently didn't even know what fade meant. I'm very disappointed it's so bad I can't even get my normal barber to fix it for a few weeks until some grows back. If you care about your hair and have a specific look I would encourage you to stay away. Go somewhere else. This is the absolute worst cut I have ever gotten. Went there today and had a bad experience. The new sign in yourself on our tablet system was dumb. I didn't see the point and even with only one other customer waiting next to me they still appeared unsure of who's next in line (so what's the point of signing myself in?). The barbers all seemed good except the one i had ‍ just my luck right? The was by far the oldest employee there and clearly doesn't know to do a fade. I didn't get the haircut i asked for and the barber cut off my sideburns without even asking first. I look stupid now and am unhappy with my haircut. I don't have the correct fade i asked for and instead I'm now stuck with this terrible no sideburns 80's haircut. I'm very unhappy with the haircut I got today. read more

Great experience. Sign up for a time online. Easy checkin, got me in early, and the stylist was great. Very attentive to what I was looming for. Asked multiple times to make sure she understood what I was looming for (not great at describing what I like). I was looking around at other stylists working and they really dod a great job. This place has it all figured out. You check yourself in on a touchscreen, choose your preferred barber, or first available, and have a seat. Today, Monday, I didn't even have to take a seat. They were ready for me. Mike asked me what I wanted, I told him, and we were ready to go. He sat me down in comfortable barber chair, turned me toward the TV with ESPN turned on and got to work. He verified what I wanted, and later double checked with me about the length, so I left with a perfect haircut. There was no awkward attempt at conversation like most places, we talked for a little bit and I let him work. If you try that at most places, they start fishing for conversation topics and pay more attention to conversing than your hair. He did a great beard trim as well. Why review a barbershop? They deserve it. How hard is it to get a basic haircut correct? Not hard at all if you come here first. I've been trying to get a basic short Caesar cut for what seems like years. At the Hair Cuttery she said "I don't know what that is" and played on her phone until I found a picture in an 80's hairstyle book that looked similar. She didn't get close to a Caesar or the picture I showed her. Great Clips was cheap, and the haircut looked like it. Honestly, I probably could have done better with a mirror and my beard trimmer! I'm always willing to pay a little more to get better quality, which is why I'll be returning to Cutrone. read more

My barber retired over the winter and on advice of a friend I made appointment online for Antonio. Turns out he is the boss man. His shop is clean, modern, and very comfortable. His service was even better. I travel extensively and have had haircuts all over the world. There is no shop better that I have found. Easy to schedule, very prompt and professional, and the modern cut I received was outstanding. This shop is nothing less than a neighborhood gem. read more

Then being a broke college kid, I would go to Super Cuts and hated the amount of time I took to describe what I wanted done (which was a very simple cut) to only have it botched. My husband took my 9 year old son there 2x for his last 2 cuts and saw 2 different stylists. He saw a women stylist Minerva she cut his hair uneven and messed his colic up but it wasn't so bad. Second time we then tried a second stylist Travis and he completely butchered my sons hair. My son was so embarrassed We ended up taking him to another Barber next day so it could get fixed. My son loved going to Cutrone because he really liked getting a shampoo and he liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately we will will not be going back . My husband tried telling Travis where the line in his head should be and that his colic needed to be fixed but Travis insisted it was fine and that my husband was wrong , but actually Travis was wrong because any picture you look at the line is made on the side my husband told him to make it. He actually said he didn't want to make it any worse! The pros it was right around the block from us the cons 2 haircuts pretty pricey for a kids cut and we were not happy at all with the stylists we chose. We have heard great things of other stylists but they were booked up so I don't want to put the place down, I know cutrone has been around for years. My sons hair isn't hard to cut I just think those stylists have very little experience with what a fade and style is. When you look at the website you think these stylists know what they are doing but after 2 visits clearly not every one of them does. read more

I came in after getting a really bad haircut at Hair Cuttery. I knew I was in good hands at this place when I sat down and they said, "Wow, your last haircut was pretty bad, huh?" I had a fantastic haircut. I didn't wait very long at all on Saturday afternoon. Price was comparable to any other men's haircut prices. I used to go to any hair cuttery or supercuts when I needed a cut. I was never really happy, but also wasn't disappointed enough to go somewhere else. Im very low maintenance about my hair. Im just a regular 32 year old married guy who needs his haircut every 4 weeks. But then I went to Cutrone. I finally had a relaxing barber shop experience and a fantastic haircut. Ive been here like 10 times. Every experience has been good. They have tons of flat screens that always have a game on, or ESPN and they have tons of magazines as well. You sign in, they call your name and you're up. They typically have 5 or so barbers working which keeps your wait time to a minimum. Several of the barbers have cut my hair. All were excellent, friendly, and easy to talk to. The haircut is always well done and feels more professional than the generic chop shops Ive gone to in the past. Great looking place with very friendly employees. I thought I would spend my money where I live and work so I stopped in for a haircut and beard trim. I was seated for a haircut immediately. I have very short hair, think military cut but starting to thin. A pleasant young lady cut my hair and informed me someone else would trim my beard when she finished. In 10-15 minutes I was done and moved to a chair at the front of the shop. Another women informed me she would be trimming my beard. It's short and just needed to be cleaned up. While shaving my neck with the straight razor she twice cut me. A small nick I could see but one was an inch across and wouldn't stop bleeding. When we were finished I went to pay. When I asked what the cost was the woman informed me that it was $62. In hindsight I should have asked prior but I usually get my haircut and beard trimmed downtown or in Lincoln Park so I figured $40 tops since I couldn't se paying more then I would pay there. I won't be back. You cut me and charge me $62. I wish you well but your so over priced I'll spend my money elsewhere read more

I recently discovered this barbershop in the heart of Mt. Greenwood and fell in love. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Every time I've been in there, I didn't have to wait. Tori (unsure of spelling), is an amazing barber and does an exceptional fade and will continue to get my business. I had gone to another shop I won't mention here and they butchered it, but Josh immediately diagnosed the problem and now I'm back on track. It's a little off the beaten path for me, but I found a new barber illness going to for a long time to come. $24 for men's cut but honestly could have gotten it done just as well at a Great Clips. Asked for a high fade, 2 down to a 1 and to leave the top long. Instead got a 2 all around with a 1 at the very bottom. Showed her a picture and she said "you want it THAT short?" as if I didn't know what I wanted to do with my hair. Cut the top extremely short as if she didn't hear my requests at all. Nice place and nice staff, but if you're looking for a high-end cut worth $24 I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

I just moved to Beverly area and was in need of a new hair place. First time I came in I was impressed. The place was clean and they have all the chairs facing the TV's. I personally like this as I am not a fan of small talk. In term of my haircuts the three times I went they were all above and beyond. I go to Izla and she knows what she is doing. The amount of time and detail she puts in cutting hair is exceptional. I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know. It's $21 for a men's haircut so a little more expensive but well worth the money in my opinion. Keep up the great work. read more

I have had outstanding haircuts from 2 barbers there. Walked in, they listened to what I requested, and both a man and woman did great work. I'm older, balding, so I appreciated that they styled what I had, and trusted the team. My last time in, though, the barber asked what I wanted and then did what he did. Never used a pair of scissors the entire cut, electric clippers the whole way, so essentially a flo-bee.
