When we moved back home to CT, I spent the first couple years trying to find a good kids hairdresser we could stick with. We tried Scissor Kids, Snip-it's and the like. The haircuts were always hit or miss, prices a bit high, and the noise, kids tv shows blaring, etc., was not our speed. I was so glad to find Sally. When you're there, you're the only one in the shop and she treats you and your kids like gold. She's great with my girls, super friendly, patient but fast, and super reasonably priced. Let me tell you, I was a little nervous about the mixed reviews of this place and bc I have gone other places and had some not so great results. I was pleasantly surprised and so happy post haircut here. Miss Sally is a local Ct resident who has been doing what she does for the past 25+years and is just such a sweet soul. Easy to talk to and just gentle and patient with my child. She listened to exactly what I wanted for a haircut and made sure to ask me while cutting certain questions, and she didn't just charge me $20 plus dollars for how they wanted to cut it aka the standard boy cut. Went here for a pre-Christmas cut for my 4 year old son and left with a short choppy mess. The owner was very sweet and personable and my son loved the car he sat in to get the cut (and the candy afterwards). She cut his hair very quickly and despite me telling her that I wanted to keep his bangs long in the front he ended up with a short, choppy 80's looking bowl cut (the owner has been cutting hair for 20+ years but apparently hasn't taken the time to update cutting styles). It has been almost 5 weeks since the cut and his hair still has some short pieces in the back. Also, she did not do a good job around the ears. Sally is so great! I take my twin boys there, and she is so patient with them and does such a great job despite the squirming and screaming. One of my boys is autistic, and she is familiar with techniques that make the process much more manageable. Ms Sally is amazing!!! I have been cutting my sons hair since before he was 1 and it had been a complete horror show every month, we literally had to wrestle my son to get a haircut done. Until I made an appt. at Cuts for Peanuts. Ms. Sally reassured me that he would soon get easier, even down to the exact # of visits until the tantrums would stop and she was absolutely right. Took my 15 month daughter here for her first haircut. I was nervous because she's a wiggler, she never stops moving! We had no problem at all. As soon as we placed her in the little car-chair, she was mesmerized. The lady helping us was fast and efficient, checking in with me before making further cuts (especially with her bangs). My daughter left with an adorable and fair priced "toddler bob". I do think they could use a little update on the shop. It's clean and has some fun qualities, but even a new coat of paint would really spruce up the place and make the experience all the more enjoyable. read more

I was really disappointed the cut my 4yr old son got from the owner. We were in and out in 10 min flat and he ended up with an odd choppy looking bowl cut. She shaved his sideburns off and the lines created on the back of his neck were uneven. We won't be going back. read more

My husband and I have been taken our kids to this Salon for the past 18 years. My oldest son just turned 18. He got his first hair cut there. Unless we are out of town, they only go to this salon. My youngest son, who is now 12 years old had only had his hair cut there. My husband goes too. The owner-Sally- is very friendly. You can see that she enjoys working with children. After so many years of knowing her, it seems like our kids had grown together as she has kids of similar ages. From baby's times to SAT + College applications. Sally has always time to see the 3 boys, little and big. Many other salons have staff that comes and goes but Sally sees most of her clients and her staff is very kid's friendly. I have been going to Sally for years. She is wonderful and accommodating and always try's her best to fit you in . My boys have also been going to her and often stop in when they're back in town. Sally has a Hairdresser's AND a Barber's license so she can cut anyone's hair. There is a kid friendly front area so your little one can sit in a Frog or a Car and theres a small 2 person grown-up area called Back-stage. Finally the frizzies were setting in and we decided to take her somewhere to get some shape put into it. I was very apprehensive because she has so little hair I didn't want to take too much off.
