probably the worst place I been out here in paramount . the lady left my hair line crooked and pushed back . also she would get distracted mid cut and be on the phone until somebody told her something , worst part is that she didn't even cut much of the sides of my hair . definitely not worth 35$ maybe 15 + tip. and I have the easiest hair / haircut to do . now I have to go find someone to fix it lol wouldn't recommend and hopfully I save you from the same problems I'm going through . read more

I have come here a few times now. Usually it was in the morning when the owner was there. She would be the usual person who cut my hair. Today, I tried a new person, early twenties, he was working Tuesday June 14 in the afternoon. We talk about the cut when I feel the machine digging into my skin. Fine, his scissors feel dull, they haven't cleaned up around the place and when I walked in the place was dead. There was hair by the chairs from previous customers, even though the place was empty. The cut itself was uneven and it looked pretty bad. I didn't have the heart to tell him bc it looks like all he does it machine fades. He doesn't know how to use scissors or cut longer hair. I had to go to a different barber shop to get it fixed. I'm hoping I didn't walk away from the place with an infection. The hygiene was pretty bad. read more

Since moving to the Downey area in 2017 I've been in search for a good barbershop/barber! It seems to me that there's a barbershop on every corner here and in the surrounding areas, so its kinda like playing a guessing game when trying to find a decent shop? For years I've always gotten a mid shave fade (pretty basic cut) with the 1 or 1 1/2 clip on top. I let my hair grow longer than it has been in years and decided to change up my look/hairstyle! My wife suggested I give this shop a shot since she's always going to La Espiga next door for some esquite! So I go check it out and it looked like to me that everybody here has good cutting skills! That's when I noticed JP towards the back of the shop giving a customer a difficult haircut and decided to wait for him! I showed him a picture of what I basically wanted and I must say he pretty much nailed it!!! Exceeding my expectations for sure! My search is over and I definitely found my shop/barber for sure! Happened to drive by on a Sunday and saw there was no wait. Took both of my boys to get a cut and they were attended right away. Showed each of the barbers a picture of what we wanted and they nailed it both times. One of the barbers was quick to change the tv channel to a cartoon that the boys would enjoy. Weird vibe in the shop. no one greets you upon entering. Took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge I was a walk in. Scheduled an appointment at 11:45 and waited for a barber for 30 minutes and he still didn't come. I asked for a clean low fade comb over and don't cut too much on the top and guess what he does, cuts the whole top of my hair and telling me 'i look like a new man' this guy really needs to take classes on cutting hair because he messed up my haircut and needs to get his ears check also. I told him clearly on what i want for my haircut and still does bad on it. My barbers out on vacation, so I was skeptical about going elsewhere to get my fade. Ran into this place driving home, so decided to try it out, figured the name says it all. Walked in and was shocked at how big this place is, they have 8 chairs, and they have about 4 tvs throughout the shop. At the time of my visit, on a Wednesday afternoon, there was only 2 barbers, but had no one waiting and they were finishing up with their current guests. Immediately upon walking in both barbers acknowledged me. Once one of the barbers was done they came over and introduced himself, Sam, and walked me over. He was quick and very detail oriented. I got a mid fade with double 0 on the bottom, he asked if I wanted him to shave it with a blade, or utilize the machine, I opted for the blade. Most places shy away from the blade and automatically go with the machine. Fade was on point, Sam, did a great job Definitely recommend checking out this place out and getting your cut from Sam. This is my second time going there and I don't even know why i went back. Maybe cause it's close to my house.the first time some kid did the job and it took forever, while i was watching tv. I thought maybe he's taking his time for good. But i was wrong. I came out very dissapointed. Today i was in a rush and close by. So isaid what the hell. Maybe the kid was a begginer or something. So i decided to give em a 2 chanse. My mistake. The girl that cut my hair,She was very rude. She had an attitude. And it didn't matter how i explained how i wanted. At the end she did what she liked. I was so mad, but politely told her why did'nt you ask me about the final touch. And with an attitude she told me well you should've told me.also next day my wife looked at me from the back and i had scars of all the cuts she did...never going back. Also i have never seen a barber with earphones while cutting hair. The place is very nice and clean, but don't be fooled....the lady in the first bay i think she is the owner she is very polite. Came in around 2pm, pretty empty. Barbers were in their early 20's. All of them were very detailed oriented. $15 for men's cut. Even though i just needed a shaved head (double 0), Crystal took time, very thorough by doing initial shave, then using the closest trimmer (some places just use the closest trimmer first and do a one-two pass, 1 minute job.
